Why does a phone have your thumb print to allow access but this isn't put on a start start button of a cars interior? Yes a potential pain when you need service but come on surely we can do something with that tech to allow access or valet/service permissions....perhaps a code you can share with them that is easily changed at random... but the finger print access would be a solid anti theft device me thinks.

It's great to have this as 99.99% of thieves just won't expect it and won't have time (certainly not in a driveway) to steal it before the alarm wakes the owners up. No way. I mean I would be up and out there in 30 seconds, this can't be beaten in 30 seconds. As soon as it's out for my car brand I am getting it. They all look the same so I have to wonder why they can't make an OEM to fit all cars. I already have an alarmed steering lock on the car when parked (with microwave sensor and paging service if it goes off) so that plus the OBD port blocker would be wild, plus it has a full alarm i.e. the car has it's own full alarm system with tilt/proximity/internal, on top of the steering lock. Three things the thieve would have to defeat. Fun times!

I've now also added faraday pouches to my security setup! A mini one that just fits the car fob that goes in my pocket, and I use it the moment I lock the car and the mirrors fold. Then a larger one at home.
So farady + obd block + alarm + some kind of wheel lock just to piss them off is a pretty good quattro. I was considering putting a cop lock on it just to make it extra hard.🤣

Rewire the port so if someone plugs into it without first switching off a hidden switch they will get 5,000 volts into them and cook them alive 🤯

Extra security would be to use tamper resistant screws and fill the space with a ball bearing to impede drill attacks of they recognize the lock brand

Full respect but it's not preventing vehicle from theft. Hard pull and all obd port will just drop. Then you need connect to let's say correct wires and of you go. Secondary various vehicle trims can be removed just by pulling them off exposing wires where you can easily access can high, can low.... Etc.

No what you do is you put a dummy OBD port in place of your original one with the power and ground swapped around

..the best solution I use ..I changed the place where the obd port is located ..and in the usual place I connected a device with electrosok to a fake obd port ..when someone tries to connect they will receive some electric shocks ....advice to amateurs..

This is more of a preventer, it will definitely reduce opportunism, but is it really if you have an OBD tool to start a car? If they are determined enough to have a drill they could tap into the OBD wires behind the plastic, or just the starter connection. Or a roll-start...
