By far the most common comment has been that using Resolve Studio rather than the free version would have changed the results because of it's GPU support. Hardware acceleration is only missing from the free Windows version of Resolve, on the Mac it is built in.
ОтветитьYou better be going somewhere with this counselor...
Ответитьwhy prores, try h264 and then see
ОтветитьMan that's crazy how horrible Premiere is...............yeah I'll stick with it
ОтветитьYou are sounding like an apple salesman.
ОтветитьIt’s Vegas Pro
ОтветитьWOW
ОтветитьNIX-CE
Ответитьediting is so much more efficient in FCP. and besides Resolve can't use ProRES RAW (unless you do a complicated conversion) - deal breaker for me. Everything has too many options in Resolve - I'm sure that is good for some but another complication for others.
ОтветитьDVR free version playback is not the same as the studio version. To do this comparison DaVinci Relsolve Studio version should be used to be fair.
ОтветитьI want that shirt.
ОтветитьThis is the first review of the many I have watched that doesn't say Resolve 18 wins hands down.
ОтветитьFINAL CUT ….. PERIOD
ОтветитьFinal Cut is a good reliable editor. I don’t have anything against it, but it’s limited when it comes to motion graphics, and I don’t understand why Apple can’t make it integrate better with Motion. I use Resolve because not only is it buttery smooth and fast, it’s a powerhouse when it comes to compositing and color grading. Premiere is just a dumpster fire I gave up on over a year ago because it’s too cluttered, unstable, and slow.
ОтветитьEverybody’s always making videos about what software is faster, what tips to make you a faster editor, do this to be faster do that to be faster… Faster faster faster. Fast has nothing to do with quality. I’m an incredibly fast editor and I could care less about being fast. I care about being good. And besides, the faster you edit the less money you make.
Being nuanced and skillful is way more important than being fast.
👍
ОтветитьGood afternoon from myself in the UK. I upgraded from my M1 iMAC to the Studio M1 Ultra three months ago and just returned it yesterday to Apple after quite a few issues with it. I've just picked up the 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Max. I already use PP but I'm considerrrrrrrrringgggggg (deep breath) moving to FCP. There's a link in this video to a comparison but unfortunately its from 2019. Do you have an updated video please as since that time i'm sure both software will have improved massively. Thanks so much. Lee
ОтветитьSo evident your crush on FCP ;)
ОтветитьPlease don't use the free version of resolve with two paid software, use the studio version of Resolve while comparing. It's not just about GPU support not all codecs are supported on the free version. All the other videos I've seen resolve studio demolished both final cut and premiere on M1 max.
ОтветитьThanks for the comparison. After 26 years of Premiere on Windows I ordered a Macbook M1 Pro and Final Cut.
ОтветитьI hear Resolve straight up can’t handle ProRes very well. As it was seen here resolve beats the others when playing Canon RAW LT but loses ProRes even tho ProRes is easier.
ОтветитьHey Tyler was this using the m1 optimised version of resolve or the normal mac one?
ОтветитьIf you were just getting started, which would you choose? In the video, you said the DaVinci Resolve has all these neat features you don’t have in FCP, so now I’m wondering what the best starting point would be for me as a beginner.
ОтветитьThank you so so much for going through the stress of putting your computer through this! I did not have the patience, which is how I found you. I lowkey have a crush on you, because of your level of patience hahaha. Thanks for these comparisons.
ОтветитьIt depends what machine you're using if Mac FCPX of course if windows Premier coz no FCPX in windows
ОтветитьHey Tyler,
Do you think you could redo these test with M1 compatiable versions of Adobe Premiere?
Thank you
Thank You❤️What camera Do You Use ?
ОтветитьHey Tyler thank you for the video. Are using the M1 Max with 24 or 32 cores? Also, curious, 1 or 2 TB SSD?
ОтветитьNot bad, what is this external hard drive? An SSD?
ОтветитьReally can't decide between FCP and Resolve. I have about the same amount of experience in each, but both has its pro's and con's. Really tough choice
Ответитьalso on the m1 max 64 gb... I haven't been happy with PPRo in years. But the legacy projects keep me in the system. Maybe someday I can switch to FCP
ОтветитьI use resolve for my editing, I love editing in it, and node system allows me do some complex stuff.
ОтветитьAwesome video man love your videos but Wait what camera are you using to get 8k ProRes 😓😓
ОтветитьThanks for the video. FCP can export part of the video - just use the range tool !
ОтветитьThanks for the info! Congratulations on the Chanel!
ОтветитьLittle note. Also the scale of the window impacts timeline playback I’ve noticed.
I tend to leave mine at 50% often.
That works better than “fit”. (I mainly use premiere.)
Resolve Studio offers GPU support. I wonder how that might skew the performance results.
ОтветитьTell me, who edits in 8 k timelines? Nobody. Even if you are delivering in 8k you don't ever edit in that.
ОтветитьDavinci studio version is smoother than the non-studio version!
ОтветитьMe using proxy files for 4k h.264 watching this 6 8k smooth playback: 🗿🗿🗿
ОтветитьFinal Cut is such an incredibly efficient and speedy NLE. Gotta love it 🙌
ОтветитьHad a hard time finding parameters in the export comparison. What time of the video, etc. I tend to just balpark in length of time of video with length of time of export.
ОтветитьOne thing I'd like to mention is that with premiere pro you can use media encoder thus allowing you to render out multiple videos at once. Other than that this is a great video
ОтветитьGreat job man ! I found out recently about your channel through your video about grading in FCP, and subscribed immediately ! I'm a video editor (though I've recently cut an american feature film), and I've been cutting on FCP since 2013 on the same 27 inch iMac with memory 32 Gb. My computer has been struggling with dailies for a while now, and can't handle 4K smoothly, forcing me to create proxies every time. I've been contemplating buying a macbook pro M1 max - even more since I watched that video - but I'm tempted to wait for an hypothetical new iMac for even better performances. What do you think ? Anyway, keep up the great work !
ОтветитьAm I the only one that thinks this a bit misleading? If you run the projects on an external (ssd) harddrive, it doesn’t use the internal ssd memory, right? Am I wrong here?
ОтветитьThanks, Cool, please try some of the less known programs.
