Thanks for talking about this! And just so you know her name is pronounced Muh-kell Jan-sea :)
ОтветитьI'd hope my baby (currently pregnant via IVF) wouldn't think about being concieved by IVF at all. I mean why isn't it weird how I was concieved by sex? I don't wanna think much about my parents having sex plus 99,99999% of tiime intrcourse isn't about making babies. If anything my kid should know how very intentional we were about her being born <3
I can understand how it's a curiosity that children born years appart were concieved at the same time, given how youngsters care about who is the older and who is the younger sibling.
I myself was an IVf baby (1990), and I am 33 yrs old now. I was a fresh tranafer and also a fert twin(she passed at 2 weeks). We weere permature and born at 23 weeks gestasiin(i believe). I am going through IVf myself now. We have been on our infertility journey now for 5 years now.
ОтветитьIVF baby here! Born in 1998 with a fraternal twin. There are not any left over embryos from my parents egg retrieval but I would also be tempted to bring potential siblings into the world if given the chance!
ОтветитьIf she birthed the baby whould it be her sibling and their mother?
ОтветитьWhat do your patients usually do with their left over embryos?
Ответитьand the fact that her and her fiance had dna tests done and they are COUSINS and going to have kids is .... well she is strange., imo.
ОтветитьHI, thank you for this video and your kind tone throughout it all! It was fascinating to watch your perspective, especially as a professional. You seem like an incredibly caring doctor, and your patients are lucky to have you. TY for bringing IVF babies like me into this world! (PS, I got a lot of slack on tiktok for saying "random scientist guy" but I just know my parent's embryologist was a male! They have told me stories of their experiences, hahahah! So if any tiktok trolls come for me, pls relay the message) ;-)
ОтветитьPerhaps it was karma, My husband and I joked that our nephew 4yo (IVF) might actually be the oldest sibling older than his twin brother and sister 6yo (IVF). I had an egg extraction in Dec 22 eggs and only 1 embryo, so our IVF Dr said we could try transfer or do more extractions - numbers game. I read up a lot of fertility books, made further overhauls to my lifestyle (swapped glass for plastic, eat more veg and fruit, sleep early, exercised at least 90mins a week, meditated etc) and went for TCM, in the month prior to my planned egg extraction (May) I managed to get pregnant naturally! It’s now pretty trippy that my naturally conceived baby was conceived later and chronologically younger than her IVF embryo sibling. I look forward to the day we can joke openly about the younger older sibling and the older younger sibling 😂
ОтветитьLoooove this video Lora.
ОтветитьI just made an appointment with fertility doctor and most likely will be recommended IVF. Perfect timing for this video.!!
ОтветитьI think the twin thing was just a joke between her and her sister, she didn’t mean it literally
ОтветитьCan you still get pregnant if you don’t have a lot of “egg white” cervical mucus at ovulation? I get positive ovulation tests at home but my cervical mucus is noticeable different compared to the rest of the month.
ОтветитьThank you so much for creating this type of contents for women who are inquiring about fertility. I am 38 and have been ttc for 2 1/2 years. No pcos, no endometriosis, regular 28 day periods and tracking ovulations over the years show Lh surge. My ob dr completed a lot of fertility testing and at my age, I guess I have low amh lvl and low fsh. All others were normal. My husband is seeing a urologist and has been started on mediations to help such as Clomid and anastrozole. I went to see a reproductive endocrinologist last week on the day I was supposed to start my period. It worked great as I was given lab tests to come back and get and US TO CHECK for eggs on US day 2-4 and then to come back for Hysterosalpingography day 6-14. My time of month did not start and since all the focus on testing and labs and just the lack of conceiving each month has caused my time of month to now skip for the second time this year. It’s very discouraging and pregnancy tests are negative. Tips or encouragement are appreciated. I am on a sloooo of supplements. Vitamins, coq10, vit d, fertility supplement that was suggested from repro Endo which I have been taking for a week now. ❤
ОтветитьI watch Michel (Mic-Kel) but never seen this ❤
Sorry I thought i needs to fix the pronunciation xx
Maybe since I'm from the ag world, embryos aren't that big of a deal. We use embryos, in the cattle. If you have a great cow and you want several offsprings from that cow, you use a donor cow and transplant them into those cows, they do that in the horse world too.
ОтветитьIt's pronounced mi-kel short i..not michelle
ОтветитьInteresting! In Denmark The law says only keep the eggs for 5 years.
ОтветитьMik-el Jan-see
ОтветитьWould have been really nice if you had pronounced her name correctly….
Ответитьit's not Michelle, it's Michel
ОтветитьI think the thought or desire she is feeling is more of a desire to “rescue” a sibling who is still frozen because it could have been her perpetually frozen.
ОтветитьI get what Michel said about 'technical twins'. They were created same time and if both embrio's were implanted they would be twins
ОтветитьIf I can’t conceive on my own, I’d appreciate a 30 year old embryo 💕
ОтветитьVery interesting ler
arned alot. Her mom could have more kids!!😅 Whoaaaa that last part whoa!
Are pro lifers are against you destroying those embryos or even doing this. Probably the whole thing sounds like witchcraft to them.
ОтветитьIf you are going to comment on her video, you may want to pronounce her name right.
ОтветитьWe are all randomly chosen in our birth order. On any given cycle an egg is dropped and it’s fertilized. This is not unique to IVF. Society now has a huge ethical and moral dilemma with frozen embryos that are viable human beings left suspended.
ОтветитьIt's crazy to think someone can be a birth mother and a biological sister at the same time due to IVF.
ОтветитьVery informative video. What about donor babies? Wonder how a child feels knowing my mother carried me and gave birth to me however it is not from her. She was like a surrogate?
ОтветитьFYI: Her name is pronounced "Mick-elle Jan-see"
ОтветитьI’m an IVF parent. My daughter is turning 32. We had 9 good embryos and it was BEFORE octomom. So freezing tech was in its infancy and not very good at the time. When they asked us how many to transfer we said all but they would only put in 8(!). We did 8 , and got pregnant with 2, but one turned out to be a blighted ovum so only one survived.
The worst part of that is a nurse who told me that when there are twins they “fight for dominance” and one “wins”. That was a HORRIBLE thing to say (and I don’t think it was true)! For a while I was angry with my embryo who survived. I had to really work to let go of that feeling while I was pregnant.
I have a wonderful, healthy child who is now a physician! We lived in Hawaii which mandated IVF coverage by the employer’s mainland health insurance company tried to wiggle out of the coverage. They told me “this is not a matter of life and death” but YES it was. It was the life of my child. And I imagined my future child as a doctor saving other lives, which may even happen as she is now a doctor.
I wish i would have frozen some of my embryos. I was focused on work and college an my career. I had debt and then in my career took off. I was financially better off and wanted a family but I was almost 40. I never had a child and while I am happy and content with my life. This video just made me curious
ОтветитьBirthing your sibling would be wild!!
Ответить"the beauty of freezing embryos..." 😢 IVF is so wrong
ОтветитьThis in my opinion is just not right. Adopt a child to love.
ОтветитьI never knew that Michel and her sister were IVF ‘twins’, that’s cool. Can her parents sell the embryos left over? I love the thought of seeing a ‘left over’ twin being born. ❤
Ответитьthis is disturbing on several levels. the embryos frozen in limbo are human beings-it's incredibly unethical. they deserve to be parented not frozen in a lab this is heartbreaking. people are being created to be judged for viability and then discarded or frozen or experimented on.
ОтветитьI've never seen that video of hers! Wow I can't even imagine having to choose what to do with frozen embryos. I had thought about doing egg donation but I got pregnant really close to the age deadline and it was in the middle of covid too so I never went through with it
Ответить
