Curious did you do the firmware update? I had all sorts of robotic audio distortion and then it just cleared up and went away after I did the firmware update for Rev 5.

Def Furman power conditioner for big events. I have the straight furman power strip and it’s been flawless. I have like 3 of them.

Bad brain in it. Processor is cooked. Happens a lot due to microchip companies demand and supply issues. Pioneer is notorious for this

Hey Aaron. Just mentioned on Dj Pecks post last night about a new PA system thats just dropped in the UK called the DAP Frigga 12. Dual 12” sub with 6 x 4” column drivers with compression driver too. Look really nice and had a convo with a guy thats just got a set. Said they bump and punch WAYYY above their price tag. Sub seems pretty tall but not V heavy so prob grab a set in white. Not sure if they’ll make it across the pond but if it does as well as expected over here then maybe. Or get one of your contacts to take a look at the company. 😂 great vid as always 💪

That picture thing of the couple’s wedding doesn't strike me as a selling point to other potential clients…regardless if they have malicious intent. I have a 50% non-refundable deposit that has been working well for me. If they cancel a minimum of 14 days beforehand, their deposit is transferable to another client or they can postpone their event up to a year. If I facilitate contract transfer, only half of the deposit is transferable.

There was an issue with the audio driver in the earlies ... but the last update sorted that issue out. Idk if u had the most updated drivers. So far mine with vdj has been fine - everything updated except the new macOS.

I use vdj for hours ( 3 - 7 )with thddj 800/ ddj 1000/ ddj 400/ rev5 and never had dropouts. Did 3 gigs last wk with the 1000. All good.

Rekordbox on iPad not as good as DJay...no stems, no video, beat grids not as good

I carry a Numark Mixstrem Pro as backup all the time. Sits on the floor behind me. All in 1. Perfect for backup to my Prime2. Same software. Also I love the IEC power supply for the Prime 2. Safer than a USB C in my opinion.

Use the controller on your Serato on an off day for like 4/5 hours and see if it happens. You can put it on a auto Playlist for the majority of the time.

Alpha Theta 4 is entry lvl 6 is mid tier and 10 is top of the line in Pioneers CDJ style controllers..... They use odd numbers for their turntablist systems 1, 5, 7 I think they skip numbers because they thought they would make others in between.
15" Sub 70lbs is lightweight for a 15
Whenever I buy a controller, I buy 2 of the same, 1 stays in the console, one goes on my desk for practice, the practice one gets in a lightweight carry case and goes to the gig too, just in case.

the specs on the power adapter you have says 5Volts at 3amps (MAX) problem with the MAX part is that it doesn't specify if you're truly getting 3Amps when sharing power with other ports, think RMS vs PEAK on speaker power ratings. maybe 3A if you use it ONLY for the Controller without anything else connected to it. I would stick to the factory one if possible, the Pioneer Rev 5 uses 5V/3A aka 5V/3000mA. The Pioneer power supplies probably handles that or a lil more, and again is only supplying power for the controller so no issue there. If you need to use an aftermarket, buy one that has a higher current rating than your device, specially if it's an adapter that is sharing power with other devices. The higher rating on the power adapter only means that the max the adapter can handle not what will be sent to your controller. the rating on the controller/device is the highest rating of current that the device uses so in the case of the Rev5 it uses 3A(3000mA) at 5V. Which means that whatever adapter you buy, the Rev5 will try to pull 3A(3000mA) from the adapter. If the adapter is rated at say 6A(6000mA) then that means that the Rev5 will pull 3A(3000mA), leaving the adapter with plenty of headroom. The Voltage needs to be the exact same on both (5V), but the current (amps/mA/A) on the power adapter needs to be Same or Higher. I would opt for and adapter of higher 4A at least, if you're using all the USB ports or multiple ports I would aim for something with more current capacity

I think I had an issue with the Rev5 in the beginning where for a split second the audio cut out. Check to make sure you are on the latest firmware. Also most importantly I bought a usb c chroma cable to connect to computer. I don’t remember any audio cut outs in a long time.

Quite a few 15" subs are under 60 pounds....my RCF 705s are under 60. I definitely think it's doable for a 15" column.
Heavier than that and it's a pain. Literally.

It VJ that happened with me with my flX 10 A DJ came to play with Vj in a club when you hooked up, all the music stop playing only1 red light was on. It’s virtual DJ causing the problem.

- “This isn’t a wedding controller”. Correct. While I’m not saying a person couldn’t use this well in a wedding, there are in fact DJs who are not mobile DJs or aspire to be. There are pro level products for wedding DJs, and there are products made to be an accessible way to get close to a CDJ DJM feel, for under $1000. The next option up is at $1599.
- “Why 6?” Going back to the DDJ-1000, we saw several models like the DDJ-400 and DDJ-800. Every number more or less represents a tier. When the FLX series started, two zeros were dropped from the number. DDJ-1000 evolved into the FLX10, and DDJ-400 evolved into the FLX4. The DDJ-FLX6 sits between the DDJ-FLX4 and the FLX10, and also below the DDJ-800 tier (there is no FLX8). The GRV6 sits at a tier under the current FLX10 above the FLX4. It’s a new series because of the Groove Circuit hence the name.
- “This isn’t professional”. It makes no claim to be, there are pro controllers for the pros, like the DDJ-FLX10 and DDJ-REV7. This controller evolved from the DDJ-FLX6 which only had RCA.
- “It doesn’t have XLR”. TRS is a balanced capable output, which can easily be used with TRS/XLR adapters or cables. If a person is going to a club and needs XLR, the solution is to carry a $12 pair of adapters in your case. Fun fact, in recording studios, to save space and to have bi-directional use of cables, the audio interfaces, patch bays, and sometimes the cable running to the studio speakers are run with TRS cables. Most of the discussions online are from the lack of understanding that TRS is balanced.
- “Who needs 4 channels?” I awknoledge that you don’t. But not every DJ is aspiring to be your kind of DJ. I’m not saying that to be insulting. I think it’s great we have a diverse community of DJs with different goals and creative approaches. But with many circles, DJs often forget that that they’re kind of DJing isn’t the only kind of DJing. There seems to be a tendency sometimes to conform and not accept DJs that aren’t the same. I’m trying to show that we’re not all the same. Fun fact, did you know that there are first world countries that have little to no mobile DJ industry at all? Japan and several European countries are a some of them.
- “Do they ask DJs what they want?” Yes they do. Several evaluations happen leading up to the launch. For this product, it probably wasn’t a heavy set of mobile DJs, because again, this product’s target isn’t for the mobile DJ. With that said, the balanced outputs, improved beat FX controls, and smoother jog were direct results of years of feedback from the DDJ-FLX6. With that said, the reason the FLX10, REV7, AZ, and even the OMNIS-DO have two microphone inputs is because of feedback from mobile DJs.
- “A bedroom DJ doesn’t need that, all these channels will just confuse them.” Does it seem far fetched that at some point, perhaps a bedroom DJ might grow? And there might be a step or two between a $259 DJ controller and a $1599 DJ controller?

- “I don’t think this will fly off shelves”. I’m not here to convince anyone to buy this bc I would imagine this isn’t the product made for you or the audience. But I have to share, that the last time online outrage about DJ gear, it was followed by folks complaining the unit was on back order several weeks later. Point being, not everyone is the same type of DJ.

The GRV6 is a mid range controller and it’s a tool for learning not just for you bub.

Also, we already swap drums with stems! This is just utilizing samples.

I love all you new DJs! Do a little research and you’ll see that Vestax came out with a mixer that did something similarly!

I didn’t get a chance to read through all your comments, so I’m not sure if anyone suggested this, but I had the same issue that you’re having with your REV5 with my old S9. Literally the same exact issue and the only thing that worked for me, and I’m not even sure if this is a permanent fix yet but so far the past few months since it happened has been good, was unload the firmware and reload it back on. I’ve been told that depending on the way you power down certain items that the firmware can get corrupt on equipment. Try that if you haven’t already. You can get the new or old firmware on the Pioneer site itself.

i borrowed a friends ddj 1000 and it crashed serato. ended up being the windows sound output switched to the ddj so i had to select sound card for windows and ddj for serato
