Stellar pairings.
ОтветитьYou’re all bleedin crackers.
Egg n chips followed by jelly and evaporated milk will do me just fine tvm
First of all, your jacket, shirt, and handkerchief have convinced me that I dress like a lumberjack. Hopefully, I will survive this sartorial humiliation. This dining experience in Norway looks incredible. Maybe this will help convince my wife to go back to Norway with our children. I hope that you will one day visit Koks in the Faroe Islands. It has one Michelin star. My wife and I were lucky enough to go there when it was still in the Hotel Føroyar in Tórshavn. The last time we were in the Faroe Islands, Koks had opened its new location in a farm house, and the waiting list was for many months, so we could not go. It was amazing in the hotel, and I am sure it is absolutely magical in its current location.
ОтветитьYour enthusiasm is beyond any imaginable limit. Thank you for showing us the art of dining in these types of restaurants.
ОтветитьWoooooow what a restaurant and the food looked amazing i realy enjoy your Channel
ОтветитьLove your videos. I have a question. 2017 Conterno Barolo...How did the lamb stand up to the young tannins? Or were the tannins softer than I assume?
ОтветитьHands down one of your best videos. Keep them coming!
ОтветитьA true and perfect guest, so glad I found this channel.
ОтветитьSnobby crap
ОтветитьLovely review. Not to take sides, but by not giving you a new napkin after breaking one of their super expensive plates designed by the chef is almost like going to a museum and breaking a wardrobe hanger… aka not a big deal lmao tricked you
ОтветитьI really recommend Re-NAA in Stavanger (2 stars) as another option in Norway. The service there is the best in the country, and it has the best sommelier as well.
ОтветитьTHE BEST WAY TO SERVE WINE I LIKE IT
ОтветитьThis guy be talking like it's a powerpoint presentation in school
ОтветитьThought you were Alfie Haaland first
ОтветитьI'll take a bacon hotdog from circle k thanks
Ответитьi will never understand those people who spend this much money for food :D
ОтветитьThis explains the stupidity of the whole world.
ОтветитьAm i the only one that thinks the plate design looks like it comes from a oven tray with burnt in grease? 🤣
Ответитьamazing story telling video
Ответитьlooks like we visited in the same week. It's a fantastic restaurant but I must admit I may be spoiled. Because the style and quality is in fact very close to another good restaruant in Norway, Re-Naa. Which is slightly less expensive but also has more servings. Maaemo is a winner but Re-Naa wins even more. I must mention that Maeemo sliced our bill brutally hard for what in my view was only very slight complaints but I guess that also goes to show for superb service and attention to the customer. But I would certainly not dare to make any complaints again!
ОтветитьIt's quite silly to use the words another "Norwegian Classic" for any of this, because none of it has any resemblance to classic nowegian courses. For example the excessive use of aromatic oils has never been a part of norwegian cuisine. Traditionally we use pure dairy butter, but no oils whatsoever in norwegian dishes. Not a single thing served at maemo can be even remotely considered to be norwegian classics, with the exceptions being some of the base ingredients. You sir, have been had. Even the prices asked for their food is as non-norwegian as can be, and akin to posh restaurants in other parts of the world. That said, I'm sure it all tasted rather good, but hardly worth the price. The whole thing is just snobbery, and has nothing to do with real food. You can have the same level of snobbery other places for a fraction of the cost, but with the same level of detail and workmanship going into it. I have no doubt as to the workmanship, but real food it ain't, and never will be.
ОтветитьAs the /w/-sound does not exist in Norwegian, and the letter W is pronounced /v/, Norwegians speaking English may often hypercorrect by pronouncing both V and W as /w/ or switch them, Bloody annoying. Btw. im norwegian.
ОтветитьWatching these kinds of restauraunts always piss me off. I can never understand the appeal and behaviour/reason why people like it. I have incredibly sensitive taste buds so I can tell the difference between things/what I'm eating etc(I also taste the shit in american chocolate, slight hint of chloride in water etc). And I have never had one of these gormet dished stand out and make me think like; this is the best thing I've ever had, I need to come back here, so wth is going on? are people litterally only caring about status/expensive, looks/art, surroundings/feelings and then mediocre ingredients that become decent when done in that way? Or do people actually think that the food is the best tasting in the world? Like, I would never pay the price it costs to go on one of these restauraunt myself, but I have no issue spending 500$ on kbbq.
ОтветитьThey moved literally 350 meters away, closer to the water. It wasn’t from the east side to the city centre. It was from a neighbourhood in the city centre to the waterfront. Just saying.
ОтветитьNever seen pinecone jelly before, sounds very interesting with regards to texture vs flavor.
Actually the entire selection sounds absolutely delicious..
So, everything is German. While it is managed by someone from Finland.
Ответитьvisit oslo again and ill invite you home. i can offer you some pasta with 56 nok tomato sauce topped with delicate sriracha sauce, served with a beer called juicy ipa
ОтветитьIf you ever go to Oslo, make sure to check out Pontus new place. Kolonialen up at Bislett.
ОтветитьWow local wine from around the world.lol😅😅😅
ОтветитьIt's easy to say that high-end restaurants like this is merely fanciful playground for the rich elite, and just over-hyped, overhyped luxury. But after saving money and going to a couple of them to see what its all about, I stand corrected. I've had several experiences I remember years later. I now spend my money on experiences, not things, and I urge people to do the same. Don't do it if you cant afford it obviously, but a night in a place like this, is in many ways a memory for life, and its hard to put a price one that.
ОтветитьMaaemo is actually surprisingly affordable if you compare what you pay to what you get.
I really need to go there one of these days. Maybe next time I'm in Oslo.
Oslo is not on top of Norway btw.... Nordkapp (North Cape) is...
ОтветитьWell you pay this amount of money for about a days worth of food here in norway these days so relatively speaking this restaurant isn't that expensive!
ОтветитьWhat most people doesnt know is that Norway is the country with most Bocuse d'Or awards.
ОтветитьThat's a lot of wine compared to so little food. Full glasses of wine for a serving that contains one or two bites. And choosing a steak knife? It just seems a bit pretentious.
And the fact that the sommelier works on her birthday isn't sweet, she probably doesn't want to work on her birthday regardless of what she says to her customers.
Dang it! I wished this expensive dishes just looked like art with weird taste, but this all look wonderfully good 😩
ОтветитьSå...han er dansk.
ОтветитьHay butter?
ОтветитьLoL this barolo is an ovepriced joke
ОтветитьSo a Danish and Swedish guy opening a restaurant in Norway with a Finnish name. Way to leave out Iceland
Ответить🤡
ОтветитьCan the tastebuds handle all of those tasty foods? :o
Ответитьive been to resturant like this . the food is wasted on me
ОтветитьThis community must be one of the most positive I've ever seen, all the comments are just too cute. Speaks volumes about the kind of people you're videos attract, Another banger as always Alexander, thanks for the excellent content!
