Either you can call it "battle attitude" or "disrespect", however they both posted this battle on their Instagrams and they seemed to talk well to each other haha so they're cool

Obviously everyone should have the right to feel safe at GBB, but I feel like River's response was a little too much. Ice shouldn't have kept touching River, but it really wasn't that deep. A similar thing happened with Colaps, but his was much more serious because Zekka fully grabbed his face. And yet Colaps handled it very maturely, whereas River made a bigger deal out of it than it needed to be. That's just my opinion though

Definitely a breach of battle etiquette and Abo Ice apologized after.

Honestly what I don't like is him running away with the mic everytime it just takes away the rebattle impact that is not fairplay.And touching is forbidden so there shouldn't even be a discussion if you watch the Azel Napom battle it just felt so bad the were both super tense we are here for the beatbox nothing else.

Just wanna bring to attention the fact River occupied the middle of the stage for nearly the whole battle. It's one thing to do that when engaging your opponent, it's another to restrict your opponent's movement and potentially alter his communication with the crowd.

I'm a supporter of the no touching rule and believe Ice should've been DQ'd the same way I felt Zekka should've been in GBB21 and D-Low in GBB19. The key difference here is that unlike B-Art and Colaps, River isn't blameless here.

After the first contact and River making it clear he wasn't okay with it, any further contact should have resulted in a penalty. Any time a participant makes it clear further contact is unwelcome that should be the end of any further contact between participants, regardless of their relationship outside the battle. That's just my two cents though.

River got in front of him round one and walked towards him. Ice just brought the energy higher and River played victim because he got tapped on the shoulder.

*Edit* this my opinion on it, I can easily see the other side as well. I think it brought good battle energy that’s been missing for years… but again I can see how some think it went too far and am not saying in any way he was wrong…

As far as I can tell from my research, most beatbox communities worldwide have some rules or regulations about no physical contact during battle. Not only is it distracting, but it is disrespectful. After the first time that River' told him not to touch him, he should have not done it again, out of respect. If I'm not mistaken, GBB almost disqualified Zekka in his battle against Colaps in 2021. Love the reactions and the BBX community!! 😀😀😀

Ofcourse Abo Ice will learn his mistake. Remember this is his first ever battle on the GBB stage. River is definitely no stranger for it. Next time Abo Ice will be more proffesional because he will learn for these mistakes of him on the stage. Definitely Abo Ice is a beast. Also, Him & River is good, Ice apologized for it.

hey cliff, love your stuff and ive been watching your beatbox reactions for years. I completely agree with starting a second channel dedicated to beatboxing, i think its the move so that other reactions wont outshadow the beatbox. And im sure many people including me will support the new channel and id love to see more beatbox reactions! A battle with battle energy, distracting opponent is a tactic that would be unacceptable in a showcase or set but its a battle so fight it out. Regarding the touching River started up in Abo face and Abo Ice didn't back down, he touched his arm few times but not like grabbing it or touching someone head or privates.

I'll list the disrespectful and poor battle etiquette of Abo Ice:

- He walked on stage and didn't even give eye contact to RIVER', showing his arrogance.
- When RIVER' gave a handshake and went in for the hug, Abo Ice remained still on the spot and ignored RIVER's sportsmanship.
- Then RIVER' was like "okay" and nodded his head after acknowledging the disrespect and the coin toss happened.
- RIVER lost the coin toss and a fan in the crowd said "LETS GO RIVER'!" to elevate the atmosphere and prepare for the lit battle.
- Abo Ice, however, "shhhhh'd" the fan and walked away - maybe he didn't understand what the fan said and thought it was offensive or something.

Then all the touching stuff happened. After RIVER' clearly showed that he was uncomfortable with Abo Ice touching him the first time, Ice kept on doing it, which was the mistake. Before all the Abo Ice fanboys come for me, even Ice agreed that it was wrong and apologised at the end of his second round. RIVER' then replied "what?" and patted him friendly on the chest, implying that it was all good. They resolved any issues they had on that spot.

i read the title and immediately thought "yep cliff is in for it now" lul i love river! ice did bring it, but like you the touching put me off.. I love beatboxing and the artists, i grew up with my older brother and his friends beatboxing around me and i now follow all the artists my brother did when he was alive. love the idea of a beatbox only channel even though i'm here for ALL of your content <3 <3 <3

I honestly dont mind Ice's attitude. I get its not a boxing fight, its a beatbox battle and physical contact shouldn't be a thing but I find stuff like Ice's attitude brings others out of their comfort zone and really brings emotion/ambition into these battles. It'd be so dull if every single battle was just 2 dudes singing songs and dancing along

the lyrics to the first drop didn't hit for me imo; but Abo Ice has some dangerous skills, can't take that away from him.

it would help alot if there was some kind of hand bump indicating if your'e down for actually battling.
