While Im glad COLT is making it blued. no way is this gun even a shadow of the original. $1500 for a $900 gun cause it says colt? Nah....Im not a S&W fan either. They would have to charge $3000 if they made these like an original and you probably couldn't find the smiths in the USA hired to do it....They are OK revolvers. It is no Knorth or Manurhin... For the money Id Buy the Rugar...JMO....

My complaint of all manufacturers is the barrel length. Why do we care about Canada when the public there cannot own handguns. I carry my vintage firearms in vintage leather which is 4 inches. I will not buy any revolver that has a Canadian barrel. IIRC Smith classics have 4 inch barrel. All my 4 inch revolvers have 4 inch barrels.

Why did Colt change the barrel vents? With the 4.25" barrel going from 2 to 3 vents, will this change be similar in the different barrel lengths?

I need a revolver that is reliable and rugged. Would definitely prefer one of the original Pythons before one of the new guns from 2020+. The new ones are pretty, and suppose if I just wanted to buy one and put it in a case then yes, I would buy one.

Tell them to make the vent ribs like they do on the stainless and old models. Three vent ribs on a 4 inch barrel make it look like a Rossi.

Is this a blue or royal blue finish? I hate to buy a blue finish only for them to come out later with a royal blue finish.

It's beautiful. The finish is classic Colt blue attractive. I hope it is durable.

About time. Now we have to get Ford, GMC etc....to go back and put their V6 and V8 engines back in their cars and trucks. I don't know on why all these companies just don't listen to their customers.

I handled a similar Python at my local leathersmith's shop in South Idaho being fitted for a custom holster. I respected that it wasn't mine and controlled my drooling. Nice video.

Hopefully CZ has ironed out their QC. Some early releases of the snake guns were experiencing timing issues.

I have a 1969 6" in blue.... I am not a fan of stainless guns. What I have been told is that actual wear on the original Pythons occurred with rapid double action shooting only. back in the day we dry fired our guns .... a lot... in rapid DA mode. cause... the gun games of the day were rapid DA games. I don't think you could get one out of time with a lifetime of SA shooting or rapid but not record breaking DA work. Colts time the DA and SA differently and generally the most wear will be on the hand for SA work. The hand luckily is easy to get to My Trooper MK three was worn just enough to spit a bit in SA every once in a while. I didn't buy a new hand even tho they are available but took out the old one and using my most precision calibrated ball peen hammer and the anvil on my 6" vise... gave it a couple of medium taps to stretch it. I think it is good to go but if I had been thinking I would have measured the length of the hand before and after no idea if I even did much but I for sure did not go too far.

I like it! Most of my handguns are stainless, but in my opinion, a classic revolver should be blued.
