Gotta watch out for trespassers and deer…no doesn’t make sense
ОтветитьBest video with actual good advice for range building
ОтветитьSo would stacking old tires and filling them up with concrete be frowned upon? Id appreciate the feedback because I have a shit-ton of expired rubber and have an appointment next month to pour the foundation on a shop im building. I was hoping the concrete truck could back in and top off the wall of tires I stacke into shooter’s lane on the back of my land. Thanks
ОтветитьI have 32 acres, outside city limits, but still in a neighborhood type setting, i have about 7 houses nearby and three neighbors that border the property…when i moved in i built a range out of an existing 35+ ft high slope that existed naturally…what i woukd have liked to see you focus on as well is sound reduction….my backstop is great, ive got concrete pad, shooting station…but neighbors no matter how much i talk to them, they call the police on me, police tell them theres nothing they can do, but i would rather not be a nuisance…so i find myself not using the range as often as i want, even though im legally able to do so and i paid 2 million dollars for the home and property, spent about $40k in building out the range huts, electric, targets…
I havent found an aesthetically appealing solution….im beginning to think i should purchase one of those converted shipping containers they make in vegas, they are $160k and i got the electric set up and concrete can be poured for a pad…i just enjoy the open air shooting…
Anynthoughts?
How many tires did you use? And how easy was it to get that many? Did you have to go from shop to shop looking for old tires? Thanks
ОтветитьLol "i dont care if its sissy little 5.56"
ОтветитьFrangible ammo can still ricochet
ОтветитьI need to build an indoor range
ОтветитьHey will using tires for backstop ever ricochet
ОтветитьAny good resources to find property/land in states that allow folks to set up their own ranges? I have no idea how to start a search
ОтветитьHello Sir
Can we make a RCC Concrete Base instead of Gravels ?
Here in florida any officer or government official that impedes your use of your 2a rights unless you are causing harm to others or a reasonable potential for harm gets removed from their position and you can sue them 5,000 dollars. Suns out guns out y'all be safe.
ОтветитьIn my experience, bullets like to bounce off tires, especially .45
ОтветитьDon't forget to set your range up so that the tgt area is due North of the shooter position, if possible, in the Northern hemisphere,so the sun is never in your eyes.
Ответитьquit yelling
ОтветитьUsed election signs are a free source of corrugated plastic for target backing. Could also use the wire frame if the ground is soft enough to poke it in.
ОтветитьThis dude was 1SG for sure 😂😂
Ответитьin New York its 500 feet form any dwelling.
ОтветитьLOVE IT!
No bullshit, no stupid dad jokes/puns, all good info!
Carl is the tactical Norm MacDonald
ОтветитьWhen I did a burm I used gravel dirt and quick cement
ОтветитьKarl... I had my own 100yd range at my house. Wasn’t near as nice as yours, but it was decent and better than half I’ve seen. Instead of using sand filled tires, I got permission from a railroad company to pick up a bunch of used cross-ties. You’d be surprised how gooda’ shape most are in. After setting all those timbers in place, I covered them with fill dirt and then covered over the dirt with carpet given to me by a friend that owns a flooring company. It saved him $$$ on landfill and helped keep dirt in place...
ОтветитьReally wish there was a way to make a range without spending thousands of dollars.
ОтветитьI suppose those of you who repeat the chant "shall not be impinged" don't pay attention to the first 3 minutes? I agree with you absolutely about the whole militia idea but sometimes you sound silly to me. I'm a thinker. I think about how thoughts are structured and presented and I know that I sound silly to you when I say there are SOME rules that gun owners must obey, period.
ОтветитьTires are a trash backdrop.
ОтветитьGreat video! Excellent advice
ОтветитьThanks! Btw, make sure you run a background check on your trainees before taking them to the range. Gotta know who you're training and what their intentions are. 👍
ОтветитьThe first thing I did, before buying my land was i made an appointment with the town code enforcement officer. Make it clear you're not coming to fight with him. Im 18k in and not finished. Learn to be a safe equipment operator, the bigger, the better (its much more efficient). This summer i may spend another 14 or 16k.
Ответить"Once you get your range built, your not done." Damn.
Ответить😂 I’m a Marine, and when he said “500 Privates with shovels”….. he wasn’t playing!!
ОтветитьFarmland? Great, we are eating food contaminated with your lead, nothing like toxic food. Well done.
Ответить"Save the cows!" You can cover a range grounds with pot. Apparently it's totally legal now. Just ask the president.
Don't forget to bring in the goats before a range session.
Awesome video im glad I saw the entire video im also in the process of looking into building my own private range. This video had lots of great info 👍
ОтветитьWhat is the approximate distance from the target upwards
ОтветитьCost, cost cost, avareage guy dont have this moneymto blow, just gomtomamrange cheaper😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьIsn’t it important to have a blue print of your land of all gas water and electric especially gas lines before you build just my thoughts just saying for safety reasons great information and video and as always be safe and enjoy
ОтветитьGood 💩
ОтветитьI would like to Build a Gun Range on my Property. I have three Acres in the County. What is the set in building a gun range?
ОтветитьI have 40 acre ranch in SoCal and my brother in law was helping me build a range, we were cutting targets in the shop (a converted Quonset hut) and having a few beers, as I walked outside to dig in the scrap metal pile I ran across an 8 ft rattle snake. I grabbed a shotgun out of my truck while he decided he was going to try to capture it by forking it with a valve turner. It lunged at him and I pulled the trigger at about five yards distance with some #7 (and as the building as a backdrop) Needless to say, we both caught some ricochet and learned a number of important lessons.
ОтветитьLaws shmaws...
ОтветитьTwo dump trucks....a 1000..
ОтветитьVery thorough, excellent video!
ОтветитьKarl, im new to your channel. Great content, i love it. Is it possible to cover the medical aspect in a video, i mean teach us in a series format on what to do in different situations (common situations) and how to actually use some of the stuff... like how to use the tourniquet and chest seal etc....
ОтветитьSo you just used tires and dirt? Super. I need more tires and dirt than I was thinking. Thanks for the pro tips!
ОтветитьBerm density is 1x4 or for every foot of height, make it 4 feet wide. That might seem excessive but it allows berms to be stable without fear of collapse or deterioration
ОтветитьI would look at your city ordinances for example I can shoot in my backyard. Literally one street over from me and into the rest of the city they cannot
ОтветитьGreat vid! I want one
ОтветитьNice very good detail never really thought about having a plan incase an accident much appreciated
ОтветитьMy advise to everyone with a range is contact your local law enforcement and let them know that you have range and you shoot often have relationships with the officers/ deputies and community you live in. That way when there is an emergency they know exactly where you live etc.
