ОтветитьI currently have a klx230 dual sport and ride mostly in the desert on slower technical trails. The 230 has enough power for me, but he suspension is horrible. I am thinking about an xtrainer given I am still learning and am 5'8. Thoughts?
ОтветитьI'm 47 been riding dirtbikes for 41 years. .... best intro. Don't get a 450f! 😂😅😂.... I've never had one. I seen them bin to many people 😂. That were actually experienced riders 😅
ОтветитьGreat video-
ОтветитьAfter riding on road since 1986 I tried a dirt bike about 7 years ago. It was not a good fit. First it was a 450 - bad I know. Then I could not shake techniques used on the street that just do not apply in the dirt. Also there just seemed something wrong about jumps. I ride liter bikes and if both wheels come off the ground it’s generally a bad day. lol. I really still would like to ride dirt so maybe try a 250 and find an instructor.
Ответитьhow bout a good bike for sandy trails.?
ОтветитьAt 47 and not riding at all in 25 years. A good mate talked me into a 300 2t for our local single track. I got a 2017 beta 300rr. What an awesome beginner bike. Such good low end power. You can chug and lug around and the angine never quits. 5 years on and now ride about 10 litres of fuel a week.
ОтветитьTo break it down more. I spoke with a motor cross pro. I was picking his brain. He asked me, “what type of riding did I plan on doing?” I told him trail, woods, cross country. He pointed at his 4 stroke motor cross Honda and said “do you see my bike there?” I said “yeah, nice bike!” He said it hasn’t left that spot in 4 years. He said whatever you do, DO NOT purchase a racing bike for trail riding. It is a pain in the butt and not fun. Those bikes are meant for all go wide open racing. He said find a trail bike. You will enjoy riding. Still plenty of go and speed, but way more controllable. He and I bike mechanic who fixes motorcycles and dirt bikes said he felt Honda’s were the best. Easier, more affordable/more available parts. Tend to break less. He said either 4 stroke or 2 stroke would be fine, but 4 stroke tend to have an issue with over heating or running hot. The pro said he wanted to go back to a two-stroke again.
My question is how do you guys like the brand Beta? Are they Italian? Also, KTM? Best bang for your buck? Thanks!
What is the best bike for riding on soft sand and beaches?
ОтветитьMy KTM 200EXC is just brilliant. Super light. Not so much punch you get freaked. I ride with guys on 450’s on trails, some I can’t keep up with, some can’t keep up with me
ОтветитьWhat’s a good bike if you genuinely just wanna ride around the neighborhood or the neighborhood woods ? Like I’m not tryna go pro or do nothing crazy .. I just want a good bike to just ride around 😅 any suggestions?
ОтветитьIm starting out and I got on my hubbys 250cc I just couldn’t handle the weight of it made me but anxious what size u recommend
ОтветитьBecause i live on the East Coast (North Carolina), I'll stick with a dual sport. But if i lived out west, out in the open, I would definitely get a dirt bike!!
ОтветитьI currently ride the klx300r. If I wanted to jump onto a 2 stroke what would you recommend?
I only do trail riding. Looking for something a little lighter as well.
Could you use a trail bike on a motocross track for training, or would that be frowned upon 😊?
ОтветитьWhen I was 13 years old I bought me a 250 and a 125 . Both were fast and fun . I preferred the 125 for most of my riding sessions because of the lower weight . The 250 for fast days and hill climbing . Later on graduated to a 500 and maaaaaan are they powerful and fast . I would put 250 emblems on the 500 and race with my buddies . 😂 I was taller and heavier than they were and I would leave a trench with dirt and rocks flying behind me . They didn’t want to go riding anymore . 😅
ОтветитьMostly beach and dune riding, some trail.
I started on a forza140bf, the small wheels made it hard to get up to speed and the front wheel would just stop dead if you went too slow, blew out a knee and then broke a few ribs. So I got a drz250, awesome bike, i fitted a wider tyre, smaller back sprocket, derestricted the exhaust, it was great on trails and technical stuff, but it didn't have enough power for the soft sand, I struggled to keep up and actually couldn't get through some places. Then I got a crf450r with a high comp piston, exhaust, and some head work, awesome bike with heaps of power I just keep two fingers ready on the clutch incase, only problem is it overheats when going too slow
What about someone thats been riding powerful bikes on the road? Can we go a bit bigger? Especially if we are riding to the trails, i rode a Drz 450 i first time no fear at all when used to arm ripping of an 848 or 1000
ОтветитьHey man I went to the ktm dealership today and they offered me a exc350f they said the 150xcw was not enough for climbing hills. Is this bike for hard enduro?
ОтветитьRieju Ranger 200 or 300, Beta Xtrainer, Husky TE150,
ОтветитьHello, I am a beginner and live in Germany. Unfortunately, you are only allowed to drive on closed routes or on your own property. Can you also drive well with the Beta 200rr on the motocross track? Which Enduro can you recommend for a beginner who doesn't yet know what he wants to do? Thanks
ОтветитьI didn’t know dirt bikes was so expensive 🤣🤦🏾♂️
ОтветитьWhat about farm or hunting use. Do not need anything that will rip. Just to follow my kids around on their bikes and quads
ОтветитьYou say don’t buy a 450F … and , to a point, I agree … BUT the KTM EXC450F is very easy to handle on trails and even sand !! It’s a gentle baby, that can rip when you need it to.
warmest regards
super channel
My dad got me a ktm 250cc two stroke as an unconfident beginner and it was so bad I didn’t get a bike until 5 years later, now I’m looking for my third bike on this video
ОтветитьIf 6.5 300+ then it does make difference
ОтветитьSam the only thing I would add is some events require a license plate and a headlight and taillight. The Betas and KTM enduro bikes are a little more ready to go in that regard as they are factory equipped. Im 58 yrs old and run a Beta X trainer and love it. I ride dual sports and enduros.Bikes such as the CRF 250 F will have to be equipped with those items after purchase if needed, but can be done…
ОтветитьReally nice break down. Good to have this info in one spot, thank you. Lots to unpack, will rewatch. Was leaning towards 350 xcf, but many say it needs to be riden aggressively, and it’s not plush . I am looking for plush cross country bike, no hard, Enduro. 6’2 220 and 45yr. First dirtbike, but I have plenty of track time on street bikes 600s. Hoping some of this transfers over, clutching anyways. Maybe a Honda 250 F, but looks pretty basic with suspension and adjustments. Do you need need more? Something to grow into. I did sit on a 23 xcfw, and my knees come up higher..I guess because it’s lower.
ОтветитьIs there any cheap bikes?😂
ОтветитьI think ill go for a yz 125 first to get use to it
ОтветитьHowdy folks, my name is Brian, I am looking into a motorcycle. I found a Yamaha TT125 for $1,200 and the only thing I will do to it is make it street legal, I don't mind riding a trail once in a while, but I think I found a good choice as one who is beginning his motorcycle journey.
ОтветитьEGL A16 250CC Dirt Bike 5-Speed Manual with Zongshen CB250D-F Engine PE30 Carburetor what about this one? It’s one that I found on Amazon
ОтветитьYou should have included the KX500.
ОтветитьWould a yamaha wr250r be a good choice for offroad?
ОтветитьI wish this video (or the internet in general. Lol) would’ve been available when I started riding.
I wasted so much money, did so much needless maintenance, got hurt way too many times, all for a over priced, stiff suspended, finicky, no warrantee, no creature comforts race bike OR race snowmobile, because I had to have the ‘cool race version’.
I look back and it’s dang near devastating to me that I wasted my whole life doing my favorite thing, riding, on equipment that wasn’t the right choice when I had a choice.
Newbies, listen to this guy, I wish I would’ve been better informed and more open minded.
Funny how you know everything at 16, then grow old and realize you knew absolutely nothing.
Great video.
Any recommendations for an experienced beginner who will be riding trails in Colorado that is about 6’6/6’7? Spent time on a TTR but it felt way too small.
ОтветитьI went with the 300 xc w even though i didn't need the 300 it ran by far the best at low speeds and really has that low end grunt . I just found it an easier bike to ride for me . But you have to watch out for that big power it can catch you off guard
ОтветитьINSANE the amount of people buying ktm models as entry bikes.... the best beginner bike without question is crf250f from honda... I have every ktm cc out put two stroke 125 250 and 300 they are not beginner bikes at all I have 250, 350, 450 sxf and they are NOT beginner bikes! I have pitbikes ranging from 50cc - 190cc. I have air cooled and liquid cooled... AIR COOLED 250 is the best beginner bike anything else is overkill for a beginner. 125 motocross bikes and up are RACE machines not just dirt bikes. If you're going to ride motocross start learning on a trail bike CRF250F and when you can shit on that bike then it would make sense to upgrade to a race caliber bike. Beginners should not be doing motocross at all they should be learning to ride a motorcycle first not tackling obstacles and off road terrain until they can actually ride a motorcycle period.
ОтветитьAwesome video breakdown. I am new to off-road riding and want to try a little bit of everything from trail riding to motocross track riding. If I had to choose one style of bike to try it all with which would you recommend?
ОтветитьBe honest about what kind of terrain you will be riding most. The 2T bikes are better the steeper it gets. The 4T bikes generally have a longer range and cruise flat ground with less effort.
ОтветитьI'm from indonesia brother.. What ur suggest mostly not good for us.. Because those bike are too expensive for us.. Averege people here could only afford klx 150 or crf 150L dual sport dirt bike.. Im using 200cc chinese Viar cross GT.. Like some people say.. The best bike is the 1 u can afford wkkwwk
ОтветитьI'm a trail rider who went CRF230 > WR250F > FC350 > TE300 (carb). In the end kinda wished I had just started on the 300!
One thing you didn't really mention is how tunable the pre 2019 300s were. You can put in the green spring, and use the mild map, and have a very detuned 300 w/ <40HP. 5 minutes later you can throw in the red spring, flip the map switch, and turn it into a fire breathing 52HP monster!
The other aspect worth considering as a beginner is parts. You're gonna wipe out, and you don't want to be waiting for parts. It's really hard to beat Honda, Yamaha or KTM when it comes to that.
Great video. For “hard enduro” single track style riding, don’t forget the trials bikes. They are cheater bikes and can provide an excellent platform for training and development of skills. They are generally cheaper and some even have “long range” kits with bigger gas tanks and small seats.
ОтветитьI'd go with electric start.
ОтветитьWhat's so cool about e start? This world is turning pussy
ОтветитьIf you can do basic work on it the bike 2 stroke will always be cooler and put a smile on. You face way more
Ответить67 years old, did motocross in the mid 70’s Yamaha. Roadraced in the 80’s RZYamaha, now I trail ride a 150te Husky and I love it. Fuel injected always run great, electric start, wow is that nice we you stall it on a hill. I’ve always preferred to ring the neck of a smaller engine than be afraid of a CR500, you could loop that thing at any speed!
ОтветитьHonda CRF250F, inexpensive and forgiving.
ОтветитьGreat informative video. I am 5'6 in height and I'm thinking about traveling around the world including riding through he Himalayas. I'm not much into big power but I am leaning towards small bikes so which bikes you would recommend for me? Thanks in advance.
ОтветитьYamaha yz175 or 250
Ответить
