I hate corporations that exploit workers and drive "Mom & Pop" businesses out of their competition. I've never done the Joja Mart side of Stardew Valley for that very reason. That said, you make some interesting points, and I might be tempted to try a play-through siding with them. Maybe.

I’m on my first play through. I suck at gathering stuff, and with Joja I am farther ahead than I ever would be with community center

Plays a relaxing game about getting away from cities and corporations.
Sides with what is essentially this games version of Amazon.

As an on again off again casual player, i didn't know the joja mart fixed the green house and stuff with money at first. Then when i found out that it did in my first serious playthrough, i chose it over the CC. Everyone is saying the CC helps you learn but it doesn't. It wants you to get certain things to unlock MAJOR items but doesn't tell you how and even if you know you're following a guide most likely. With Joja play how you want, save 140k and boom done.

Idk if anyone remembers but in the intro, the farmer actually works at a joja corporate office before leaving. When i first saw the jojamart after the game started, i thought wait that's where i woreked before and there's no way i'm helping them out lmao

I decided to go the joja route for the first time on my current playthrough, and the fact that i had the greenhouse unlocked before the end of the first spring has instantly made this route better than the community center for me lol

i finished joja earlier today. way more relaxing than community center. I can just fish all day without worrying about accidentally selling a fish i need for a bundle. and its so surprising to me that only 4.3% of people have completed joja (on steam)

i think joja is bad, you say that trophy is useless but 2800 a year isnt much and in this throphy is so much grind and its very nice to have and joja is just speending money so if i had everything because of joja i woud only be sad because i skiped so much of this vonderfull game

The only reason I can't finish the community center is the fish tank I wanted to fish a eel or walleye at night in the secret woods but I kept getting woodskip and carp and the ghostfish I don't know what habitat it lives on

I joined Morris because he stole Pierre's customers. Respect for that man. Pierre sucks

I chose CC because it gaves me warm feelings and makes me smile a tiny bit! Also my smile gets wider when i realize i just made Shane and Sam unemployed.

It sounds like easy vs hard mode if you get down to the game mechanics of it. Id be interested in doing a playthrough as a corporate sellout. But ngl I'm really enjoying the very deep, challenging storyline of the normal play through as a new player.

Shame there's not a third option, like simply opening your own farmer's market and underselling Pierre AND Morris.

I know short-form content is basically the way now, but I’m not gonna lie, I’m terrified because (while I admittedly have no proof) I legit feels like TikTok suppresses my content, no matter what I try.

That being said, I did hit affiliate on Twitch in 2 months and I think it was because I became part of a few communities before I ever went live, I had developed a brand very early on, and I’m pretty sure I’m a more unique demographic as a streamer. Will I get to partner if I stay the course? No, but I’m not afraid to at least make “regular” content too.

I dont like Pierre and i dont like Morris either, but i speak for the junimos.

I do understand the benefits, but isn't it the whole point of the game that you left your big city and boring job to be in a smaller community? Then, if you choose to stick with Joja it's just contradicts you main motivation.

this is exactly how i would imagine a joja mart propaganda piece would be. Full of lies and half truths. Yea, id rsather see shane drink himself to death working at joja rather than becoming a rancher with his blue chickens. Cashier works as a chasier for the theather after that. SAm starts working at the Museum. Even the delivery driver has a job after this. The only person without a job is morris. lmao
