wow, i never did a legion playthrough cuz i couldnt do it to my boy Boone, but ive thought about going back and experiencing it so i can have walked each path. But after seeing this? he's so ungrateful to you, and threatens you unnecessarily and seemingly just as a joke to stroke his own ego. I have to say i dont think hes all that greatly written of a villain, he doesnt come off as someone who could manipulate and lead a personality cult very well, he doesnt really seem all that smart or charismatic or intimidating, just kind of smarmy and arrogant. I could see him inheriting an empire from a greater man and this being his personality, but not creating one.
Maybe its the brain tumor changing him but its really hard to imagine this guy taming whole tribes of stronger men just because he knew how to reload a gun and had read some books.
Now Ulysses on the other hand.. i could see that guy leading an empire if he'd wanted to.

I’ve been playing Fallout 4 way too long. I was playing New Vegas last night, trying to get the Khans to break their alliance with Caesar, so I needed evidence of the Legion enslaving tribes to convince Regis. My reputation with the Legion was already dismal, so I just walked into Caesar’s tent and killed everyone with a grenade launcher. Totally forgot to keep a neutral reputation for strategic purposes.

I’ve got some soul-searching to do.

It would be cool if doing everything to please Caesar before meeting him just makes him view you as a very clear threat to his cult of personality. Some unaffiliated courier went and achieved things my entire Legion couldn't manage? By themself? A profligate, who now stands in my very camp with the ability to kill me and all my officers at a whim and no oath forbidding them from doing so? That's a danger the Legion cannot permit to live.
