It's harder to use for non-technical people.
ОтветитьComunity is mosty annoying about you mention that you use Windows And they start hating you for some reason
Ответитьlinux did not have ads that is why
ОтветитьBecause am not a programmer and i cant just start hackers shit every time i want to search for a file
ОтветитьLack of willingness to satisfy the curiosity.!
ОтветитьIts too complicated for old people. 😂😂😂😂
Ответить#1 There is no driver support for my soundcard.
#2 No visual studio.
The gap is crazy
ОтветитьMany games? Steam and Proton have made a massive change in that space. Try Nobara.
ОтветитьIt has a very few users and for the developers there is a lot of incompatible Linux versions
ОтветитьBecause I used two days to make everything work on fedora (hardware, drivers) and ended up installing windows. It’s pain in the ass that’s why.
Ответитьand only tech person know linux
Ответитьno games. this my reason. i hate windows already.
Ответитьwell, untill it become super stable and user friendly, only tech enthusiasts will use it
ОтветитьWell windows is paid so it makes people think ghat it is the best os because it is expensive but Linux is the opposite 😢
ОтветитьBecause windows can be pirated.
ОтветитьLinux is for developers specially and every version is strong with a specific developer speciality like for EX : RED HAT- IR developers use it for websites and browsers coding. ...
ОтветитьUser experience is not so polished. Still with the latest display environments i feel rigidity and lack of options at the right places where they should be.
ОтветитьBecause everyone is not tech geek they want simple installation and uninstallation process. But in linux you have to use terminal for installation an removal process. And genral people not familiar with terminal. In windows or mac you have less use of terminal than linux.
Ответить1. Not user friendly.
2. The game doesn't work out of the box with easy installation.
3. Hardware and software compatibility - bad audio and video codecs.
4. Not user friendly at all.
I don't want to learn my OS as a normal user. I want to do some work on my OS using popular software rather than orgasmic about privacy and all.
Back in 2013 I decided to try to use linux for a month. The first issue I ran into was getting my network drivers working. Ended up going with a difference distro. After I got everything working I figured out there was no driver for my logitech G300 mouse so none of my side keys were working. Found a third party tool but my mouse wasn't supported by default . I needed to recompile it with some chnages (I forgot what its been 10 years).. At that point I had enough. Trying a new os is not worth it if I have to spend hours lookin up commands and compiling drivers for my devices. Its great for my VPS. Useless for my desktop.
ОтветитьWhat I do next? This is the problem. They either able to install it, but don't know what to do next. Or they run into a problem and don't know what the next step is. Linux isn't for everyone. Linux is for me, since I been using Linux for over 20 years. I don't have problems. But I know Linux.
ОтветитьYeah...no, until all of my apps work on Linux I'm not using it.
Ответитьif win 10 die in 2025 all win 10 users will go back to win 7.
ОтветитьI use Linux on a low-end laptop, dual core celeron n3060, and relatively new-ish. I use it for coding, I connect to a server, which happens to be my pc with all the stuff for remote development.
Funny enough, it can't run Windows 11 well, I've tried it, and it struggles opening a small project in visual studio code, yet on linux, I could run my main projects on it + AI autocomplete tools.
I am going to think about releasing my open-source music app for linux as well, but I am not sure how linux stuff works. Core technologies like runtimes and WebView technology aren't standardised on linux, which is what my app needs to run. (This is for the nerds: on Windows, i can just have the node.js .exe file and make a clever webview app that launches node.js to create a way to make desktop apps without C# or electron. Im not sure how I'll even make the webview or node.js runtime to work)
not everyone is fan of command lines 🙄
ОтветитьBecause nobody has time to mess around with a terminal for 40 minutes just to install some software.
Ответитьbut Android is using Linux Kernel but much more Popular than iOS 😅
Ответитьraises hands
I do use Linux, sir.
I use mint, and then Ubuntu
4th reason, linux elitists acting like assholes instead of people interested in linux is unintentionally hard gatekeeping linux and is discouraging people. I've seen people hating on linux because some of its users sent them death threats just because they werent interested in linux. I cant verify how true those experiences are but when there are hundreds of people claiming to have the same experiences i think some of them might be true.
ОтветитьLinux is not for everyone
ОтветитьI think stability is key too.
Linux is great, but it does crash from time to time, often in 'interesting' ways. Macos is famous for almost never crashing, and windows has improved a lot in this over the last few years.
bro most program works on linux its pretty much doss which mac and windows stole so idk which one but linux can run all the program mac and windows have
ОтветитьBro, Linux runs the world😂😂😂
ОтветитьIt's way too complicated and not sure if your game plays.
ОтветитьWhoever is used to windows needs Linux mint
ОтветитьI love xubuntu.
ОтветитьI have tried Ubuntu,Pop os, Mint, Debian all had some problems. Applications can be laggy, driver error etc. Sometimes you have to spend hours on forums in order to solve issue while in windows it would take few minutes. Sometimes you just cant find software for linux for example "myAsus" (just an example there are tons of them).
If you are not tech nerd, you don't have to even think about linux.
Do I like linux? - I love it. But I would never recommend linux to a person who just wants things work and easily solve the problems.
Linux is not for everyone.
ОтветитьI use Arch btw
ОтветитьWhy do you have huge gap between your teeth?
ОтветитьI grew up with Windows, and I switched to Linux. The main reason was because I wanted to play games, not Super Windows Update Simulator 2015.
ОтветитьAnother issue is that Linux runs better with older hardware than with newer hardare. High end graphics cards do not get full support. The other issue is that task-oriented software like CAD programs for Microsoft BI simply do not work on Linux because the vendor does not see it as a profitable market due to the size of the userbase. A mixed environment incurs additional support charges such as having specialized Linux support staff.
ОтветитьPin me
Ответить#6 i use arch btw
ОтветитьLinux is more meant for hardware savvy users. Normal people don’t want to have to go through a 80 step terminal process to install a fucking app.
Ответитьwho thinks immutable distros will be what pushes Linux forward
Ответитьfix your teeth dear lord
ОтветитьBecause they're stoobid. Linux now comes pre installed by some manufacturers. They have no reason not to use it now....
ОтветитьNothing works, you have to recompile touchpad drivers, sound drivers sound like shit, wayland is still a mess and everything you try and fix just introduces more problems.
Ответить
