Maniac Cop a flawed but fun grindhouse thriller!

A retrospective review of Maniac Cop a 1988 action slasher film.

A film I first watched when I was 5 years old, having re-watched it as a 40 year old I can confim it's nowhere near as terrifying as it was then nor is it even a brilliant film, it is however a really entertaining one.

Essentially being 3 different movies in each of it's 3 acts...

0:00 - Intro
0:40 - Act 1 is fantastic
3:13 - Act 2 it's a police procedural now
4:03 - To social commentary or not to social commentary
4:59 - Act 2 is a let down
5:34 - Act 3 it's an action movie now
6:24 - The extended version is kind of pointless
6:48 - The cast are excellent
8:07 - Outtro
