I've been in recovery for somewhere around 12 13 years been to prison twice this song saved me from committing suicide on countless times any time I get in a bad place I sing this song loud and proud even in prison it was kinda funny there are a ton of wannabe rappers in jail and most don't like rock but for some reason when I would be singing in the shower they would request this song in particular I guess it was because I know every word by heart no music needed but because when I sing this song in particular I really feel the lyrics deep in my soul a musician understands what I mean you feel it all the way to your toes .so I just want to say thank you for all you do kid you are an inspiration to a guy like me not only do I love to sing music has always helped me through depression and recovery and so that's what I do everyday is watch my youngest son play and am very involved in all 3 of my boys cause I didn't have that growing up so it helps me be a better man and father

While not a fan of much of a fan of Kid Rock’s other music i do like this song because of how it speaks to the human condition and things we cannot control causing us as people to sometimes ask “Why”. I don’t always know why there has to struggle but presumably God Knows Why and has reason for it as part of his plan for humanity.
