hpc is rly bad but if u take the plates out if it and put it into a t4 armor its much better because you get the extra t2 coverage along with the t5 plates from the hpc!

Had a few spikes in OCE servers earlier in the wipe... not so much the last 2-3 days...
on the 29th a raid code for a spike was PNFGYW on Streets.. not sure what kinda info they can see, but was right before 'Pink' dies if that helps pinpoint anything... Had someone running around a corner and I lag and restart my game.. I come back to being dead XD

I got 1 tapped to the "chest" wearing the strandhog by a scav using 7.62x39 HP, I feel your pain Pest. What's the point in wearing armor if flesh bullets can just 1 shot you to the armor anyway.

was wearing a zhuk-6a and tagilla helmet on streets, i got one tapped by a .366 eko to the throat.. Actually wild since the tagille helmet clips through the zhuk armours neck protection, making it look like it also protects the neck.. guess not..

Had this happen to me on woods the other day. Going for scav kills and get 2 tapped in the thorax with C4 armor....

I found one of those and its trash... some one with 7.62x39 FMJ killed me with 3 bollets on the chest... that lvl5 is trash

For anyone looking for an armor with maximum mobility while also retaining high coverage, try the Thor CRV. It's got full class 3 soft armor on every area besides the neck, groin and sleeves, while weighing next to nothing and having no speed penalty on its own. Equipped with two Monoclete UHMWPE plates (from an MMAC) you get a full coverage of your thorax (sides, upper/lower back, chest) with class 3, otherwise exclusive to GEN4 and Fort armors, with additional class 4 plates, and only 2% movement speed penalty.

Really glad armor doesn’t mean much in Tarkov anymore. It’s very good and I’m glad folks are losing

rn I highly suggest kirasa with lv 4 plates. the russian black armor and also maybe the osprey. Slick, hpc and hex are the worst currently

Pest you need to check whats inside the armours now too, most people are scamming on the flea by selling empty carriers and people are buying cheap plates to fill them up cuz the good ones are vendor and in raid only

Yeah the new plate system is stupid, for this exact reason. Completely out of your control and you get tapped in an area where the plate doesn't cover, it adds an element of RNG to if your armor even works or not. It's a really crappy and unenjoyable way to die especially after you paid several hundred thousand rubels for the armor and plates or just lost the only high level armor you had etc and potentially your whole kit. Not a good a change, it'd be like if they added battlefield bloom spread recoil next, it just adds no enjoyable aspect to the game. And like in Gigabeefs video about the new armor where a level 4 plate takes like 24 9mm bullets to even DAMAGE the PMC's thorax it's insane that 23 bullets didn't even do a single point of flesh or blunt damage at all, hard negatives on both sides of the armor doing nothing and getting 1 or 2 tapped in a armor gap and also making anything other than AP rifle rounds completely useless for body shots.

First guy he killed was legit the worst player in the world. Point blank missed him with an entire mag. I would have put 100$ on that guy being a scav ai. Tf was he shooting at !

I found that same class five found in raid on a dead scav; armor wasnt even damaged.

People in this comment section arguing about the armor system rework should chill.

This is it's first iteration, they'll likely buff/nerf what is necessary, the system itself can easily end up being a very healthy addition to the game, allowing for certain ammo types like 12 gauge or 9x18 to not be permanent leg meta fodder

With that said, let's stop pretending this change "helps the little guy who doesn't have 10 hours a day to play tarkov", it affects all armor the same and the biggest detractor atm is shotguns which didn't work against any armor, not specifically lvl 5-6

i only ever wear armour right at the start of a wipe, anything after week 2 is pointless because you just get 1 shot face tapped 90% of the time anyway, why waste money on armour 😂

Their next move should be making armor that covers large area pose a much greater maneuver penalty. Like it increases the effect of your movement inertia. I.e takes longer to turn around or accelerate in a sprint etc. While the tactical bikini style plate carriers should be a lot less restrictive to your movement

I get that the scav killed you without having to get thru the high tier armor and that makes balancing sus. But to be fair, you heard him scoot his feet multiple times, then decided to push across an open court yard. Sorta reminds me of that common phrase. "Just cuz your wearing armor doesn't mean you should let someone shoot at you" You let him take his shot/ roll those dice and you got unlucky.

armor changes are good because before you could rely on certain armors to protect you fully no matter your position or stance. however now the armor plays a lot more realistic in that it only protects specific bits meaning you can play poorly or have bad luck and a round can slip between the plates.

I'm torn on the armour changes. On one hand it's interesting; changes things up; validates a lot more ammunition than just high penetration armour.
On the other hand if your opponent (whether scav or player) shoots and gets 'lucky' to shoot 'between' the plates or under your arms, stuff that you should survive kills you.

I think a good compromise would be to improve the area of coverage but retain the plates system.

I came back to Tarkov for these new recoil and armor system, if they change back to old ones, I will leave this game instantly.

All the Timmy's gonna be saying how great it is because they can now kill people without having to direct their aim too much.
