I am an overweight petite at 5'1" and 157 pounds with a classic hour-glass figure. So if I have a piece of clothing that fits me at the shoulder, it will never fit at the hips. I always have to have my pants altered because the majority of pants do not have the elastic waist I need. Only Alfred Dunner. The KETO diet is my only refuge, but I get very tired of it. I love your videos and your style and find all your videos very helpful.
ОтветитьSo helpful!!!!!
ОтветитьHi Audrey! Love the video I can relate with the struggle! Would be great if you could more videos about petites like a series especially about wool coats. Thanks!
ОтветитьPetite style has avoided!
ОтветитьHi I am 5.1 and want to know what’s ur take on oversized half shirts and shorts combo for a beach vacay or even when u have to wear the over sized full shirt as a cover up on top of your bikini
ОтветитьI never knew the struggle of the petites. (Speaking as a 5’10” non petite).
ОтветитьI am 5’3”. I don’t wear heels anymore because 2” and below is more comfortable. I try not to wear billowing tunic top even though it is comfy. I also stay away from maxi skirts.
ОтветитьMost tips I saw in your video e.g on shoes and crop tops are not helpful at all. As a petite woman I should not depend on my shoes to be the central accessory around which I decide my outfit. Crop tops makes most woman look like they are competiting with teenagers, another reason crop tops are not the most ideal choice, because you cant wear them professionally especially if your work attire is more on the conserative side.
ОтветитьI think the very best thing you can do, especially if you are petite, is keep your figure. A BMI of 20 looks best on everyone, man or woman, according to surveys (and is also best for health and longevity). For me at 5 feet 0 inches that means 102 pounds. I am working at it... down from a high of 148, currently 115. Audrey, you are helping me decide on new clothes, thanks.
ОтветитьThank you for the great tips. I love your videos
ОтветитьShort torso and petite size makes finding clothes difficult. You have managed to master that in every presentation. I would appreciate continued discussion on how to accomplish that especially with an hour glass shape.
ОтветитьLove your sunglasses(min2.42) what brand is it, please?
ОтветитьTürkçe altyazı yok😢😢
ОтветитьThat's curious, I'm 1.61 m but I don't consider myself petite. My arms and legs are on the shorter side, but my actual height and build feels "average". Maybe it's a cultural issue?
ОтветитьI'm 4'11" and about 90% torso, so more emphatic necklines paired with a defined waist does wonders for me.
As a petite woman with shorter legs, I stopped wearing shoes that are chunky, patterned, or brightly colored because they visually bookend the very short distance between my waist and the ground. All my shoes are very understated now.
My waist is probably the most important visual anchor for me, so I also avoid all but the most slender belts, low-rise pants, and any dress that doesn't have a defined waist. (My sister makes fun of me for tucking even ratty, old T-shirts into sweatpants. Force of habit lol)
I'm a 16 year old who is 5'2 and a half (almost 5'3) and curvy. One tip I do to look stylistic even though I'm a little petite is I wear flare jeans with high heels to make myself look taller and wear a crop top. Usually, it works for me perfectly even though I can be bloated at times from eating, drinking, or even menstruation.
Ответить😮 You're 5'3" ?? You look so tall!!
ОтветитьI love your voice, smooth , warm and comforting
ОтветитьI'm 4'7 and I avoid low waist jeans as they make my short legs seem even shorter
ОтветитьBut 5'3 is a good height in India.
ОтветитьYour crop top is absolutely beautiful ..i seriously envy people who could wear crop top cause i can't 😭
ОтветитьWhere did you get that blue and white top?😍
ОтветитьAudrey- your suggestions are great. One thought to consider- would you be open to promoting vegan leather bags/shoes? It feels unnecessary and cruel for a lot of animals to go through a lifetime of suffering and the die to become a bag or a boot
ОтветитьI am very petite and 5 ft tall, but also have a belly fat and a very protruding butt. So I cannot wear short tops or tuck my shirt in. I keep trying to cover up both these areas and end up looking shorter and older. Any tips for me pls?
ОтветитьLove all your videos but especially this one!! I’m 4”10 and love wearing suits to work, but it’s a difficult task finding nice women’s suits as it is, let along those that aren’t huge, as everything just seems to be ridiculously oversized at the moment (at least in the UK!). Also I will take the heels tip on board, as you’re right it will give you no choice but to embrace your height (and save your feet!). Would be great to get some brand recommendations for trousers/jackets and just more petite styling tips in general 😊
ОтветитьThank you.
ОтветитьThx for your channel. I am 5'2" thin. finding quality as a professional is my biggest challenge. It so frustrates me that top designers ignore the petite. Do they think because we are petite so are our wallets! I once asked this question directly to Donna Karan she looked at me like i was confused. Lol! I love shoes...they always fit😁
ОтветитьAre you Heart Evangelista's lost sister? I swear you have the same energy as her. Soft-spoken and has fashion taste. Nonetheless, thank you for this vid! I'm petite too and I'm starting to change my wardrobe.
ОтветитьAwesome thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏
ОтветитьAs a petite, I would like to see more of this, like choosing the best long dress and long skirt.
Ответитьany one knows where is her camel coat from Ive been looking for it for a long time
ОтветитьThese tips were so helpful! I'm only 4'8" so it can be difficult to find clothing. I absolutely cannot walk or even stand in heels. I wore wedges to my wedding LOL
ОтветитьLove your blouse 😍
ОтветитьI’m 54 and 5 foot and most clothes don’t look good on me. I’ve always been self conscious about it and want to look and dress older but can’t find clothes that fit exactly right. Fortunately, I don’t do any of the things in this video but just want to know how to dress better.
ОтветитьThe audio on this video amplifies the sounds coming from the inside of her mouth. Therefore, it is so distracting and because of this I can not continue to watch the entire video. 😢
ОтветитьIt’s also important to consider body proportions. Someone shorter than 5’4” but nicely proportioned will look nice with almost any style a taller person would.
ОтветитьPetites who have hour glass figures and who are short waisted tend to look better in sleek well fitting clothes that emphasize the waist and longer legs that give them a junior sized look. As for shoes, 2 inch heels are best for more formal and for professional occasions. Flats or athletic shoes for casual wear. Save the higher-glam type heels for evening wear at clubs, discos, and upscale parties.
ОтветитьAnother tip is cut your hair to shoulder length or higher to draw the eye up instead of down.
ОтветитьHi there I am 5’5, do you think in the US that is petite?
ОтветитьI love your blue top
ОтветитьAny suggestions for crop top , if I am petite with not so flat stomach??????
ОтветитьLove the videos but i love your shirt ,do you mind to share where you get that
Ответитьthank you so much for the tips on shoulders and wrists, it really is important for a correct fit on my frame too. I also have trouble in the back of a more structured fitted top or dress gaping at my neck or armholes. I know what type of cut is able to be easily altered by my local seamstress so it gives me confidence I can look in proportion and have a piece that I will wear without hesitation and enjoy. You have also helped me to reconsider the type of shoes I wear as well, a closed in shoe does give a better line so thank you again for all your tips.
Ответитьlol at this point I think I need someone to style me. I've been trying to improve my outfits but I just don't seem to be making progress. Whenever I purchase something I think is ok I get told I look frumpy and so now I just wear a uniform of t-shirt and jeans which I somehow still can't make look good (and I've seen very put-together tshirt and jeans outfits). Not sure what I'm doing wrong 😂
ОтветитьCrop jumpers etc have been a game changer for me. Means at 52 I always shop younger brands
ОтветитьI'm 4'11 and it is hard finding pants that fit right. Thanks for the tips on petite styles, I appreciate it.
ОтветитьLove the petite tips!
ОтветитьI'm 4 ft 10 or 10 and a half, and have a slight build, so most 'petite' clothes are often too big. Sometimes 3/4 or 7/8 jeans in petite work well. In addition, my body is basically an inverted triangle. I find that bootcut jeans provide a bit of balance, although straights/slims are good. As well as this, I have tiny feet, and most ladies' shoes don't even come in my size, even in specialty shops. Girls' shoes sometimes work, but are often tizzy and tinselly and just look wrong (I am 70 years old). I'm no longer interested in high heels, either. I can't just choose whatever footwear I want and have to do with what I can get! Despite all this, I'm comfortable with my height and my body shape. I just wish that designers and clothes manufacturers would recognise that there are lots of us 'very petites' out there and would take us into account as much as they now take very large shapes into account (which of course is a good thing).
ОтветитьLove this!! I just discovered the crop trick as a petite last month. I would also add, buying children’s clothes for basics or loungewear. The only tshirts that work for me are little girls medium or large!! But they don’t look like I’m wearing little girls’ clothes either. I don’t totally understand why though.
ОтветитьPlease make more videos for us petite women. Your tips help very much.
