Ответить"Bad ' carbs ? R there bad carbs, or do we just eat them in complete and total excess along with soda and w hole lot of other crap sugary food . Mediterraneans eat risotto, pasta, bread.and potatoes ! Japanese and Koreans eat loads of rice. Both these cultures typically eat WHOLE FOODS with lots vegies. Japanese got sicker after introduction of Western Foods. When i was my healthiest I was travelling Europe, eating fresh baked bread, roast chicken and potatoes, fresh fruit and water. I was also walking a lot and not over eating or eating a lot of cakes , cookies and processed snack foods. Once I go home tho, back into the high sugar foods b4 too long. It's how we eat and the amt of processed foods not that carbs are 'bad' surely.
ОтветитьOne thing I realised after giving up on carbs is that I don't feel hungry all the time and no cravings. No headaches after working long hours and a good night sleep.
ОтветитьThis man seemed to want to confuse everyone. He shouldn’t even be calling the foods he is recommending as carbs. What he actually means is you can eat broccoli, cauliflower, peas, almonds, sunflower seeds, etc. He is calling these slow carbs whereas most people would say they are not carbs! The reason he is calling them carbs is because they contain traces of polysaccharides…. Chain molecules made of glucose!
ОтветитьAfter being told I have gastroparesis, I try to eat five small meals a day. I eat mostly single ingredient foods. Maybe 80/20. Gotta have a few pleasures.
ОтветитьUnfortunately when you say what people should be ideally eating, you are making a blanket statement that might be OK for 80% of humanity and not applicable to some 20% of mankind that has now become resistant to insulin like myself.
After an inappropriate response to metformin I have been on a low carbohydrate diet over the last 5 years and reversed my T2 diabetes in a few weeks and went on to lose 30kg with a perfectly stable weight. I take one or two occasional slow carbohydrate meals a week with no medication whatsoever.
At this rate the WHO estimates that some 50% of humanity becoming resistant to insulin by 2035.
For a medical professional like yourself, promoting the ideal diet is as inappropriate as promoting the best size of shoes or the best formula of eye glasses for everyone of whatever age or lifestyle.
The best strategy at this time for the metabolic syndrome that has hit 20% of humanity and that results from insulin resistance is a low carbohydrate diet.
The other 80% of humanity would do well by following your excellent advise.
I am a Doctor, always advise my patients to go gradually into near keto diet. my regimen for diabetic vascular issues is 40% fat(healthy ones) 40% proteins, 20% carbs to start with, and 10% carbs should be from fruits, avoid foodgrains.

Ответить"All plant foods are carbohydrates" Yeah, and all plants aren't good for you. Humans are hyper carnivores. There is literally nothing we need from plants that we can't get from meat and organs. Nothing, nada, zilch. Fiber is useless plant matter and meat and liver contain vitamin c.

ОтветитьThere are a lot of Dr’s that advocate plant based high carbohydrate diets. Dr McDougal has shown a lot of myths and misinformation surround vegan/vegetarian diets. Some of the world largest animals are plant eaters.

ОтветитьSure ... that's why the human body does need a single carbohydrate it it's whole life. Carbs are just fillers and useless sugars. I believed these fairy-tales for decades and only got sick and sicker. But after stopping ALL carbs I got my health back and lost all fat, never felt better. My blood-work proved me right too. I stopped believing guys like this a long time ago, only regret? I should have done that way earlier ..

ОтветитьCarbs are ok, just need to fast between meals and not snack... overloading the system for any nutrient aint good. Eat enough more protein then fill the rest with equal carb and some natrual fat and add veg.. fructose is the true enemy even from fruit, so dont eat daily.
The body needs glucose from carbs.
If u wanna lose weight just eat less carbs and fat. But dont eliminate.
This doctor is one of those that are looking for continued business. Saying that you should eat 75% carbs is such bad advice. Don't take advice like this if you value your health...

ОтветитьFruit? Are you insane? I'm type 2 diabetic and any fruit sends my blood sugar levels sky high. The ONLY way I can control my blood sugar level is eat as few carbs as possible.

ОтветитьGoing carnivore tanked my glycogen stores. Yes, my triglycerides were 49, CAC was zero, but I wasn’t sleeping, was crabby all the time, and I actually gained 10 lbs. I’m trying to repair my thyroid, sleep and metabolism now by adding fruit and honey back in. It’s actually working. To each, their own!

Abstract
The purpose of the present review is to describe how human physiology at very low carbohydrate intakes relates to the criteria for nutritional essentiality. Although we did not limit ourselves to one particular type or function of carbohydrates, we did primarily focus on glucose utilisation as that function was used to determine the recommended daily allowance. In the general population, the human body is able to endogenously synthesise carbohydrates, and does not show signs of deficiency in the absence of dietary carbohydrates. However, in certain genetic defects, such as glycogen storage disease type I, absence of dietary carbohydrates causes abnormalities that are resolved with dietary supplementation of carbohydrates. Therefore, dietary carbohydrates may be defined as conditionally essential nutrients because they are nutrients that are not required in the diet for the general population but are required for specific subpopulations.

ОтветитьWhy can’t most of your diet be carbs if they’re just “slow carbs”? Quinoa is high in calories and is a slow carb. You could easily make that your carb base.

ОтветитьAll plant foods contain self protection chemicals. ie, poison. Removing vegetables from my diet has been the best thing I have done for my health after removing grains. No more muscles and joint pain. No more excema. No more bloating or IBS. Fiber is not an essential nutient for humans. We do not have a digestive system capable of processing plant materials. Most of the "nutrients" in plants are not available to us. The bad outways the good when it comes to vegetables and fruits. The carnivore diet has changed my life and the improvements just keep coming.😊

ОтветитьThose "purple potatoes" have a glycemic index of 77, only 12 points HIGHER than pure table sugar. Many fruits have glycemic indexes rivaling or surpassing that of ordinary table sugar, all online look it up. Veggies are usually much better. I feel any real diet one can stick to is a good one as long as you cut out processed foods. As for me, 3 years of keto: Systolic BP down 30 points, weight down 42 lbs (205 to 163), A1c down to 5.7 (and thats after stopping metformin and glimiperide), no longer on Sotalol because my Afib has stopped on Keto. I've also been treated for chronic constipation (linzess 145mg) after having 14" of my colon removed, not since being on Keto. Another big plus, I don't get hunger pains/hangry on Keto. I can easily go 24 hours without even thinking about food.
As for needing fiber, tons of people on the carnivore diet have proven you can get by nicely without fiber. Lot's of studies about that too. You only really need fiber to counteract all that starchy carbohydrate.
Say what you want about low carb, the "Truth" is there are tons of people like me who have proven beyond a doubt that low/no carb works wonders. We just arn't pressured by big pharma that wants to sell drugs.
Side note, LOVE broccoli and eat a lot of it on low/no carb diets.
Eating food is as stressful as having a wife😂

ОтветитьOne of the first things I noticed cutting carbs of all kinds including added sugars, my teeth looked amazing! Tarter gone, and my gums weren't inflamed. Second thing I noticed was my joint pains went away! Oh yeah, and I lost 30 pounds in that first year. I'm now full carnivore and I feel pretty darn good.
