343 halo feels like every game is reboot to undue their previous fuck ups.

I loved reach when it came out. I liked the switched up campaign and played a lot of multiplayer

I'm sorry. In no way is combat evolved better than halo 3? Like not even close. Halo 3 closed out one of the best fps trilogies of all time, had the best maps,multiplier, forged, biggest community. Insane competitive scene, better campaign.

I’ve always heard people decide between reach and 3, and I honestly think reach and 2 are the best! 2 felt like it actually had the most horror elements to me (I did play 2 first). All in all though, enjoyable vid!

Don’t hate me but I loved halo 5s multiplayer, imo it has almost the perfect balance between being to competitive and fun, you can’t imagine how much fun I had in forge, and now Halo infinite is taking it a step further and has basically a 10x better multiplayer, so yeah top two multiplayer Halos for me are 5 and infinite, in terms of campaign there both the worst and second worst one😂

Halo 4 is good

TBH Halo 3 is the best game ever made, not just Halo, and not just First person Shooters💯

Literally just finished Combat Evolved on the Master Chief Collection and I can tell you right now, that game is rough. I booted up Halo 2 immediately after and it's just better in every way. When CE came out, it was great but now it's very much dated and other games in the franchise just did it better. No amount of compelling story can trump bad gameplay.

I grew up playing Halo, starting with CE on Xbox and playing every Halo since (except 5 and Infinite). In my experience, 1, 2, and 3 were easily the best and it's really hard to rank those. But Reach was such a let down, and so boring. I didn't really like Reach. 4 wasn't too bad but it wasn't that great either and I'd say Reach was better than 4. But the first 3 are by far, by far the best. I don't know why so many kids online simp for Reach. It's really weird.

Halo 2 was amazing, have so many memories ill never forget, gets the win for me 😇

I think I rate reach higher specificly because I grew up a bit later. Halo 3 was My first intro to the series so i started master cheifs story in the middle and not the beginning and wasn't as immersed. Halo reach and odst experiencing the story fresh when it came out with new characters just gives a different feeling.

I usually find the split on Halo reach aligns alot with when players started playing the series.

Putting Ininite above Reach considering how mediocre Infinite’s campaign is compared to Reach is wild.

How come you left out armor customization and unlocking? They're definitely a huge part of the games themselves. One of the best parts of the halo games was customizing your spartan the way you wanted and the journey towards unlocking your favourite armor. I feel like leaving that system of the games out of the critique doesn't feel right. I know halo 2 and CE dont really have much for armor customization, but 3 and after all did and creating your own spartan was a huge part of playing the games. I remember finally getting inheritor on reach and unlocking the haunted helmet. Probably my biggest gaming achievement

Halo 2 and halo 3 the best hands down

Halo 3 was my first and only highly addictive gaming eyperience. The ranking system was just super cool playing with my friends, there was always a custom game going on, where I played game modes and maps I never saw before. Forge, Cinema, all shareable - all in one game - at that time it was just super sick and the FIRST time I ever saw this happening so easily in gaming!

I remember competetive ranking lists on certain events like valentines day, where you was able to win the Recon Armor if you finish at level 50. And everybody was just grinding this playlist.
Halo 3 is the only game I know, that celebrated competetive gaming so crazy, because your highest skill was connected to your global rank.

I only rank the campaigns that's really all I play on halo, my ranking is from worst to best is halo 5, halo 4, halo 2, combat evolved, halo infinite, halo 3 odst, and halo 3 and reach are tied for fist, halo reach was just all around amazing and halo 3 gave the scarab its own AI best idea ever

Damn the first Halo game I ever played was on the Xbox 360 halo 3. I had the time of my life even though I didn't start at Halo combat evolved either way it still was a fun experience.

Wait how is Halo 2 Anniversary a reskin of Halo 4? The only thing those games have in common is the announcer and respawn count down sound effect, that's literally it.

How can you say Halo ce had a horror element that didnt really come back?? Bruh did you even play halo 2 campaign? The flood was waayy scarier in halo 2 as a kid. The way they would shriek in the distance... Man that part on scared icon where its all cloudy and dark and they just start running out from the fog screaming bruuhhhhh

Idgaf what boomers say reach is the best. 3 is the greatest. 2 is manliest. Odst is the coolest . 4 killed the franchise , 5 is the dumbest , infinite is the biggest missed opportunity. Wars 1 and 2 are the most underrated. And combat evolved? Well combat evolved is classical. But let’s be real here it’s children surpassed it in almost every way. (Until 343 took over)

Halo 3 infection in 2007 - 2010, double xp weekend, that was so damn fun

There is something about OG Halo that just hits different. 🤌Maybe it was just a huge part of my childhood.

T I M E S T A M P S

With halo I'm more of a Campaign player than I am a Multiplayer player. I loved the social aspects of the older games and I didn't like how almost all my favourite weapons were nerfed for "Competitive reasons" in the newer halos. The only halos I played Multiplayer on a lot were 3 and Reach And both had really good highlights for me. Halo 3's maps are unmatched in terms of epicness. They are that legendary. However I liked the gameplay of reach better although some of the campaign pulled maps felt a little small for what I really wanted to do. The Forge World maps are the ones that stood out to me the most and I played Halo reach Customs way more with my pride and joy being Superfection. My own take on the Infection game mode with enough going on to make every match unique with it's own best moments. The newer halo's are great if you enjoy competitive pvp and only that but if you look at it in terms of what the past games had they it's easy to see how weak they truly were and so my ranking goes like this:

- Halo Infinite
- Halo 4
- Halo 4 Spartan Ops (Yes I felt it was different enough and good enough to be a rank above halo 4)
- Halo CE
- Halo 2
- Halo 3
- Halo 3 ODST
- Halo Reach

A lot of these choices were a lot harder to make especially at the end with the best. Halo 3 and ODST were not at all different for me because I never played much Multiplayer. And while I get those chills and excitement from the 3 campaign, ODST brought a massive refreshing take on the whole thing and Firefight!!. I just had more fun with ODST than I did 3 although If I could have, i'd have ranked them both equally. Halo CE will be a divisive choice like Mint's Reach ranking. I can highly respect CE and I love what it brought to the table. I loved the story, I loved the atmosphere but overall it felt a bit stiff to play. Speaking of which I disagree with you about the Needler having no role. To me it's role was to be an introductory weapon for players new to FPS to get used to playing the genre with. Sort of a gun with training wheels. Explosions to help with killing, superior tracking plus it looks cute! As you said CE is a high skill game. Newer players would suffer greatly against more experienced players online and that's just outright true still. But in campaign at least they have a way to keep up with ease and I think that's nice. It really brings home the idea that Halo is meant to be played with friends for fun. But overall I just felt that although CE was better than all the 343 games, the rest of the bungie games just kept getting better and better with each release especially with my favourite campaign in Halo 2. Plus Dual Needlers that's just great even if from halo 3 and onwards the covies banned it as a warcrime. Overall I think I can stick to that ranking and be happy with it. I'm still getting new players in on the MCC to take them through the Halo Story and Halo Wars gets a special mention too

My friend and I would play Halo Reach Forge everyday after school.

We would play “Scan the Map” where one person would hide and the other person would move the grid through the map saying “Scanning, scanning” and then you’d scan through an area and splatter your friend id say “Scanning, complete”

The other one we’d play was called “Inception” where one person was a forge monitor and would slowly rotate a piece of a building and you had to run around on it to stay on or get spun off.
