Suppose it is possible a trench digging & back-filling operator may never have seen the sword. Prefer to believe the 'antaquarian' with spiritual tendency, got emotionally caught up in the 'time-travel' awareness experience (every viewer reading this recognizes & are addicted to it) . . . and he salted the site with some expence, perhaps not to deceive but to appease the friendly old ghosts that quite obviously haunted him. Been there and still am. Collectors all have one thing in common . . . They collect. Some display at the risk of theft . . . Others use different kinds of storage methods ensuring the 'spirit' never dies away when you know 'time travel' is possible as mementos prove. They evoke a spirit without fail.
The site then attracted kindred spirits . . . And stll do.
Barb wire under the iron age sword? Amateur move.
ОтветитьCorrect, truth telling, when will the non Aboriginal people get thanks for bringing them forward thousands a years for all the great outcomes from it, so over the whining and money grabbing, such a shame they are friends with people who have treaty’s and can’t see the forest for the trees.
Ответить44 sek into the program.
-"This may look like an old cow shit."
O i have some coins guess i will just chuck them in this old spring!….really?no use for money?maybe an offering to a local god? What era the Roman coins?
ОтветитьGreat detective work!
ОтветитьSome people have lots of money to buy artifacts, but no brains at all. A very disappointing site.
ОтветитьHow are coins useless.
ОтветитьWhy doesn't anyone suggest the sword had been dug up in the soil when the work was done, then shoveled back when it was evened out. I think it would be rare that construction guys would be on the lookout for artifacts or take notice of a lumpy muddy thing that looks like a stick.
ОтветитьAt the end where they said Bill was going to donate the sword; I kind of picked up a bit of that beautiful British humor. Love this episode.
ОтветитьWish they could do this to the Ancient Aliens show.
ОтветитьIt was all a fraud - but it was exposed.
ОтветитьOn camera, at least, the Time Team crew showed remarkably restrained comments when the archaeological story began to unravel.
ОтветитьI love Tony as in his role for this series, but I will always hear Baldwick in Black Adder.
ОтветитьTime team. Due to budget and time constraints, the absolute worst archeological techniques.
ОтветитьThe amount of effort and money to do that is nuts
ОтветитьThrowing swords into a lake.
Could that not be from a disarmament situation?
Love your videos. You inspired me. Now I'm looking at Google Earth to see what I can find and go check out. Thanks !
ОтветитьI feel sorry for the Son-in-Law. If he was in on it he obviously wouldn't have agreed to be on camera. I think his Father-in-Law has some questions to answer.
ОтветитьThis is such a good ep
ОтветитьThe amount of commercials are just mindblowing, after 9min of the video I've had 3 commercial breaks in total of 14 minutes. That's 5 more minutes than I've watched the show!!
ОтветитьThe sword may have been in what the workers backfilled the holes with .
ОтветитьI've watched this episode so many times, it's all so fascinating, but I'm still curious about that "natural spring" - was it a human creation with plumbing? Help with answers/information, please?
Ответитьridiculous
this comedy
Thank you.
ОтветитьThat got awkward.
ОтветитьOne of the many reasons I like and miss Tony, how in the opening when the dog comes up to him, he without hesitation gives him a pat.
ОтветитьProper episode!
Sometimes I do wonder though, some interpretations are not conclusive.
For example: you find a floor with a coin from, 1333 on top. Conclusion: floor is older than 1333.
However, someone could've dug some dirt (with coin) in 1413 and deposited it on the old floor of the derelict house that then gets flattened to make room for a garden. The conclusion that the coin is thus newer than the floor isnt set in stone.
We have a lot of things like that in the US- we call them mudpuddles......
ОтветитьWho on earth would have comprised a composite jumble such as that? And why. With such valuable artifacts.A first class mystery it is.
ОтветитьThis is, perhaps the most compelling episode of Time Team I've ever witnessed. It delivers a painfully important message. Thanks for sharing it.
ОтветитьThat guy and his father know that they placed it there.
ОтветитьWhy do they only ever have 3 days for results?
ОтветитьI love how they all act.. and they know its a hoax
ОтветитьIt could have been a treasure or collection and got there by flooding?
ОтветитьWhy did they not check flooding between 1880s to now?
ОтветитьThe reason they hide, or falsely ignore this is because it would create pandemonium throughout the world!
ОтветитьHave not even watch this yet, but it is clear this is a manufactured site. No way all this is real.
ОтветитьSo Thomas Price planted most of this , or the landowner????? Mysterious?????
ОтветитьOne of the carved heads looks like an Easter Island Moai. Past Time Team showed how prolific the throwing of modelled Icons, in to the waters for blessings when embarking on or along the way on pilgrimages. Makes sense.⛏🗿 This site might be on a trail of pilgrimage. OR. An early 1900 Folly. For visitors to the area to visit and fossick. That’s the second manufactured site I’ve watched. Just as important as other sites. The understanding needs work and investigation for context. Maybe the military were told to put everything back where they got it. Returned to sod after a death.
Ответитьomg!?! 13th x in two days are you trying to tell me something ok but wait u turn pkz im in the middle if librevox book 1½ hrs gnosis can wait for ignorance to fade and show the path of observations i❤timeteam root root /fs
Ответитьhey T? this show is tops and i really enjoy it but again and its like the 10th time, i had a queue of videos selected and my queue was dropped and interruoted with your show. it makes me think its an algorithmic error however logged it looks like a purpose over exposure motive unknown. and i just thot you all should know and again thank you kindly for this top rated fine content.
ОтветитьAmazing I find this incredible how these guys work. What a wonderful job doesn't seem to hard it would only take years. I wish I had them would love to learn this .
Ответитьbeautiful countryside- reminds me of eastern Tennessee
ОтветитьThis is a great episode, because it highlights the rigorous research methodologies organic to modern archeaology.
ОтветитьLooks Viking to me.
ОтветитьConsidering tha Dude who found & is responsible 4 investing tha last 20 yr of his life researching wat he believe 2b Noah ark, has already confirmed time & again that he hasn't actually ben able to dig at tha sight in question. But has jus been able to take above ground sonar scanning or watever its called, after sampling tha natural geological composition of tha rocks on tha Mt. & around that sight to be able to confirm that it happens to be a different geological composition as tha Mt. Itself, which we literally find on practically every location high & low in tha world thanks to tha countless materials deposits that were shifted from other locations by massive ice sheets worldwide. 🤷♀️ But wud certainly be nice if they wud actually dig on this sight & it prove to actually be what they claim since everything else we've been able to uncover has throughly validated tha events recorded by tha sumerrian, rather than tha incomplete book of Bible, or collection of books that MAN has manipulatively altered &/or omitted to maliciously mislead & deceive tha most naively gullible & ignorant amongst us!! 🤷♀️
