all these ideas will be great, but once airlines have operated and understood the routes you can bet your life away that the configurations will change to include more seats, so it may be 238 now, but in 5 years of operation it will probably be more like 338
ОтветитьFlew from LAX to SYD on the A380 (15 hours). It was comfy enough to feel like I was only on an 8-hour journey. Kudos QF.
Ответить2-4-2 configuration in premium economy is disappointing. Premium Economy on China Airline's A350-900 is 2-3-2
ОтветитьTo quote Joe Swanson from Family Guy, bring it on!
ОтветитьQantas might've started the decline of middle eastern airlines. I'm sure other airlines will take advantage of the A350-1000 and make the ultra long haul option more lucrative over flights with a stop over.
ОтветитьVery nice idea From QANTAS. A350-1000URL. Can be very good.
ОтветитьIt’s going to be amazing
ОтветитьPersonally as I can't afford first class, I would have to win the lottery big time to experience that level of comfort.
However as a regular traveller I do appreciate the Premium ecconomy section of the up comming A350-1000ULR, as specially if I can get an upgrade, as I have a airmiles card with a oneworld alliance member.
Although I would also like to experience the regular ecconomy class on this new type of aircraft as it doesn't look too cramped unlike other airlines that cram them in, not to name anyone at this time.
This is the most environmentally unsound way to fly long distances - it id FAR better to have a refueling stop instead of hauling fuel to haul fuel
ОтветитьWill wait to see the proper interior-not some artists impression but knowing Qantas, I'm sure it will be very well done.
Ответить9 abreast for 20 hours will be hell. What they should've done is merge the economy and premium economy, give everyone 8 abreast and they'd still have 32 inch pitch for every seat.
ОтветитьMalaysia Airlines, Thai Airways, Korean Air and Asiana all used to offer 34 inches of legroom in Economy in the early 2000's on all long haul flights, yet the best they can muster is 33 inches for a 20+ hour flight?
Ответитьgetting impatient for the Sao Paulo non-stop flight.
ОтветитьI really like it the only thing I kinda don’t like is the 3-3-3 layout in economy I think a 2-4-2 would’ve been better as 3-3-3 has a middle seat in each row
Ответитьman you could easily make a love story on that 15 hr flight😂
ОтветитьI would love to fly on one of these flights. That health zone accessible to all would be amazing.
ОтветитьThe quickest travel time between Sydney and London is 22hrs and 40 mins on Singapore Airlines. Qantas is offering a 19hr flight with project sunrise. How much more would people pay for 4hrs off your time?
ОтветитьNice one QANTAS!
ОтветитьI have a question. A350 1000 ULR can fly from London to Auckland?🤔. Because the flight from London to New Zealand is longer
ОтветитьIs it a guaranteed non stop, or will an upset like a patch of bad weather or wind make a stop necessary? I guess they would be aiming for a high success rate. What would the $ be compared to a one stop flight to London?
ОтветитьI think it should be illegal to have economy on flights like this. Just like Singapore’s Singapore to NY previous A340s. It cannot possibly be ok nor healthy to have an Economy seat for 20hrs+ even if you get up often.
ОтветитьTheres no such thing as an Airbus A350-1000ULR. Its a standard A35K with higher weights. Even Airbus doesnt market it as a ULR version. People just making up aircraft names.
ОтветитьThe flat bet isn’t.t parallel to the floor is highly uncomfortable Iberia use to have this configuration and was horrible
ОтветитьLike the idea of flying non-stop, but what are the fares per class?
ОтветитьIt’s absolutely amazing… think back to the days a flight from Frankfurt to New York took 19-21 hours and now we are talking about non stop from Australia to the UK !!! Absolutely stunning and amazing !!! 💪💪👍👍
ОтветитьThey should scrap economy because no mentally sound person would subject themselves to 20 hours upright, that would amount to torture.
ОтветитьI still think given the highly niche nature of the Project Sunrise flights, the plane should be configured with Business and Premium Economy class passengers only, just like what Singapore Airlines did with their A3350-900ULR's.
ОтветитьWrong aircraft choice should having been 777 9x better fuel economy faster flight time! And better cabins than airbus !
Ответитьin such a long range non stop flight, Eco seats should not be on offer. Pax comfort and health in this range are priorities. Cheap seats can stay in the shorter range aircrafts.
ОтветитьAs usual, if you fly cattle class expect nothing
ОтветитьHappy to give Dubai a miss- great city, hopeless airport due to size and distance to gates.
ОтветитьI am not sure if this will really work for good for Qantas airlines. The simple reason is that, these days airline planes are flying slower rather than faster perhaps to conserve as much fuel as possible, i can't be certain. So what is the point of 'project sunrise' if planes are made to fly slower anyway rather than faster? Will i pay more for a slower, much longer and somehow cramped direct flight on an airline to my destination? Certainly not...
ОтветитьAt least Qantas has shown to other airlines, what you can do for long and ultra long haul flights using a 4 class A350-1000ulr. The A350-1000ulr has opened up new opportunities for the A350-1000 variant putting pressure on Boeing's let to be built B777-8 sales.
ОтветитьBusiness class also gets a self serve bar zone.
ОтветитьHow many crew members will have to man these flights ?
ОтветитьLOVE the cabins Qantas a350 1000,will love to try it out
ОтветитьIt looks like 350-1000 ULR cabin will be near a380 comfort
Ответить33inches for economy isn't "extra space" or anything special. Many airlines have 33 or 34 as standard for economy.
ОтветитьWould fly if prices are reasonable
Ответить20 hours? Yikes 😱
ОтветитьNah
ОтветитьWhich range will be in 350-1000 ulr?
ОтветитьAustralian here, who has traveled to both Europe as well as east coast America from Sydney several times, and currently living in London. I literally don’t understand why ANYONE would want to fly Sydney to London or Sydney to New York City in a single flight.
Part of the “joy” or perhaps relief of such a long trek is the stopover that breaks up the journey, a chance to have a break in the stopover airport, and to change planes.
Flying the whole thing in one go? No thank you.
It will be a single stopover in Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok or Dubai (pick one) the next time I fly between Sydney and London.
From an environmental standpoint making that one extra refuelling stop would pay out huge in fuel savings. Carrying all the extra fuel to carry the fuel… to carry the weight of the fuel, airframe and cargo/pax is unnecessary waste of resources
ОтветитьCrewrest ?
ОтветитьSmart move from Qantas since 777x will enter to the service in 2025, too. Thus, they will see if 777-900 is actually suitable for the route or not so they can either switch to Boeing or put the a350-1000 in to service.
ОтветитьWe always see these plans for cabins before the services start. And the eventual layout is always one to cram in as many passengers as possible. Only if the aircraft becomes range limited will this extra space survive.
ОтветитьI am saddened to see that Quantas is having to go to Airbus for the aircraft it needs. The days when Boeing was the go to plane builder seem to be slipping away.
ОтветитьI would like to do the JFK-SYD route.
ОтветитьLove it 😀
