How to measure AC Current Draw with a Clamp Meter (DT3266L, AC Amp clamp, Multimeter)

We cannot (at AC voltage) measure power by multiplying voltage and current. If we multiply them, we will get apparent power (with VA unit). At AC, the voltage phase can be different compared to the current due to inductive or capacitive load.

I have a lot of wires in the cellar and I don't know which goes in which room. Any chance I can find out without splitting the wires? I don't want to measure how MUCH current is going though...I just want to know if there is current going through or not. Is there a way to do this without splitting the wires?

Nice video! This helped educate me on how to use my Aneng ST207 Digital Clamp Meter. I have tried searching on how to measure the amps using my clamp meter and lead me to your video. As I want to measure the amps and the number of hertz on my 1.5hp inverter airconditioner, but was getting around 0.0 amps and 0 hertz. Your video has taught me to correctly find the amps and hertz by using either one of the positive or negative wires and not the whole single wire which includes both.

Щупи паршиві, зразу поміняв на норман, тіьки би пробем. Постоянку Вольтаж малий (1-3в) не поміряти, бо аж на 600в...градіровка, а 10-12в з великою похибкою..., то таки дурдом. Який придурок таке придумав??? Максимум на 50 постоянка, (ну 75-100в), то було б супер, а то дуже велика похибка.... Ну і мій прибор переменку вольтаж показує в мінусі 4-6 вольт. Може можна відкалібрувати, бо бачу є 3 підстройочніки, не знаю котрим крутити, і може хто знає як і що ними коректувати, то буду вдячний. І як би хто вмів і розрахував як зробити щоб градіровка була скажімо на 60 а не 600 вольт по постоянці, може який опір поставити.....

I like how you straight jump into it with no intro. Really helpful and easy to understand concept. But i would like to ask a few question:
1. How to make the adapter that you split the neutral and live wire?
2. Can i measure directly using the clamp meter at the live wire after the mcb at distribution board? Or would it be unsafe?
3. Could you suggest a cheap but ok brand model for the clamp meter for home use..
