I dont understand. Am I missing something? What is the breathing technique?
ОтветитьIt works for me. I have been doing Wim Hof method for the last two years but when I began to do it before going to bed it worked just as Tim said.
ОтветитьWish he would actually tell us the breathing exercise.
ОтветитьMine started two weeks ago at 7! 😮 today it is 17 Last week it got to 24. I’m 56. It should be higher. My Whoop is terrifying me.
ОтветитьThis seems like a sales video, not an educational one.
ОтветитьDear Tim, thank you for your constant strive to bring people useful knowledge. Female 47, upstate NY here. I measure HRV with Garmin. Time for me to start HRV training. THANK YOU FOR INFO
ОтветитьCorSense the Elite HRV device shown is no longer made for some reason. Only recommended options from them at this time are a chest strap type or a wristwatch type. Seems like the finger method would be great, why are the finger types hard as heck to find now?
ОтветитьMy hrv is really low but I have inappropriate sinus tachycardia and pots syndrome . Any advice to help improve mine. Mine could be as low as 11
ОтветитьI did resonant breathing for 30 minutes before bed yesterday, I remember during the session I was extremely sleepy, almost falling off my chair... then I went to back a few minutes afterwards and it took me a while to actually fall asleep. I was not sleeping very well before but at least it was quick to fall asleep. Then I would wake up 1 or 2 times during the night. I know these methods take time but I still find it weird the difference between the session and when I got to bed... maybe I should do these while laying down.
ОтветитьYou’re a good man Tim!
ОтветитьWas really hoping you'd explain why high HRV is "good" and why low HRV is "bad" - or at the very least, explain what HRV even is. But this video makes HRV training sound like snake oil.
ОтветитьIf you`ve done pranayama yoga or studied different forms of breath work, or can achieve a deep trance state, don't waste your time or money. Its just a western take on eastern/african approach to the mind/breath/body connection.
ОтветитьDid he just say “it used to take me 30 minutes to fall asleep. Now I do HRV training for 20 minutes before bed and it only takes me 10 minutes to fall asleep.” ? Net gain zero other than increased HRV
ОтветитьGood morning everyone, so I am just getting myself into changing my body physiology and how I feel inside day to day, over the past 7 years I have been going through menopause, so this has been a journey for me...can anyone share with me what kind of training I should be doing being post menopausal to achieve of live in my best HRV sequence for my.body? Or what Kind of trainer I should use to help me achieve.this? Not all trainers are created equal and most di not know what HRV variable is....
ОтветитьModerate cardio exercise with deep breath in, hold for 5 seconds (bear down for vagus nerve activation) then slow long release. This for 10, 15 min sessions. Works wonders for me.
ОтветитьThe Buddha taught this connection long ago….
ОтветитьI stay between 160-190. Caffeine and alcohol are you enemies. They destroy amounts of REM and deep sleep.
Ответитьany iPhone apps you recommend for this?
ОтветитьI wonder if Tim owns a Whoop device for HRV monitoring
ОтветитьMy anxiety, paired with lack of activity due to depression - left me with a heart rate of 146bpm just sat down in a chair. I treat this as an emergency and paired with breathing exercises, beginning to move again and focus on fitness, losing weight with keto etc, I have brought it down to 76 in 4 days. The power of breathing is astounding and something I've only just found out. I used to run 6 miles a day, so I'm hoping these excersises will quickly help me get back to that level of lost fitness.
ОтветитьMeasuring baseline HRV works great for me as a reminder when to take a little extra care of myself. It also motivates me to live healthier. Resonance frequency breathing worked very well for me. I measure with a Polar H10; reasonably priced and it's the gold standard of consumer devices. I also use EliteHRV to analyze data and to do breath work.
ОтветитьGreat video! If you are interested in a deep dive into HRV, check out this free workshop hosted by Harvard Medical School's Dr. Ahn. @
ОтветитьPaid endorsement?
ОтветитьAnyone else think that he resembles Mayfield from the Mandalorian?
ОтветитьYou can tell Tim is a podcaster because he’s constantly spelling the things he talks about, seemingly forgetting this is video 🤣
Thanks for the content!
Useful info thanks Tim. Also check out Wim Hof Method he’s been doing this a long time and also uses cold to change your physiology and therefore mental state.
ОтветитьYo Tim I'm interested why you haven't mentioned the work of the heartmath institute? Not to be dissing just curious about what you think of their research
ОтветитьNice summary, but did not explain the actual tactic about HRV training. How someone tries to relax and increase HRV looking at the trace? If you are kind of meditating and looking at the HRV decreasing, for example, which technique is best to improve?:
ОтветитьWhat brand is that t-shirt??
ОтветитьI hope Tim goes hard on meditation and in 10 years we get the equivalent of 4 Hour Body for meditation practices.
ОтветитьTim has a huge fetish on tools
ОтветитьI love the vagus nerve reference. Would love to hear a podcast on it with someone who's studied it.
ОтветитьNice work 🎇✨🌠
ОтветитьAnyone know of a way to measure HRV and/or coherence real time for meditation purposes? I don't want to have to wait till the end of the session to see if something is working - I'd rather be able to change my posture, breathing rate, mindset, etc. And have immediate feedback as to how well that worked. Do any apps do that or do they all just collect data for some amount of time and report average metrics at the end?
ОтветитьQuestion for Tim or anyone reading this, does the Wim Hof breathing work for this and falling asleep quickly?
ОтветитьAbe it’s called pranayama.
ОтветитьI was literally just thinking about this and wondering how to Train HRV
ОтветитьThanks, Tim! I am the developer of iOS app, "iBreathe" as you have listed in your description. Thanks for the mention and for spreading your word on HRV!
ОтветитьAppreciate the shout! 🙌
ОтветитьAwesome.Tim!
ОтветитьBitcoin's action after the new year season has been incrédibly fluctuating positively , with bulls taking full control of its trend as they attempt to push it above its 2019 highs. ОтветитьThe up and down explains the School of Athens painting well, the one with Aristotle and Plato
