Fun fact: statistically one of the best characters for her buff over Tao or even dark knight is….main Xianyun.

I wish we get a charge attack buffer that allows my ganyu to evolve from an RPG launcher to a cruise missile.

With bennet C6, furina, and xianyun, every unit except catalyst and bow character now can be pyro carry with good vaporize damage. So do we need another pyro carry? Copium

Hu Tao main here. I play double hydro Hu Tao with furina and yelan. With Bennett, my CA hits for 130k, and with xianyun, my CA only hits for 100k, but I plunge for 200k, as well as have a new play style. Im having a lot of fun with her and I don't regret pulling for her.

lets give genshin its shit back, i had enough of this game there is no point in pulling on her when you can easily beat everything . forget the spiral abyss its just damage check and good rng for artifacts. dont i have decent xiao C1 build with sucrose and get approx 45k or 60k with benny but what the hell is the freaking point when you cant use decent built characters also note that i dont have faruzan , i seriously want both characters and i have 50 pulls already and guranteed but hoyoverse is just pissing me off. that is my rant

I pulled for her just for diluc, I'll just wait and see how she's gonna do, after i build her.

You clearly underevaluated the buff provided by her C2: if her wording is consistent with what we have so far, the 18k dmg will be added to the BASE damage of a plunge, which means it benefits from the user's dmg bonus and crit stats (not xianyun's), and vape/melt reactions. If you assume 46% elemental damage from a goblet, a reasonable 75/150 crit ratio, that's already a 60k dmg buff instead of 18k. And it only go higher with more appropriate supports (Furina, Kazuha, reactions, etc...)

It pains me that a character I liked so much in design and lore happens to be a sidegrade of my main but I hope I like the newer characters that sinergize with her are of my liking so I can run each one in one side of the abyss

Well. I sadly kinda have to skip her for now. Although everything she does and enables, aswell as how she looks like (resident Mommy collector here), is right up my alley, I am dead set on C6ing my Yae this rerun, so I kinda need all the funds I can get. In my case it really is a Waifu over Waifu kinda case. Yae is the sole reason I came back to genshin during 2.2 and stuck with it until my other favorite Waifu in the Game (Dehya) came out. Still stuck with it now, not regretting a single Penny spent on my C6 Pyro Warrior Queen. I just need 4 more Yaes to complete the collection. :<

Tbh I personally find the whole "she only works with Xiao at her full potential" (as you said) as a misconception tbh.
Some of her teams are straight improvement for some characters, look at Diluc, HuTao C0, Gaming, hell even some catalyst gets so much benefits from her (as a heizou main she's such a blessing, considering I dont have to deal with his weak NA anymore lmao).
On top of that, she creats a new type of style that, even if not significantly better, still seems fun to use. I cant wait to plunge with Yae and Wrio for example (for the latter, I even heard that a C0 she might be one of his best teammates).


Not to mention that the core Furina XianYun Bennett makes every single character in the game strong enough to clear the abyss.
Is it fun? I dont know. Thats up to you and I cant really argue when it comes to personal preferences, but I cant deny that so far im very satisfied with her tbh.
Definitely not as strong as Kazuha, Nahida and Furina for example, but she still finds her place in the current meta.

As a mobile player with a potato phone, she's a DO NOT PULL for me, which sucks cuz she's so pretty and waifu material whyyyyyyyy

I think hoyo will release more 4 stars that can use plunging attacks, like gaming, to try to boost Xinyan higher. I do think this plunging attack thing can help with characters who might be able to spam those and do more damage. Idk she's very niche

I wouldn't call Xianyun meta-changing. I'd say she's similar to Navia. She just grants us a new way to play around but not necessarily changing the meta the same way Furina and Dendro did. Her plunge buffs are great but not a lot of units can take advantage of that so... she's in this tricky situaton where she's worth it to pull if your account can use her at her full potential. But if you don't have units that can take advantage of her, then you'd have to rely on her or Gaming to maximize what you have.

It’s going to be challenging not spending a dime on this game ever again, but as a dedicated Xiao Main, I’m still rolling for Xianyun.

theres actually 1 char that beats dilucs plunge base multi. thats freminet because his C3 gives +3 normals at 446%, a whole 4% woo. anyways diluc still does better till C6 freminet because of pyro infusion does a lot well freminet would need another char to infuse if he doesnt stick with physical. that +36% crit dmg on C6 freminet works vary well with xianyun dmg boost well diluc has +20% pyro during his infusion.

How well would she work in place of Sucrose? Running a mono fire team of Dehya, Bennett and xaingling...

Xianyun is a good support, if there was anyone to benefit from her(except xiao and maybe diluc)
Also here a team for her: Xiao, furina,xianyun and zhongli

Nope, she's not 10/10 waifu material. They really messed up with the colors for her dress, and it makes her kinda meh. She needs a costume ASAP, one that, say, gives her a nice red dress. Then she'll be 10/10.

Also, as someone who plays Genshin for fun (which, with it being a game, should really be all of us non-content creators, pretty much), she's an easy skip, because I don't find the pogostick lifestyle fun.

I'm really not a big fan of Hoyoverse's strategy of "Oh, this character isn't that great now, but might be in future... maybe". They should release characters that synergize well at the same time or close to each other instead of having niche characters that can't be judged fully on release
And GaMing should have been a 5 Star sword dps. His gameplay is too fun to be relegated to 4 star claymore

I'm not a fan of the plunge attack playstyle, which is main reason i have skipped Xiao, so ill be skipping her and throwing 1 50/50 pull on Yae when she comes.

I'm not sure to be happy or not i accidentally pulled on the banner and lost 50/50 to dehya so i build pittt and got xianyun in 30 pulls i did 1 10 pull on the weapon banner and got her weapon... but i genuinly didn't want/mean to pull her 😭😭

Update i ended up doing another 10 pull on weapon cuz i wanted to get nahidas i ended up getting xianyungs weapon twice and now i had activated the path i had to go to hatd pitty just to get nahidas weapon(i still didn't want any of the weapon nor the charzcter but i have no primos for arlechino now 😭😭😭)

Plunge tao with hu tao, xianyun, furina and mona is really good, i dont know if its better than yelan + xq but atleast the stamina issue is gone with xianyun since i dont have hu tao c1

My biggest issue with xianyun is that I don’t have her.

I have no idea why Hoyo thought it was a good idea to release a character as gimmicky and niche as Xianyun at the same time as a rerun for one of the strongest units in the game. They really set her up to fail by making her compete with Nahida :/
