Of course you can learn more than one language at the same time, I did 3 at school, although I did mix them up because they were all European languages although from different branches one Germanic, one Romance one Celtic. Nowadays I'm learning 2 ie Russian and Japanese but I never mix them up. They sound absolutely nothing like each other.
Reading kana is a lot easier than reading an alphabet because you're not fighting through letters. The sounds just pop out. So Japanese banana is バナナ but Russian is банан. Not quite so easy, I don't think because you're fighting through 5 letters instead of 3. If I'm tired my mind tries to read the н symbols as if they were English, when they actually say N. I've never ever mixed up Japanese kana with any Latin letter, haha!

I think Japanese grammar can appear difficult when a lot of teachers and text books try to fit it into an English box. It’s actually extremely logical and regular when you don’t try to translate or compare it too directly to English or say Chinese. Maybe one of the most logical and regular languages on Earth.
It might seem like there’s a lot of exceptions and irregularities because how Japanese will leave out many parts of the full sentence structure because it’s perfectly natural to know these parts by context.
And verb conjugation also has a logical system if looked at through the structure of the Kana system. And it has only a couple exceptions compared to dozens in say English or French.

I’m one year into mandarin. It felt difficult at the start, but now it seems easier because I have a good base. The characters are easier to learn than I expected. I originally started Korean at the same time, but it seemed harder. I will try Korean again in the future. Thanks for the great video.

As a Chinese native speaker, I would say the best way is to learn the Chinese language first, and then learn the Japanese language. When you know how to write Chinese characters, it is very easy to learn Japanese characters. And when you know Japanese, it is easier to learn Korean.

I'm a big fan of your channel. I am now learning Japanese.

I am a native Cantonese speaker. I wonder will you learn Cantonese in the upcoming future? A lot of people think Cantonese is hard to learn (writing in traditional Chinese, different particles, 9 tones, etc). It is quite challenging.

One of the wrong common knowledge is Korean uses Chinese characters borrowed from China in ancient times.
However, the oldest form of Chinese character is from ancient oracle bone script in Sang dynasty, who is one of Koream ancestors.

Ju dynasty of China used the oracle bone script after they destroyed Sang dynasty.
The current Chinese character is from the changes of the shape in Han dynasty.
So, Chinese borrowed all characters from Korean and they named it Chinese character since Han.

Hence, the Chinese borrowed all Chinese characters from Koreans instead of the opposite.

In Korean language, there is variations in usage of verb for the same meaning, depending on whom you talk to; older, of same age, and younger, or strangers or friends. So when you don't choose an appropriate word for each verb, older people or strangers will be angry to you or you look stupid to younger peoples.

Korean and Japanese didn’t borrow modern Chinese characters to their language and changed the pronunciation to adapt to their language system. They borrowed the ancient Chinese characters in different historical time and used the pronunciation of the character at different historical time. The pronunciation in Chinese character has changed in different levels during the thousands of years. The pronunciation of the characters in Korean and Japanese is very close to the different ancient pronunciation.
