Dragon warrior 3 has aged well too.
ОтветитьI feel like Mario RPG has actually poorly compared to other RPGs at the time. The other Mario RPGs have better platforming and timed hits that it makes the original harder to go back to. I think that Final Fantasy IV and V have aged better.
ОтветитьThank you for the SF2 mention, the CT heraldry, and not mentioning FFVI, as it’s nearly always on such lists. Not that I dislike FFVI, but the ability for every character to learn every spell, dilutes the flavor of the game after awhile, and the characters lose personality.
I’d have never known about the SF games if they’d not included them on Sega Channel for some months way back when. They’ve had a spot on my lists for 20+ years now, all because of that inclusion
All of these are such gems in which thankfully I own a lot of them.. I feel like that dude from Twilight Zone but instead of reading books til the end of time it’ll be playing games.. Hopefully i won’t lose my contact lenses haha
ОтветитьTake me back to the 90s. Best teenage years ever.
ОтветитьFinal Fantasy X is the GOAT. It's a shame that the 'ha ha ha' meme thing has become so prevalent, because every other aspect of the game is EXCELLENT.
ОтветитьMario RPG just got a Remake, which is bananas
ОтветитьOmg shining force II! I loved that game so much as a kid. So good memories thanks for reminding me!
ОтветитьFinal fantasy X has aged as well as any jrpg ever made in my opinion, when you consider that it was only released 4 years after VII and i think 5-6 years after Chrono trigger.
ОтветитьGolden sun is amazing and has very well aged.
ОтветитьWow Suikoden II must have been so mindblowing back in the past..it looks incredible
ОтветитьGrandia 1 >>>>> Grandia 2
ОтветитьStar ocean 2
ОтветитьGaming Broductions: - "Apart from Mario RPG, I started into JRPGs during the PSX era."
Me, playing RPG's from the ZX Spectrum's era: - "I don't care. Grate video, I loved it".
You had me until FFX, don't get me wrong, I do like the game. But there are so many better FF games that held up through the test of time. And it's definitely not the one I would suggest to people first starting into the series. That would be FFIV, FFVI or FFVII (not remake, though I would suggest they play that as well).
ОтветитьBreath of fire someone finally knows this game i loveed it back then and know aswell
ОтветитьPs3 Eshop has a lot of these games, many of which are not available on anything else. Please get them before they are gone. Many RPGs. Chrono Trigger/Cross, Grandia, Xenogears, all OG ff, tactics, suikoden, threads of fate, vagrant story, (a lot of these games have their sequels available as well), and mega man legends 1+2, Misadventures of Tron Bonne (physical copy over $1000). Most of these games and many other ps1/ps2 classics. Get them before the eshop closes. It already almost did. I know emulation is an option, but just fyi most of these classics are $6-$20.
Also, I know some of these have modern re-releases, but most of the time, it's worse in my opinion or just disappointing. I personally prefer a copy and paste port. Or a collection with some efforts made like the Mega Man/X/Z editions.
Anyway, if you want OG stuff on official hardware, there is a treasure trove of beauties on PS3.
Sadly, many of them won't make it out alive. It's a miracle. Some can like grandia 1+2, Chrono Cross, ff Crystal Chronicles (I know game cube/switch), but my point is the re-released products are usually worse, big time.
A lot won't exist in the future. Get it while you can.
