Subcribe & follow my TWITCH: blknificent
ОтветитьHow about if the user is from 3rd territories but his target audience is of 2nd and 1st territories? Then he won't be affected much right?
ОтветитьAt least my standpoint I stopped watching Twitch a lot lately - There is too much pressure to subscribe and I get on to watch and relax. Subscription is like a tip - If I like your content enough I will but if you pressure me I leave and not come back.
ОтветитьSo If I VPN into cheap country, can I get a cheap sub ? :D
ОтветитьBeing bilingual is better....
Me (MsAppletree): well, we almost hit 500 followers streaming English and Spanish... so gotta keep it up!
Other streamers: I've been affiliate for 3 months and still not rich? This is bs! angry face this too hard.
Sometimes the dry stuff, is also the important stuff, even if a lot of folks don't realize. Thanks for taking the time to cover and explain it!
ОтветитьThe UK kicks Merica's Ass :) on Bandwidth
ОтветитьDefinitely seems to be related to the attempted satellite internet program Amazon is launching to compete with Starlink... Space Race 2022 baby! I think they know for good or ill in regards to their own program, they should be seeing a small surge in access to the platform from that increased internet connectivity.
ОтветитьSuper interesting as always, but i would tentively dissagree with your correlation between 'sophistication of internet infrastucture' and spending power in regions. For example Ghana has an average houshold broadband speed of 52Mbps down and south africa has an average mobile internet speed of 45Mbps. Meaning twitchs idea might be better than you think in terms of aligning sub costs with spending power as many '3rd' teritory areas already have the infrastructure to support the growth... Also a good idea to keep in mind that twitch does limit the output bitrate for non partnered streamers and they could potentially tighten this further to increase the smoothness that streams would run on lower bandwith connections...
ОтветитьCould you make a video where u explain how to make an bilingual stream or what the excact idea of it is. Like how much should u speak in ur mothers language, should u stream in both languages? Should u stream in one language but also react to others etc.
Ответитьso, just theoretically speaking, could i use a vpn and count as a gr c citizen?
:)
As a creator on both platforms I really enjoyed this info! Some of my thoughts on how this change will work out were pretty well in line with yours. Thanks :)
ОтветитьI actually LOVE this kind of stuff! Please make more videos like this!
ОтветитьIsn't there another factor of how it will affect 2 and 3 group countries... they will get less money from sub's, BUT still pay Twitch 'Merican taxes. Am I wrong about that?
ОтветитьAverage doawnload speed in my country( Romania) is 16Mb/s(internet speed being 160Mb/s), and is a 3rd territory country (not world). I pay 12 euro/m for a 300Ms/s internet conection. But also, the minimun wage is 300 euro net, wich means 15 euro per day.The average teenager, who is the most likely to earn that money and wach twitch, wont pay 3 hours of work for a sub. Infrastructure is not everything. What I noticed is that the majority of Romanian Bits and subs Gifters(Which includes me) are working abroad(In 1st world countrys), so content creators from those second and 3rd territory country are financed by the "foreign money".
ОтветитьSome industries take a loss to do business in poorer countries. They will charge higher prices in 1st world countries to compensate for that.
ОтветитьI miss devin Sadge
ОтветитьPlease don't stop doing video like this on twitch. I enjoy learning about all this and you're the only content creator that is here for the creators.
ОтветитьLiving in Group B (But Twitch thinks that this is C I guess)
Cost of living less? - wrong, food and rent is the same as in A.
On other hand 100mb/s is like 8 usd in majority of big cities. 1gb/s is on my list of upgrades next year or so.
I cannot see how 3 time decrease in sub price would help streamers in my country. With local freebie culture I cannot see numerical increase in subs.
What if group C gifts to Group A? In this example I have a subset of the community that intentionally tries to target gift subs to individuals that are between prime subs... so essentially a lower revenue based on group c sub pricing going to a group a member that could have spent more?!?
ОтветитьNever solely rely on Twitch subs. Use kofi and streamloots
ОтветитьJust a way for Twitch to rob money from creator's.
Ответитьlol, this post explains so much about the state of twitch today :') Their entire logic is flawed so they're effectively just winging it like fuck it do it let's see what happens :')
ОтветитьWhat would stop twitch streamers from literal paying a buddy 100$ who lives in a 3rd world country etc and then he gifts whatever amount of subs worth of 100$ subs and now twitch pays the difference, so the streamer earns maybe 250$ as example ?
ОтветитьI hear you re bandwidth for living streaming, but transcoding.
The problem isn’t the technology it’s the loss of context when a stream drops.
Yes the note pad gameplay I was looking for
ОтветитьThought it was pretty self explanatory or maybe the average viewer cant understand it
Ответитьso I VPN to cheaper country to sub? sweet
ОтветитьSolution: just speak English.
ОтветитьSpain isn't a first world country compared to say the Netherlands, England or Germany. Although these 3 are being pulled down the drain without possible stoppage.
ОтветитьI think the people less affected, might be people from a 3rd world country, but are bilingual, and their target audience is on a 1st category territory.
As long you are not from Argentina, where forced convertibility, and insane taxes screw you over 🙃
Your timeless advice of try to expand into alternative streaming sites, still stands, and now more than ever.
Let me know if I picked up what you put down. So boom. We got USA country X. And let's make up another country Y. $1 US makes 1.5Y. To counter Y users paying $5 US ( 7.50Y) they will change Ys payment to 5 Y . which would be $3.33 US. To make streamers happy. TWITCH WILL make up the difference? But a tier 1 is usually 50% so they just aren't taking their cut as much?
ОтветитьMarket needs more competition. This is insane.
ОтветитьOH WELL .MORE EARS TO LICK I GUESS.
ОтветитьI live in rural Missouri and I wasn't able to watch Twitch streams until I upgraded my internet last spring (watching Netflix/Hulu was fine). Anecdotal substantiation to theory that areas of bad internet can't watch Twitch even if they want to.
ОтветитьIf they didn't touch the share of Prime Subs, everything would be a lot better
ОтветитьI've never subbed and never will.
ОтветитьDevin I watch your videos for the combination of business/marketing in relation to the gaming world. Not for the drama.
ОтветитьI think it cancels each other out. People get "less" but more people want to buy sub now.
Ответитьlot of this going around.
Ответитьeveryones just gonna vpn to thailand now
Ответитьgreat to see some content from you! been missing the streams
ОтветитьI don't agree that in 1st Territory Countries nothing happens. For Example in Germany Sub Prices dropped from 5€ to 4€. If a Creator is streaming from Germany for a German audience, you will get 20% less income from subs. So we have to see if the subs will increase over time to cover the 20%. For all the rest I agree with you. I don't have a lot of insight but I think most bigger streamers are making more money through placements than from subs.
ОтветитьFYI, I skip your videos and read the notes you write to save time. Good for me, not so great for you view time :/
Thanks for the videos though!
your technical content is always my favorite.
