Some good information but not very professional. Very elementary and sing-song narration with very basic information. It’s truly unbelievable how bad the narrator pronounces English (ration and many more), German (names, cities, Luftwaffe, Reich, Wehrmacht) or French (every French city, Vendome, Champs Elysee, Arc du Triomphe, Arrondissement, Place, etc) words. A big distraction.

Surprisingly thorough e.g. even mention round-ups of Sinti & Roma then their transportation to death. But terrible dubbing by computer voices. Could they not find sb who had studied French at grade school for a year or two? Penny-pinching insensitivity! J'espère que quelques-uns ne sont pas rentrés chez eux. Il y a quelques années je vais faire saillir une chienne en Allemagne, en pleine campagne, comme je ne trouvais pas ma route je m'arrête chez un commerçant pour demander mon chemin dans mon allemand approximatif et je tombe sur un vieux, content de voir un français et qui m'explique qu'en 40 il était à Paris (je n'ai pas tout compris) et il m'explique ses frasques à ce moment sa femme du même âge arrive et lui demande de quoi on parle et le vieux lui répond que nous parlons politique, ça m'a bien amusé. Toutefois ce qu'il m' expliqué (enfin ce que j'ai compris) correspond bien au documentaire.

The film also does not hesitate to mention the disgraceful collaboration of some of the French.
In particular the active co-operation of the most of French politicians, police & Gendarme by hunting resistance and particularly the deportation and subsequent murder of Jewish citizens and dissenters.
The other side of the coin, that made the resistance, actively encouraged and trained by the British, all the more courageous.
This started life as a French documentary for TV, first broadcast I think in 2014.
In this copy seems to be AI voices automatically speaking for the English speaking audience.
The pronunciation of French and German words is laughable, appallingly bad so do try not to copy those pronunciations unless you want to be laughed at.
