This mans a master of dynamics and nuances. And you can see the passion he's got for music.
This dude must've felt wrecked after this class, but he definitely has gotten put of there with a much clearer understanding of music.

Needs heavier orchestral sound . Gilel should have played this Sonata it takes that kind of energy and deep sound that fills up a room .

Epic almost fight like or hunting scenes, combined with the lyrical should be distinct at the main themes as well as at the short motives that Brahms loves. Motivic development is important to understand if you play Brahms, because he injects heroic dotted rhythms as a conterpoint to the secondary lyrical theme and vice versa, apart from many other things that he does in his music. The student tempted to play everything on the lyrical side with unnecessary softness in his touche.

I have the impression some things needed to be really corrected here, in spite of the student, who has got a 'Bravo!' at the end. Brahms music is very complex, also this sonata op. 1.
I admire the master's combination of friendliness, strictness, quietness und patience. Great! And I guess, for the student a processing to internalization and spiritualization has started! Dominic, I wish you very much success, and toi toi toi!
