Having read Stephen King's Christine novel and watched John Carpenter's original 1983 horror movie adaptation of Stephen King's Christine book adaptation, imo Christine herself, or the sentient/self-aware diabolical supernatural force/female entity that possessed the 1958 Plymouth Fury from the beginning on the vehicle assembly line in the 1950's when Christine was first built as the first original 1958 Plymouth Fury showroom car before she was bought and purchased in the 1950's era of her prime by Roland D. Lebay. The first, original and former car owner of Christine who was described in his backstory in the book as being pure, true evil mortally incarnated in the flesh from birth onwards. Lebay was cruel, heartless, mean -spirited and violent sociopath his entire life to everyone around him that knew him. Including Roland's younger brother, also an elderly man by the beginning of the story, George Lebay. And under the evil, malevolent supernatural influence and demonic possession of Christine's self-aware diabolical female entity that possessed the car, which I believe was a succubus, Lebay became far more twisted, cruel and evil. Until his death halfway through the book as an elderly man. Lebay's evil mortal ghost possessed Christine and acted as her phantom/ghost driver, having possessed Christine in the afterlife by sacrificing both his late infant child and daughter, Rita and her mother, his late ex-wife, to Christine and allowed Christine to kill both his daughter and later his wife inside the Plymouth Fury her demonic entity possessed. A succubus is a demonic female entity that sedudes sleeping mortal human men. But instead Christine was a succubus that possessed a 1958 Plymouth Fury from the first day it was built on the car assembly line of the vehicle manufacturing plant in 1958. Before being bought first hand by a younger Roland D. Lebay. Who was also a retired war veteran and former U.S. Military combat soldier in his prime years. Christine in the book was always sentient/self-aware, malicious and demon possessed from the beginning as well. And in the book Christine and Lebay's evil spirit captured and absorbed the mortal souls of their human victims including Buddy Repperton and his juvenile deliquent bully gang members and minions killed by Christine alongside Lebay's ghost driving her as revenge for the bullies vandalizing Christine.

Jason Donovan would be just right for the part of the driver of Christine and if the character’s name was Scott. Jason is the most frightening Actor to cast.

Something changed Christine. The car fell in love. It stopped her from being a killer and she revived those she had killed. So she gave them their lives back. The way the car fell in love is terror.

That’s so cool how they had one of many Plymouth Furies or any other Plymouth vehicle that resembled a Fury get crushed by a hydraulic when John Carpenter and the rest of the crew did this scene after the rest of this movie was finished. Then after filming the car getting crushed by the hydraulic, they just played the footage in reverse to make it look like Christine was repairing herself.

What I do with this film is this : I have it where - when Christine is trying to murder Arnold in the end - something changes the car just in time. It makes the car have feelings. She turns on the radio. The Midnight Runners Eileen comes on. This is not silly like a lot of people may think but frightening.

I always thought the car had Nanotechnology since it made use of the mechanical self-repair.

The car couldn't have been possessed by Lebay - the first spiritual events happened on the assembly line. The worker lost his hand and the factory worker died in the car before it left the assembly line. I can only surmise 'Christine' was already possessed by an evil spirit from Hell before anyone actually owned it.

Look on the bright side less money for car repair.

It's the one thing i don't like about the movie; Christine can repair herself like this. In the book, she could only do it when she was moving so a big chapter involves Arnie pushing her around the wrecker's yard until she's able to start and run again. Something to do with the odometer running backward.

You know, I wouldn't mind seeing a crossover between Christine and Transformers. Honestly, that would make for a hell of a Halloween figure: Christine reformatted into a Decepticon with a mechanical succubus vibe.

The movie is weird. I mean if you had to pick over a chick or a car that repairs itself and doesn't require fuel - it's really a no brainer. Imagine how much $ you'll save not having to fill up or get new parts! Not to mention it can drive itself and act as security for your property...

I would say we need a remake but lets face facts they would botch up the whole movie

I think I might know how they did that. Christine was many cars. One was for driving in style, while the others were for scenes like this. If I’m correct, then that is smart thinking.

This movie and the DirtBike Kid movie were my favorite when i was a kid. They are very similar movies really except the bike doesnt kill anyone when it helps the kid.
