Great information 💻
Ответить"I would have looked at you funny"
I see what you did there
Good video.
ОтветитьGreat and instructive video (although little new). Just a few things:
The terminals on ALT-F1 to ALT-F6 are called "virtual terminals" - because you don't really have an actual terminal if you run Linux on a modern PC. Also, when running on a PC, the Console would be you keyboard and screen (since they're directly connected to your computer).
ALT-F7 used to be where you found the GUI, since F1 through F6 had VTs from the start and F7 was the first free. These days VTs are started more on demand, so the GUI often ends at F1 or F2 since they too now are free.
Cool video but there are quite a few inaccuracies. Don’t feel bad, the terminology around this stuff is a complete shit show and stems from the heritage of displays used in the past. If you’re interested I can explain the inaccuracies. It doesn’t help that most people use all these terms pretty much interchangeably…
ОтветитьI really rare comment on someone's channel, but your knowledge worths my respect, thanks you for this amazing explanation, have a nice day/night

ОтветитьNeat!
Ответитьhtop is a character-mode application (utility). It's simply displaying colored output via terminal escape sequences. It uses ncurses which is a library that helps you write text-based UI (TUI) programs. Editors typically use it, e.g.
