Bozos are everywhere. Tech industry is in the ruins. No surprise here.

Great individual contributior is work for his team, not for the company. He loves his team and much much more than the company. He will accept to promote for the team, but not for the company.

What was Steve Jobs great "individual contribution"? He wasn't technical, he wasn't a great operator, he wasn't good at execution.

He was entirely an "ideas guy". Someone with a vision - a pure manager!

What to do with 99.99% of people and managers who suck or are good or mediocre at best. Steve Jobs, smart as he was, didn't have an answer or solution for this.

So true. I am glad that I became an engineer before rising up the ladder to the CTO position. And I can still code, and I bet my ass I can still beat my engineering team in a hackathon!

One other things I learned was ... in 98% of cases (because there are always exceptions), don't hire an obese person as a manager - especially a woman. Too many issues.
