Im not sure how many more Touareg videos I will do. LOL lot depends on the reaction from this one. The last T-reg video flopped HARD HAAHHA
ОтветитьThe 3.0L TDI is the best for the Touareg.
Ответитьput the drivetrain in a mk4 golf!
ОтветитьI have a 2004 v8 touareg an yes they do cost alot to fix
ОтветитьI have a 2004 VW touareg first gen V8 daily driver. Had it forever. Still going strong at 126k miles. Check engine light has been on for about 7 years now. (P420 cat lean bank 1/2, might try the ole guzzle seafoam down the o2 sensor hole ) I'll never buy a German car again. 😂
ОтветитьI hope you do an episode on doing the blend doors in the HVAC system. I have the 2 zone and I hear getting to them is a nightmare. Also it may be possible to clean or rebuild them for $10 vs buying new ones for $250 each. Also adding the tom module and getting it coded RIGHT. Lastly I did the TPMS module replacement and coded it and got it to work again. Have fun.
ОтветитьI have a 2004 Touareg 3.2 V6 , I always have a knocking noise at low speeds, I can't tell if it's coming from the front or rear ... Plus it needs more rpm to get it moving at low speeds, it usually drives well at higher speeds..
ОтветитьSaw one for $975 and auction fees at IAA; thinking about grabbing it
Ответитьcrazy times. many more people say that old cars are worth keep going than some years ago.
Ответитьwhat should at look for maintenance wise on a 2014 touareg tdi? are they reasonably reliable?
Ответитьcool ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, your nuts :-)
ОтветитьSuspension videos with probably make some good content. Plus after addressing that you could fix some of the badly rust areas. I wouldn't worry about trying to make it perfect just good enough too last a few years, used it as a cheap daily or winter beater.
ОтветитьITS NOT RUST LOL
ОтветитьTurbo and supercharge it
ОтветитьFor led trailer lights have you tried a resister for each of the lights to create enough resistance for the sensor to see a load. Then for the rust it would be cool to see it laser blasted or dry ice blasted.
ОтветитьYES 🤩
ОтветитьGot 2 Touaregs: a 07 3.6 and a 08 4.2 FSI. We tow with both (TT) and my daily is the 3.6…We run BFG KO2s on both (longer wear). They do require $$ now and then but actually seem better than other vehicles we have owned. We LOVE them. Had the 3.6 now for over 14 years…
On adapters for towing we purchased one from UHaul that was wired wrong…might test to see if it is working right (the adapter)?
I’ve definitely thought about buying one to thrash on it in the black hills. 😂
ОтветитьPull the engine, & shoehorn it into a 9N polo!!! hehehehe
ОтветитьUse a product called Fluid Film and it will halt or slow down the rust so you can enjoy the SUV for a longer time than using any other product
ОтветитьI bought a cheap 2001 vw beetle glx 1.8 turbo..After many parts..And about $5000 more dollars..It runs great..No such thing as cheap anymore
ОтветитьNo wonder they are cheap
ОтветитьI bought one with the air suspension and rear locking diff a few years ago with 80K one owner and about 20 pounds of maintenance records for $5K in San Jose, CA. No issues since and I've made it into an off roader with Eurowise suspension upgrades and winch mount, and added an APEX 12K synthetic winch. I also added larger tires, have a full size spare that ratchets to the roof, and other modifications. I did the timing job myself and added a bunch of improvements. Zero issues, except for a mystery warning light for a bulb that is probably either, a.) going out or b.) housing has corrosion or something. It's been awesome. I am adding a second fullsize battery to where the original donut spare is soon but this is an awesome and comfortable rig for sleeping in on climbing trips and it gets me everywhere! I've put about 5K into this car when you look at the tires, the timing, all the parts I decided to replace or upgrade it with, etc, but for $10K and a car that has done 50K more miles with zero issues, I don't think you can find a more dependable, reliable, or capable vehicle. Just be sure you know what you're getting into and have no issues working on a VW/Audi/Porsche yourself! I also own a B7 Audi S4 manual that I've tuned and tuned. I love the challenge but these are complex machines that you can master and reap the rewards! Just pay attention, and be attentive, and do your homework!
ОтветитьF*ck no. It's an incredible money pit.
ОтветитьGas consumption is the main drawback for this car. This is not for the faint of heart. Aside from that nice cars.
ОтветитьI owned a 2004 V8, full spec (dynaudio!) from 2005-2011 and loved it. Not really many problems. Just new coils after 3 years (paid by VW), one air spring valve in 2010, at 200tkm, new horns and front door locks and the button stick and peel problem (but not even close to your car). Sold it with 210tkm and regretted it for years. Though it was eating breaks and drinking gas like hell.
Since 4 years I have a 2007 V8, low spec, with new FSI engine, 200tkm and will keep it, despite it needed more repairs than the old one. The biggest problem was that one of the 4 cats deteriorated inside until it finally melted completely. Before melting down, the deterioration caused of course poor performance, but 3 garages, including an official VW garage didn't find this error for 3 month until this cat was completely blocked. I was pointing them to this error cause but they all told me, that the cats are fine.....
I'm very curious for your Touareg videos!!!
Build it!!!
ОтветитьGerman cars are so much better built than American cars ,no one with a brain is buying a American car where I live except Tesla
ОтветитьMay I ask you how much should a normal total price be for a brand new alternator/belt + Labor for a 2006 Touareg with a V8 engine? Thank you for any help !!
ОтветитьThe odds are against you with a VW such as this one, Charles. The regular guy goes broke after his initial $3000 or $4000.... and learns the hard way.
ОтветитьDude, I just got an 05 Touareg V6 for $2200 I fixed some stuff and working like a champ!
Ответить..theres a reason u get this porsches/vws cheap like hell- here in europe- theyre rather stupid expensive to repair or not to repair....😆(mostly electronic shit or transmissions)
ОтветитьA V10 TDI is one of my dream cars.
That isn't that bad... considering I'm a BMW guy with 4 BMW's....haha.
What should you do with it?
Drop it down, dirt nasty low...
Hear me out now... DRIFT TAURAG! XD
With my only very basic understanding of electronics, my current assumption on the tow bulb issue is that the LED trailer lights are less resistive than the old incandescents.
If you figure out how resistive the invandescents are, I wonder if you could simply add a resistor inline, and it'd get the warning light to go away? I wonder if that's what that weird adapter was trying to do.
Hey I got a question just watched a video about how to connect the wires from the fuse box to the radiator fan. Came across your channel like what I saw (even though it wasn't what I was looking for) so I wanted to ask what wire would the radiator fan connect to the fuse box. There's a wire coming from the fan but isn't connected to anything and can't find what it could go to. Forgot to say my fan isn't turning on at all on my 2016 Jeep compass sport. My ac works great and my jeep starts overheating really bad when I'm stopped at a stop sign or stop light.
ОтветитьYou should coyote swap a Porsche 911 would be interesting to see
Ответитьhey my friend how are you? as a VW master tech what scan tool works good on VW and AUDI's cars please
ОтветитьWe got a 2010 VR6 and love it, looks slick with aggressive meats. We have had great luck with Goodyear Duratracs on several different rigs and they certainly don’t disappoint on the Touareg. Things a beast in the snow and sand:) hoping to get a few more years out of it
ОтветитьBro. Looking to buy a short shift from dap but I don't see where there's a Mk4 5 spreed does the mk5 fit properly the mk4
Ответитьi think you paid too much. i paid $4k for my 2008 3.6 touareg. drove to chattanooga for it. it did have 168k, but it ran great with no warning lights whatsoever. this was in 2020, and it turned 240k miles yesterday
ОтветитьOnly a tdi...
Ответитьhanging out for this, I'm still loving my 04 V10 TDI but it needs some TLC (all of the above), main drama is the bi-zenon headlights, I've rewired them but RHS doesn't work on and the LHS park light won't go off.
ОтветитьThis POS should have been junked.
ОтветитьYo I have a w8 Passat 2003. Could you drop some videos on this make and model? Thank you for your videos, they are very helpful 🙏🏽
ОтветитьI have a 2005 how much will you pay me
ОтветитьI tow with a 2004 V10 TDI. I love it. I just use a plug adapter for trailer LEDs. Sometimes I get a dash warning light, other times I dont. But it works.
ОтветитьGreat review. Glad you know VW so well and can keep this one out of scrapper for a few years. That looks only surface rust, if you go off road you will scrape undercar anyway. As you state, parts for luxury German cars stay luxury prices...to keep that smug appeal. At some point a future owner refuses to pay luxury parts, repairs, maintainence. These things are not collectable so they simply disappear from road as throw away. This has been great business model for Germany, who is the wealthest EU state.
