So many different holidays for the boys and girls

First there’s Christmas in the U.S.A.
Santa Claus brings lots of presents, and Christians go to church to pray
In Germany, he’s called Christkind
In Italy, he’s called Babbo Natale
In France, he’s called Pere Noel
In Mexico, they hit a pinata on Christmas!

Then there is Chanukah, the festival of lights
Celebrated by Jewish people who light the Menorah for 8 nights
There’s also gifts on Hanukkah, and people eat potato pancakes called latkes

Don’t forget Diwali, another festival of lights
Celebrated by Hindu people telling stories about when good and evil fight
There’s a feast on Diwali and people eat sweet meats called Mithai

Then there is Kwanzaa, a holiday that honors heritage
Celebrated by African Americans, black red, and green are for it
There’s a feast on Kwanzaa, and people also give gifts

There is the Chinese New Year, also known as the spring festival
Celebrated by Chinese people, they light lots of fireworks
There’s also parades, floats, and red lanterns
