ОтветитьThat car does not look well balanced. Already in earlier corners you can see that the car is nervous mid corner, and the driver is hesitant to stay smooth on the limit. Maybe stiffer suspension to limit body roll?
ОтветитьKnow what? I think I'll stick to FR. That sudden unpredictable loss? Shit. I don't need that happening in traffic. Lmao
Ответитьyoud think with the suspension upgrades that wouldnt be as much of a thing
ОтветитьWhich game is this?
Ответитьit's no a problem, it's a feature
ОтветитьWhen the rear wing needs to be that large there's an issue.
ОтветитьI wouldnt call it poor skills, the man has skill its just the weight distribution of this car is something hard to master
ОтветитьSNAP oversteer is extremely rare but does happen in mid/rear engine RWD vehicles. It's usually just lift-off oversteer, however.
ОтветитьIts real, but depending on person and team most the it can be tuned out pretty easily. Maybe not this one but a lot of the better ones i've seen and talked to drivers the front vs rear spring bais basically swaps compared to stock setups, few other things to keep tail stable and then its a sweetheart. With more stock like setups the rear ends up acting a bit like a swing axle, but good news is its not, so its far from impossible to fix. Hell on the 93-95+ you can fix vast majority of it by just lowering the rear 1 inch/25mm, and with staggered front and rears tires keep the car level so it doesn't look like its sagging. ideally springs, struts, all that is uprated as well but the contact patch dancing around and causing issues like above isn't something terminally wrong with the car/platform.
None of the "snap" has to do with weight bais, although the tendencies towards oversteer on entry (but can be controllable) ring true to the platform, it and stuff like the S2K is a artifact of ride and handling compromises where having greater leverage over the rear (both in spring, but more importantly control arm angles) and soft frontend allow good on paper performance (smooth ride, high G cornering capability) but come at cost of stability, in case of 91-92 SW20s huge stability issues if not addressed or worse yet left alone and setup simply stiffer. You see this less these days because strut tuning advanced enough for production cars engineers don't feel as forced to make such compromises, not to say they don't to some degree, thats their job.
Snap oversteer is definitely a real driving characteristic of mid engine cars (Particularly of the MR2), however I think a skilled enough driver shouldn't have any more trouble correcting it than with normal oversteer in a FR car, provided they have some experience driving a MR chassis.
ОтветитьWell that car clearly needs more wing on the back
ОтветитьSo the MR2 is basically the real life equivalent of Gran Turismo 4's physics (when you try to drift).
ОтветитьBad driving he is throwing it into the corners. 🥴
ОтветитьSame car ended up in a wall.
Ответитьthis is not snap oversteer............................................................................................................
Ответитьat least he prevented the snap oversteer pretty much completely, great save on his part
ОтветитьNot really snap oversteer you can see him losing traction in the braking zone. Just a mistake.
ОтветитьThey redid the suspension geometry and steering for the 93+ model years which helped a lot in preventing this problem, I wonder if this car has those updates or not.
ОтветитьGreat save!💪
ОтветитьWhat a beautiful example of an MR2. Also awesome save by that splendid driver.
ОтветитьHe saved it by keeping the power on. It's if you lift your foot of the throttle. It's coming round. Lol
ОтветитьLol that is not snap oversteer... I drive an MR2 and snap oversteer is not that.
ОтветитьIs that MR2 in representitive of how a road going MR2 handles? It has widened track, wings and splitters, and most likely modified suspension, wheel alignment and engine.
ОтветитьFor those who don't know, the snap oversteer is actually from overcorrecting the slide, whereas the initial slide is from liftoff oversteer or throttle oversteer
ОтветитьThis car has worst handling even in fh 5
ОтветитьThe 90-91 cars had funky suspension geometry which caused the rears to toe-out under compression (when cornering). This was fixed for MY1992 cars.
Race cars don’t run OEM suspension so those cars may or may not have suffered from the same issue.
That's just normal oversteer. If it snapped the other way, after the recovery, it would be snap oversteer.
Ответитьsnap over-steer is simply not knowing how to drive a rear biased car. you have to be quick than the car. in other cars, you can let the wheel go and let it countersteer itself, and it will straighten out on it's own. with rear biased cars, you must let the car countersteer itself, then straighten the wheel yourself as fast as possible to have both the car and wheel straight at the same time. porsche do the same thing, but its easier to correct, that doesnt mean its impossible on the mr2 though. simply a skill issue.
ОтветитьThe mr2 is a car you need a lot of practice in
ОтветитьWhat can you do to prevent this ?
ОтветитьIs crashing real or is it bad driving
ОтветитьI drive MR2s in racing sims but up till now I'm very confused why I understeer more than oversteer
ОтветитьYes it is but the latet mark2 models fixed it
ОтветитьHe could have went with it but these guys likely aren't drift trained, very good correction though
ОтветитьLooks evil
ОтветитьEngineering failure by toyota.
ОтветитьMy man just had drift king come on his playlist in the car 😂
Ответитьno warning when that car let go.
ОтветитьSnap over-steer is inherent of that layout and especially the MR2. Was hoping for a power through drift to be honest - but that kick out would have caught anyone off guard.
ОтветитьEven with this known flaw, the MR2 is one of my favorite old school sports cars and I will own one soon.
ОтветитьWhy is the car set up with such an insane ride height?
ОтветитьI mean, they attached a huge wing to it, over course oversteer will be reduced
ОтветитьCool graphics. What game is that?
ОтветитьHe's totally sending it and the car is too stiff
ОтветитьThe MR2 is a POS lol. A dodge neon handles better.
ОтветитьIt's a problem on all rear mounted engine cars..but on the mr2 of that model I've seen a few rip the front stabilizer bar mounts straight out of the body
Ответить
