Would you buy one?
ОтветитьThey lost me when they launched the MK3. This is hideous and has the same grievous roof line as the MK5 Supra, which, itself, is an abomination.
ОтветитьJust put the dam 3 cylinder turbo engine in it it will sell so dam fast
ОтветитьDear god this is what the 3cyl was dremin to be inside
ОтветитьGreat concept and it should be a full EV. Hear me out. Acceleration is better with an EV but not top speed, but how often does one drive over 200 mph? The format should remain the same, but simply replace the ICE with a battery pack and electric motors in the mid-mounted position. It shouldn't have the battery pack spread out along the undercarriage like a Tesla. The mantra of the MR2 has always been performance gained by being lightweight and balanced, rather than blunt force, so it lends itself to the idea of a performance EV. The cooling would be facilitated by air intakes and liquid circulation and the design of the lithium ion cell itself. The battery pack on a Tesla was merely thought of as a large mass of lithium ion AA batteries, so airflow along the undercarriage to facilitate cooling made sense. More experimenting and engineering needs to be put forth; in other words, 120 years of ICE development can't really compare to 20 years of fully electric development, but we're getting there.
Ответитьspider ?
ОтветитьLight, electric and with MANUAL GEARBOX! dreams come true.
ОтветитьI bet this car will be on market before tesla roadster👌
ОтветитьLove this thing. Edit: oh.. it's ev, give my deposit back please
ОтветитьDo you think they'll just pay Porsche to build it for them like they do BMW for the new Supra?
ОтветитьEV. No.
Ответить👍I recieve it in Jesus name amen.
ОтветитьNo wouldnt buy it 1/ wont look like that, 2 be stupidly expesive, 3 EV it wont work or last
ОтветитьA damn shame this is a full-on BEV, but at least it actually looks pretty nice. I'm hoping Toyota will at least manage to keep this car as light as they can given how much heavier BEVs are on average.
ОтветитьThe GR hood badge is a pristine touch.
ОтветитьMake this the MR2 with the i3
ОтветитьLooks sick !!!
ОтветитьG HSBC
ОтветитьI absolutely hate the blue padded interior material. I hope that gets fixed after the first generation
ОтветитьMy first car was a 1987 MR2 with no AC. Bought it out of high school in Seattle. Somehow I never got a speeding ticket, but got lots of warnings. Been dreaming about the new one for a few years now. I'm guessing the batteries are right behind the seats to create a similar weight and balance performance as the 80s version. Hope I can get one when they come out. Sure I have four kids but they can take turns riding with me!
ОтветитьPriced right, I'd have one in a second
ОтветитьIf this actually makes it to production, without being "redesigned" and has actual next gen solid state batteries.. I might just be tempted to get an EV then.
Personally I'm fine with EV's, I'm just not buying into it until they refine the technology. (Primarily the batteries) Same sorta issue when they first mandated catalytic converters on cars, and eventually dpf/def on diesels. Just waiting till they get the issues ironed out.
Not liking it
ОтветитьBBB Bring Back Buttons
ОтветитьDrove a lot of miles in the first MR2. It was wedged and angular just like the FTSE concept. BUT, in the 80’s Japan was bold and fearless. The MR2 was Toyotas quick response to the Pontiac Fiero. The FTSE is a better idea than the current Supra.
ОтветитьCar of my dreams.
Ответитьgay looking design though
ОтветитьI’m not completely sold on electric vehicles but this car would definitely entice me to buy it. Having said that, I won’t get my hopes up because the last time I did, it was with the FT-1. I wasn’t totally disappointed because of the Supra but maybe their alternative to this won’t be as good. Toyota needs to stop toying with people’s emotions 🤣🤣🤣🤨
Ответитьnope. i love my MR2 Spyder turbo with stage 1 bodykit and hardtop.
ОтветитьToyota design is too much in my opinion. Porsche design is all about “less is more”
Ответитьwhen on side view the trunk looks like left open
ОтветитьGood chance Toyota will be in free fall by then unable to keep up with the other car makers and falling behind in bev manufacturing capacity
ОтветитьLooks great apart from the bloody touch screens and the yoke/joke steering wheel.
ОтветитьHydrogen the sh it out of it.
At least that way the car would be lighter than an electric car.
Looks like the lotus evora
ОтветитьWhen he said electric I immediately thought 😫😒🤬
Ответитьthis is no mr2 !
ОтветитьLooks good but the steering wheel is garbage.
Ответитьit looks like a wolf, like the lykan hypersport
ОтветитьThose wheel screens are gonna be very difficult to operate if you've angered the yakuza 😞
ОтветитьJust it’s a Pitty it runs on coal
ОтветитьI like it, it looks very good
Ответитьnow this looks production ready to me, and i hope they wont change anything about the styling as this thing is just beautiful!
ОтветитьElectric? You could get some great performance from that, but the infrastructure in the states does not exist not is the technology there. I have a Boxster now and I could how in and go for a drive and if I ran low on gas I can stop any number of places to fill up. You can't do that in an electric car not would it take a few minutes. I can't take it to the track because after a few laps how do I charge it up again. The technology is just not there to make it other then a toy for the very rich. It is beautiful but it is not viable as an electric. With a great engine in it it would be great.
ОтветитьSide profile is a shrunken R35 Skyline
ОтветитьLooks like a lotus if someone said make it future
ОтветитьSadly, it's an EV..
ОтветитьI’d rather drive a Cayman 4.0 GTS
ОтветитьPolestar 6, Nissan gtr, bmx i8, and McLaren, miss some one?
ОтветитьDon't care, still waiting for the Toyota SFR to leave the concept status.
