The Correct meaning of Kitab in the Quran - YOU MUST KNOW

Towrah too was first revealed in tablets..and here Allah refers to it as Al kitaab.. eventually it was written down in scrolls..Quran too was compiled in written form..so it must very simply means Allah's commandments in written form..so every revealed set of commandments and laws were called Al Kitab isint it so

Salamz brother, personally I would be more inclined to believe kitab means gospel?

Even In modern day Egypt we say: "Katb Kitab" to convey signing official marriage contract.
Now I understand Why! it satisfies all the points you mentioned!
Such contract is referred to by ميثاق غليظ , عقد قران
ميثاق is used in Quran to also convey "covenant" taken on the prophets. (highest form of contracts)
Now in such contracts the authority of the word of God is supreme, The prophets act under it while in marriage it is what makes the relationship Halal

The quran described itself as a kitab (to be written and read in future) while it contains law, admonition and stores.

I always take "kitab" as prescribed source (to some degree: blueprint for the way of living and behving, matrix, universal decree).

Ummul kitab is the masterplan for the creation.

I am absolutely baffled by this video. I think you have ended up confusing far more people than they were before watching this.

First, what is the purpose of this video to suddenly say Kitab doesn't mean book? Secondly, what is your conclusion? I mean, after you establish that kitab doesn't mean books, what are we supposed to do with this new explanation? Are we supposed to understand Qur'an differently? Very confusing video.

Likewise, the verb kataba كتب does not mean to write, but to prescibe In the Quran, the verb سطر is used to indicate the act of writing, e.g. ن. وما يسطرون

But let me tell you that the most high attributes are the essence of the Lord that are seen in creations, yet mustn't be depicted in forms. Christ and all other prophets and nessengers bear burdens when the Lord's attributes decents on them.

What i can deduct from your explanation is that the word "kitaab" in Quran has wider meanings and its usage in it shouldn't be given the word "book" as its meaning.
I think the attribute of kitaab for Quran emcompasses meanings like written, command, revelation and mandatory.
The materials for writing defers from time to time, presently we call it a book, because it's a combination of pages made from trees, then it was from plant leafs, animal skins, clothes etc, they referred to each of them as kitaab; to indicate what was written there or the purpose they served; check this hadith of the prophet when he was on his sick bed:
[قَالَ : " ائْتُونِي بِكِتَابٍ أَكْتُبْ لَكُمْ كِتَابًا، لَا تَضِلُّوا بَعْدَهُ]
He said pbuh: bring to me a writing material, i will write for you command, you will not be misguided/ lost after it. I'm sure you're aware of the jinaas in the hadith. The writing material used in the translation is actually a scapular bone as supported by another narration and it's part of materials used to write down words during the prophet era.
Also check this Ayah of the Quran: {اقرأ كتابك}, which may be translated as: "read your written actions", I'm very sure this shouldn't mean command or mandatory, also {في كتاب مكنون} "In a covered written document" or what you chose to translate it to.
My point is the kitaab used an definite name for Quran emcompasses all the meanings possible for it in arabic language. The word book is used for it translation today because written words are generally in what is known today as "book". Although i support your point to change the attribute of Quran to accommodate all its meanings, but "written" is definitely part of it. then the usage of Kitaab as Masdar should not be mixed up when it's used in its verbal state like kataba,

Kitaab means a written book, in many instances of the Quran, without any other terms attached to it (such as suhuf or qirtaas). Both MSA and Quranic Arabic use kitaab for physical book. It also means decree or some of the meanings you mentioned. See 17:93 for one example. Also the kitaab revealed to Moses was, since the begining, in a written form.
وَاشْتِقَاقُهُ مِنْ كَتَبَ بِمَعْنَى جَمَعَ وَضَمَّ لِأَنَّ الْكِتَابَ تُجْمَعُ أَوْرَاقُهُ وَحُرُوفُهُ، فَإِنَّ النَّبِيءَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ بِكِتَابَةِ كُلِّ مَا يَنْزِلُ مِنَ الْوَحْيِ وَجَعَلَ لِلْوَحْيِ كِتَابًا، وَتَسْمِيَةُ الْقُرْآنِ كِتَابًا إِشَارَةٌ إِلَى وُجُوبِ كِتَابَتِهِ لِحِفْظِهِ. وَكِتَابَةُ الْقُرْآنِ فَرْضُ كِفَايَةٍ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ

To summarise my point from my previous message; i believe the meaning "written" is an integral part of kitaab in its noun usage, but it doesn't necessarily mean a book like you pointed. I've just wrote this message to you, it's written but it's not in a book!

You are right about the word and then you are continuing by making the same mistake as all ARABS. The word QIRTAS and the word KITAB, one is PAPER (QIRTAS =قرطاس ) and KITAB is writing)
ولو نزلنا عليك كتابا في قرطاس فلمسوه بأيديهم لقال الذين كفروا إن هذا إلا سحر مبين

Writing has been done and has been taught by Allah in his SUNNAH.

سنة من قد أرسلنا قبلك من رسلنا ولا تجد لسنتنا تحويلا
So, let me help you break it down. Kitab means writing, but the only one who has written is himself THE CREATOR (Dont call him ALLAH, BUT instead call him by his accolades) here is why
ولم يكن له كفوا أحد
And the example of that is in the verse that says.

ولئن سألتهم من خلق السماوات والأرض وسخر الشمس والقمر ليقولن الله فأنى يؤفكون

Why I say Allah does not mean creator because it is a word that can be spelled, and all the words that can be spelled cannot be CREATOR.. THUS. WE ADDRESS THE WORD AS "HE". UNDERSTAND.. QURAN has chosen for US how to address CREATOR and the PRONOUN GENDER does not mean CREATOR is MALE, BUT ADAM our HEAVENLY FATHER is INDEED MALE. SO, all and any linguistic word for CREATOR is simply just that..A name.

Book also has many other meanings. Like ; book a ticket; book a seat; book a criminal
