Diverted the water for the people living there AND mostly for the large farms that was meant for the great Salt lake. Either the farms continue Or the lake survives. Can't have both. Unless you purchase fresh water for the farms and pipe it in from another state that rarely has drought, That's about all you can do.

Like I mentioned that a small portion of fresh water doesn’t mix with a huge Great Salt Lake, my mistake because that one shown above, I was exactly talking about. Both colors don’t mix.

Hi Justin, fantastic video! I tried to find these railroad tracks today, but we only made it as far as the Jetty Spiral. After looking on google maps, I found the tracks. Were you able to drive there with no issues? I'm assuming it's just driving on promontory road? Thanks for any tips you may share.

Aquí en Alicante hay también salinas rosas y para nada son de ese color, la edición lo hace todo muy bonito.

Great drone shots! I just dropped a video of my trip to Utah and the pink lake was one of the places I stopped at. Such a cool sight.

The Great Salt Lake is the largest lake west of the Mississippi and they decided to build a railroad straight through it cutting it in half. The biological effects are obvious as seen in this drone footage. I would like to see them tare down the causeway and restore the natural lake.

They should have NEVER built a train track through the salt lake. They should have built it AROUND the lake. They ruined the lake and the environment.

THIS MIGHT NOT BE TRUE TO DAY i was with my parents when i was a kid about 10 y o we rode across the great salt lake in a boat no bigger about 50 ft i remember being so far from land the water and the sky run together so that you could not tell where one ends and the other begins it's a spooky experience now imagine trying to cross any one of the great lakes in the same small boat then take it up another notch how about trying to cross the pacific ocean in that same boat look at the size of each in comparison i can't speak for to day i believe this was done after my visit in 1965

you know why it looks like that? because this was taken before 2017 before the bridges were put in. Salt Lake before the bridges were put in was a toxic red algae soup and when UP breached the causeway the red algee started to disappear.
