I have the same CPU and I’m slowly increasing the Core IccMax by 5 Amps and I instantly get Current Limit Throttling even though I increase the Amps.

What am I doing wrong? When I increase the amps, I then get a power limit throttling “YES”.

i was able to overclock i7 8700 non k to 4 ghz. that was a few years ago, after a hard drive wipe i forgot the process an have not been able to repeat the results .
but its possible, with this utility may need specific bios set up but i cant recall sadly. So it is very possible to do. even with no overclock function . this was a dell xps .

Just a quick tip for testing CPU's in gaming, try using A Total War title as these are generally a more CPU intensive game compared to others, particularly the Warhammer titles. Far Cry 5 is right up there as well which probably explains why it had the largest impact.

Hello, i have a dell all in one 7790. My minimum and maximum cpu is 0,41GHZ. Processor itsself is 1,8GHZ. This problem is after an update from Intel Corporation - Extension - 17.9.6.1019 I cannot remove this update anywhere. I also cannot adjust minimum and maximum setttings in bios. Than i tried intel extreme utility but also dont know how to increase the maximum core frequency. Somebody who can assist in this case? Thanks in advance!

I reached 4.93 ghz, cpu temp 77*c, xtu 3233.
I put the first 4 cores to 5.0. The rest of the 4 cores I left at 49. I tried to push them to 5.0 but would blue screen on stress test. (I had to turn xmp back on after blue screen.)
I went by 1 core every bench test, no blue screen but, the 6 or 7 core would drop the cpu utilization down to 1% in the test for some reason.

idk, the turbo boost power max doesn't seem to do anything, it was set to max by default when I looked at it.
My processor core iccmax is set to max too.

Most I could do was enable xmp and boost two of my cores by 1x 😂

How do you safely restore all your settings back to default? I tried to uninstall the program and check the box that says go back to default but even so my overclock settings are still applied. I believe my overclocking is the main reason behind the stutters I experience while gaming.

Okay, I really should already know this stuff being CompTia A+ and CompTia Network+ and all but I haven't had a system uptil recently that I could over clock. So when I saw the results from my search overclock tutorial I was excited. But, okay I'll just admit it's me, but to me you guys are kinda all over the place and I had a real hard time following you.
