Freeze Dried Cat Food, My Thoughts On It.

I like that you do all of it. Varied content is good. My cat gets dry food available all the time, she loves Meow Mix Tender Centers and at night she gets 1 serving of the wet Meow Mix Poultry and Beef variety pack.

So - my cat Charlie (14 yo in August !) had bladder stones of a weird mix (doc's words) that she hadn't seen before and now he has to be on a prescription diet 😣 - canned and dry. It is SO expensive. I would love to try something else but am afraid to because if he gets stones again I would feel awful. He also has asthma (intermittent crisis) and eosinophilic related eye disease and requires daily eye drops for life. We have tried Hills Science urinary formula and he detested that. Now on Royal Canin S/O - he isn't crazy about it either but he'll eat it. I wish there was something to get him excited about eating but have to stay on this prescription diet. Do you think giving that NZ food as a treat would be okay? With his med hx we need to avoid any chance of crisis/surgery as it would be very risky. He had a respiratory arrest while at the vet and it scared the crap out of all of us. 😢

Question: My dogs were having food allergies. We pulled them off dry food with food coloring. Still having itches so we heard about freezing the dry food overnight in a plastic bag. Apparently this kills the microrganisms in the dry food ingredients. Comments?

I feed mine Naturals dry & fancy feast wet.

I have 5 cats. And making ends meet is getting harder as their food price have gone up. Two of them are Covid 19 kitties and I could not find homes for them. I go through 90 cans of wet food and close to 30 pounds of dry. I am all ways looking for a better way to feed them.

I have always been told by my vet that cats are the only true carnivores. Where as dogs are omnivores, like humans. The problem with contamination. And cat food that is wet and left out too long uneaten, larva of numerous bugs and contamination occurs when being left out too long allows meat to spoil just like people food. Everyone needs to check with their VET what would be best in their circumstance.

I feed Bing, Blue Buffalo Wilderness Delights, the flavor is Chicken and Trout in gravy, for his wet food. It comes in a 5.5 oz can and I give him a 1/3 for each meal. I feed him morning and evening. For the dry food, he gets Blue Buffalo basic in a weight loss formula, flavor is chicken. He gets 1/2 cup every day. I think he has lost a pound on that diet. He also gets a really large bowl of water. I believe strongly that cats need more water in their diet. His treats that I give him on occasion are either Churu lickable treats or Catit Creamy lickable treats, both are Salmon flavored. I think this cat eats better than me!!! 😅 😻 He is definitely spoiled!!!

Hello,thanks for the info on the cat food. My girls have been itching around their next and ears. I took them to our vet,no fleas,or mites,or infection. She thinks it’s a food allergy. I got them Purina pro plan, sensitive skin and stomach,Lamb and rice. I mixed this with their old food,which was friskies,the seafood one. There has been no more of them getting sick,but still scratching. I guess what I am asking,do you know how long the itching will last?What brand of cat food do you suggest,or what do you feed your cats? It’s frustrating to see your babies scratching so munch. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Our 10-year-old female has Iams dry hairball formula with chicken and turkey available all the time, and her treat at night is Delectables Bisque Lickable Treat (different flavors). I am also growing cat grass for her which really helps with the hairballs. She has long hair and hates to be brushed. I got the oat, rye, barley & wheat seeds blend that you recommended on another video, and she absolutely loves it. Thank you for helping me make her life better, since I knew nothing about cats before finding this channel!!!

I feed my 2 Tiki cat wet food and add tiki cat dry to their night meal. They are schedule fed and are quite healthy. Their vet said to keep doing what I’m doing. They had zero issues and my older cat is getting to her senior years and is very active and playful still.

My little menace loves the "Great Jacks" freeze dried chicken, turkey or salmon. She gets them as treat. Also sometimes its cheaper to buy the dog variety. It has the same meat in bigger cheaper bags.

I feed my cats and the street-cats i take care of a dry food, and every other day a can of wet-food. Farely basic but talked to my vet and was told it was ok. Occasionally i get special high protein food for one of my cats when her weight seems to drop. She suffers from the Calici virus. I have a freeze drier and I’ve been tempted to try something for my 2 cats. Meat, fish oil, Manuka honey.. hmmm…. I may stick with candy (all my trays get run the the dishwasher between loads) since it’s easy and fairly profitable.

That cat f looks great, but it’s too expensive when you are on a budget. I can’t imagine a 9 oz. bag would last very long. But, if you can afford it, natural food is best and the less added ingredients the better.

is freeze dried cat food safe? or are there concerns?

I really like the New Zealand pet food company food. In fact I only feed New Zealand based foods. In addition I feed Feline Natural and Ziwi Peak. The quality is unmatched in my opinion and the wet food has no fillers just good quality nutrients. To be honest I dont trust American Pet Food companies. The standards are non existent, they can put whatever they want in it. AFFCO is a joke.

My torti point meezer turned her nose up at Feline Natural freeze dried. however the feline natural canned she is addicted to. The bottom line is cats are obligate carnivores just like snakes and you wouldn't feed snakes grains, fruits nor vegetables. Never feed a cat dry food too many carbs, wet food diet only.

My cats like freeze dried deer meat the most at this moment.
