while i agree that its a stupid thing to ban, I believe its wrong to say its the same as changing a playable character into their opposite sex. This solely has to do with Dame and Isobel being made as a Same sex couple, Nothing inside the game can change that. Unless you install a mod, Dame and isobel are lesbian. The same cannot be said for any of the playable characters because literally every single one is Bi. You have free reign to fuck any companion that you see fir because they will always reciprocate.
TLDR: changing Dame Aylin to a male erases her LGBTQ ties, whereas the same cannot be said for any of the playable characters

I have been slowly losing interest of western video games and have been slowly moving to Japanese developers because I find the games to be more fun than the western ones now but I have went back and played god of war ragnarok and thought it was really good and I’m going to start the Valhalla dlc but I find Japanese development to be much better now but I still like some western games
