I like turtle 🐢 amps slow down
ОтветитьEmotiva has noise floor hiss=no sale for me
Ответитьi need unit randy to put a mono block pre amp streaming together for me i have the speakers covered and they are big and need a lot of power but im lost with all this new technology with streaming and everything but i want to start off with emotiva mono blocks but might want the better ones
ОтветитьHow does the BASX A1 sound compared to your Macintosh Amplifier? Would you give up your Mcintosh for these? Thats the real test.
ОтветитьGod bless the AudioMan 🙏
Ответитьdid u noticed any slight hiss during silence and quiet sections of music? have u tested it with accoustic and wind i instrument recordings? how about a regular Denon AVR. I am a big ol school Metal Fan though i understand classical instruments, Orchestra require high Dynamic Range.
At that price it looks attractive though in end day u gonna want that thing u really want.
I tried there emotiva basx and kept shutting down on me I called them they gave me my money 💰 😢back and said they couldn't help me. I went with parasound and never looked back😅
ОтветитьHow do you hook up a powered subwoofer to “them”
ОтветитьI'm seeing $700 each.
ОтветитьI was not happy about Emotiva's BasX series with my Emotiva BasX-A3 (doesn't sound as dynamic ) so I bought the Parasound Zonemaster 2 which sounds as great as my Arcam AVR5.
The Parasound Zonemaster 2 (Class D amp) has dead silent noise floor (which is what you want), unlike the Emotiva BasX-A1 which hisses when the movie/music is paused according to AndrewRobinson.
You're gonna need a bra before long dude, damn!
ОтветитьI have the XPA-3 gen3 for my LCR. Do you think I would benefit going to Basx monoblocks for the LCR channels? I have easy to drive Klipsch speakers. I already have 2 Basx-A6 for my surrounds and heights. 9.2.6.
ОтветитьThinking that the Iotavx Pa3s could be an equally good set of monoblocks?? What u think?
ОтветитьGreat channel! Keep up the hard work, it's appreciated and enjoyed! Great shirt by the way. Saw ILL Nino, Nonpoint and Sevendust at the Rave in Milwaukee for New Year weekend. Some of my favorite bands.
ОтветитьI have the Emotiva BasX A2 which is good enough for me. I had the first BasX but messed up the binding posts moving it. I could spend more on a amp but for what logical purpose?
ОтветитьSo now.. Dang it Randy! I'm rethinking my plan for the CSS 1TDX project (yes I'm still building.. no time.. you know how it is). Orignally considering the Node / Vidar combo.. Then the Marantz 40n, or NAD M10 V2 or similar.. Now I'm back to a Node (if it's analog output is good enough), straight into possibly one of these Emotiva options. Space is no concern, so I'm beginning to think these mono's or the HC-1 possibly. Hmm.. Wonder if the TA2 DAC could better the Node?
ОтветитьI hope that someday soon you’ll review the Outlaw Audio RR 2160 stereo receiver. It’s a pretty feature rich piece of audio equipment. There’s not much that it doesn’t do. I think it’s a good value for what you get.
ОтветитьFinding anything on the A2 is almost nil..Wth
ОтветитьI’m listening to this five months later and they went from $450 to $661 each. That’s a 47% increase in five months Emotiva 😳
ОтветитьI was thinking about picking up a pair of the emotiva basx a1 and the basx pt2 preamp to run my elac uni-fi uf5 4 ohm speakers
ОтветитьDoes the Emotiva X Bass amps sound better than the IOTA XV SA3 + PA3. Would they give a stronger sound signature?
ОтветитьThe klispch m600 II is on sale now for 449.99
ОтветитьThe most practical rationalization to buy 2 of these A1 vs an A2 is the price. $540 for an A2. $480 for an A1. Buy an A1 and you have $60 to put towards your second A1. Now the second A2 only costs $420. Who wouldn’t buy a 200 watt A/B amp for $420? Not to mention you’re getting 80 watts total of more power into 8 ohms. 250 watts more power total into 4 ohms. That’s the math I did right before I ordered my pair of A1. Can’t wait to get them.
ОтветитьPicking max 3 times in a row a correct one means that you literally haven't noticed a difference. Just play with coin tosses and after 30 throws its almost certain you will get 3 in a row.
ОтветитьSuch a pain to get this shipped to the EU (The Netherlands) with all the extra costs / shipping / taxes. Makes them not worth it at all (money wise)
ОтветитьI watched the video 3 times and read the transcript and I'm not clear on whether or not you were comparing the Vidar as a single stereo unit or as a bridged (monoblock) against the Emotivas. I assume it was mono to mono.
ОтветитьThanks. Good case for the mono blocks...I looked at a photo of the inside of this monoblock amp on the Emotiva website. One thing that popped out was that the lead to the connection posts use cheap bayonet style connectors to the tab on the posts. That's an assembly phase short cut that saves money but kind of cheesy for the sound path. One easy thing you could do that might make a little difference is cut those off and solder the leads to the connection post tabs. At the same time check to see if the connection posts themselves are high quality. Most people wouldn't tolerate that sort of connector if they saw it outside the box. Yes, at the other end of the signal path many inexpensive or middle of the road speakers may have the same thing connecting the fancy looking speaker cable connectors to the speaker lugs. But if you are ever inside the speaker, you can usually fix that too.
Ответитьneeds preamp?
ОтветитьWhy would you need 300watts if everyone talks about 25w tube amps is all you need?
ОтветитьMono means one channel left or right but I find a pa amp can do the job I use it as a center channel it's alright
ОтветитьUgh! Enjoy your take on reviews and your taste in music is a personal thing, but using metal/ hard rock to review stereo components would seem to hide the newonces of their charcteristics. Jusy saying, but keep up the good work.
ОтветитьI wish these came with XLR input. I would have brought 2 and connected my PS Audio Perfectwave DAC direct to them.
ОтветитьYou drink your coffee black? Ugg
ОтветитьI recently heard a Carver TFM 25. 250WTS INTO 8 OHMS.
VERY NICE! My A2 just as nice..
Near field listening!?
You really can't appreciate these nearfield. You need to get 10 to 15 ft away. Then you'll see ! or hear
Hello from the dusty ol Panhandle the Golden Spread, Comancheria, Flyover Country etc.. do you hear a hum from the Emotiva BASX A1 mono blocks? I had a hum from the Vidars. Come to find out it is not unusual, i prefer no power amp hum.
ОтветитьLove the Sevendust T.
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьEnjoyed this thorough concise review , as always great . I appreciate how you speak on the minor differences of the two Emotiva amps , because interestingly another fellow reviewer tested the BasX mono blocks even comparing them to the higher Emotiva (I believe ) they’re models XPA 1 HC mono blocks (300w/8 ohm), and even then he notes definite differences and improvements but they were still somewhat marginal. But great review as usual keep up the great work sir!👍🏾✌🏽🔥
ОтветитьCool review ✌🏽✌🏽🔥👍🏾👍🏾I’m a monoblock fan always
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьHey Cheapaudioman, can you please review the mini dsp flex (with Dirac live) as a cost-effective dac/pre amp/streamer, paired to a class AB amp, like the Emotiva basX? I'm looking to pair this setup with bookshelves and a powered sub. Why don't audiophiles use room correction more often??
ОтветитьI love the performance per dollar value of the Basx line, but I have 4 ohm speakers and Emotiva just does not handle those very well...
ОтветитьDo you think these monoblocks would sound good with Martin Logan sequel 2? Unsure about preamp however. Will use this system with fluance rt85n
ОтветитьHow does the Emotiva compare to using the Crown XLS as a monoblock?
ОтветитьGot a comment from you saying that I'd won one of your giveaways. Tried to reply on your telegram cheap audio man thing but I'm not sure if I did it right. Would you be so kind as to reply either through this or some other way just so that I know. I'm stuck in the hospital right now so I have no way of going any deeper than on a phone that I don't know how to use it at well. Thanks man, and again love your stuff.
ОтветитьGreat comparison, trying to put together a system. Would love to see the emotiva TA-1 mono block in comparison to the outlaw 2200 mono blocks . I went through checkout on there both there sites and the outlaw came out being about $75 cheaper. Would def like to hear what the schiit Freya plus would sound with these mono blocks. Adding the freya + with these mono blocks may be the best bang for your buck in hifi today! Thanks for doing what your doing!!
ОтветитьThis was an amazing purchase, I put them in place of my Adcom GFA 5802 and I love the sound, I am using Klipsch RP-8000F speakers for 2 channel sound. I will just move Adcom amp to different room. Thanks for the suggestion.
ОтветитьMonoblocks eliminate crosstalk. Not really any debate about that ☺️
ОтветитьPLEASE PLEASE PLEASE look at the Ayinma A3001 (tpa3255d2 based) monoblock. I no longer use my A07 because of them. At 80 dollars each(USD) they are the most affordable monoblocks out there and can be swithched over to be a sub amp with frequency control.
ОтветитьI will take a pair of crown xls 2502 as mono blocks superior in every way and they don't shut down like my emotiva xpa-2 gen2 power amplifier my speakers are 90s paradigm flagship studio monitor series they are 4ohms nominal but dip down in the lower ohms emotiva loves to over heat and shut down. emotiva is good with regular speakers though the crown does not even get hot.
