AirPlay 2 downsamples lossless to AAC 256 … what’s that about ?

Duh, it’s meant for audiophiles, no audiophile uses Bluetooth headphones(exactly for that reason)

Most people who care for quality of lossless level don't use bluetooth and you don't need fancy garbage dac, the apple's 10$ dac works great

I recently just switched on ‘Lossless’ on my Music settings on iPhone, EVEN WHEN I’m listening over bluetooth on my AirPods Max, and WOW! all my favourite tracks actually sound MUCH MORE richer. The difference is very noticeable to me. I know it’s not ‘True Lossless’ but it’s definitely better than the AAC 256 option which I set it on before. I only discovered this myself. Why isn’t this ‘lesser lossless’ mode made more popular? Apple should certainly let their users know about this on their official website for AirPods Max. I put all my music settings to ‘Lossless’ now… and YES, all my favourite songs sound better!

some wired stuff doesnt matter my pc goes through hdmi and i have a 10000 dollar sound system and still sounds lossy

So if I get the lightning earpods will the lossless audio work? Is it any different from spotify audio??

Got me a DAC and it made no difference. My audio interface does however.

apple doesnt support better bt codec thats true but i cant see issue with that you need dac if you wanna hires loseless there is info about that. for me apple music is still the best streaming service for quality sound

Having it streamed lossless to Bluetooth devices is still higher quality than not. Also the Dac inside the apple dongle is pretty decent for the price. And the dac inside most high end Bluetooth headphones are phenomenal

Debating om returning the anker lifeq30 and getting life q35 and a dongle dac adapter for my type c jackless phone, i like the q30 but the bass isnt very fast

misleading video. there no higher paid tear. Apple added lossless for the same price.
