Use the wire stripper notch for the ferro rod. You can get tinder to fit in the corkscrew. You can still fit the micro driver
ОтветитьWell done!
Ответить@urbanknifeguy , actually, the black knife in your video has the best tool to strike the rod.....the wire stripper in the bottle opener works flawless
ОтветитьThe pin is very useful.
ОтветитьAwesome ideas.
ОтветитьIt appears that the clip would only be useful if the toothpick and tweezers are on the opposite end. Some Victorinox models have the lanyard ring on the same end, so the pocket clip would block access to them. That is just my impression; I may be wrong.
ОтветитьI love your videos, but for God's sake. Please say millimeters instead of "mm."It makes you sound like an idiot. Know the meaning of abbreviations before using them ! And if you already knew what "mm" was, you have no excuse.
ОтветитьIf you place your ferro rod on a flat surface it reduces the chance of cracking it.
ОтветитьIve seen a lot of people say the best way to spark the fero is the wire cutter in the multitool.
ОтветитьToo spark you can use the wire striper
Ответитьa modification anyone can do:
pull out the toothpick, look for the nub that secures it in place and cut it off just below that.
now you have a cap that allows you to store things in the cavity of the toothpick. such
as a sewing needle.
Great video! As far as the firefly, I think it's recommended to strike it on the skinny side to help give it as much structural integrity as possible over time. I would also recommend adding a 3X2 MM magnet to the hook or can opener ( can opener can take a 6X2mm magnet if you want) it's pretty cool that you can use it to magnetize the needle so you can use the needle to find north
ОтветитьThe firefly works better with the notch in the bottle opener
ОтветитьJust ordered the Swiss Clip. I usually use a lanyard choked around my belt loop to suspend the knife in my pocket, secure as well as comfortable because the knife stays vertical. It doesnt work with my snowshoeing/ winter trekking attire though, so I think the clip be more handy than stashing my knife in the pack. One thing I noticed though is that clip is designed for a SAK with the key ring on the Awl side, some of my older ones have the ring on the wrong side for the clip to work.
ОтветитьI can't confirm this... but I thought I'd seen people using the ferro rod with the wire stripper notch. I could be making that up, though.
ОтветитьIts advised to scrape the thin edge of the Firefly and support it along your index finger to help preveng brakeage. Plus scraping the wide flat surfacd will make it loose in toothpick slot....cheers
ОтветитьGreat video able to accessories my Sak collection.
ОтветитьVery nice >>>>> Thank you .
ОтветитьPeople can use the the wire stripper on there knife to make sparks from the firefly ferro rod
ОтветитьThat’s a good idea using the tweezers for ferro rod! If a knife doesn’t have a decent spine for ferro rod or scraping tinder, I usually just make a few flat passes on the spine with a metal file and leave it rough as is after filing.
ОтветитьMany thanks
ОтветитьDoes the SwissQlip block access to the Tweezer/Firesteel slot?
If so it's useless.
"84 Emm Emm long" ??
It's millimetres you weirdo....
Save your money and don't waste it on the SwissQlip. Makes your tweezers and the hook basically inaccessible without using a 2nd tool to lift them.
ОтветитьNice video… only 10 years behind
Ответить"emem" is pronounced "milimeter" and is a 1/1000 of a meter.
ОтветитьI always love watching these add on videos i fine them so interesting like i never thought about that
ОтветитьVictorinox pocket clip...sold! Have one on the way.
ОтветитьMillimetre ffs
ОтветитьHas anyone tell you about a needle?
ОтветитьI wish Studley was still alive (legendary designer of the Studley Toolbox), he'd design our multi-tool today and fit 300 tools in it in a Tetris way. :-)
Must use a blue thread lock for the screw (or a spring that fits the screw, perhaps from a ballpen but there are coil springs online).
I'm holding my restored cool vintage Victorinox Explorer.
God bless.
The pocket clip is a great option. A dab of blue loctite would probably help with that torx screw.
ОтветитьWhat screwdriver are you using? Is that a copper handle?
ОтветитьLove the gadget but i am bit disappointed with firefly wich dopping just ripped in 3 pieces
ОтветитьAre these add ones available in the UK if so where?
ОтветитьSugiero reforzar la tijera, ya he roto 3 de ellas en el mismo lugar
ОтветитьWould like sources for 3rd party replacement scales.
ОтветитьIf you want to make a sparking tool that's already on your knife file the back of the screw driver so you have a flat shart 90° and you will always have a fire scraper 8)
ОтветитьAs for the Firefly ferrorod - it's ment to be used in a vertical position, preferably supported by something solid underneath (split piece of wood etc.).
If you don't have a knife with a saw, which has a crisp 90° spine, just take a file and file down the rounded underside, which is hidden in closed position. Cap lifter and can opener, even that silly parcel hook, some models come with.
You're so cool I'll tell all my friends who are Victorinox collectors in Korea I hope you have a nice day~~~~~~~~~😀😀😀
ОтветитьI think there's also a small fire striker that fits in the corkscrew.
ОтветитьThe length is measured in is milimeters, not emem. One milimeter is a thousand part of a meter and is used in science and engineering in non-medieval countries.
ОтветитьThanks for sharing. If you add Blue Threadlocker to the screw before screwing it in, you can avoid having issues with it possibly loosening :)
ОтветитьThe clip is cool. Are you sure it can't be used with 84 mm knives like the Sportsman ?
ОтветитьWith the firefly use the wire stripper on the bottle opener. Hold the rod in the notch with 1 finger and pull through. More consistant sparkage and much reduced chance of snappage
ОтветитьUse the wire stripper to strike the firefly
ОтветитьWhere do you find the clip at for $5?
Ответить
