I agree there is a big difference...I was underwhelmed by the Parfum (gold). It wears different for me..The EDP (black) projects way more and last longer - which is weird because the Parfum (gold)should be more potent. If Tom is asking me for more money I'm not looking for subtle.

Love this scent on my better half. Very sexy and earthy(funky). She's hot to begin with but when she rocks this the room blows up when she walks in. Plum & Rum..... where do I sign up ? Funk is your friend. Sillage for the win !

Hey lady great review, I'll stick with my OF since this one isn't beast mode. Buying perfume that I know isn't long lasting is a no go for me.

This is the best parfume I have ever smelled. Smells like an Armenian church. The price is too high though :(

I had to watch this a second time. I received a sample of Tom Ford Black Orchid Parfum in the mail this morning. Omg this is soooo goood. And I was trying to figure out which one was I going to buy. And if it was necessary to have both. I agree. I haven't smelled anything that in 2020 that I would be in love with. Until I smelled this. This Is so good I'm confused😂🥰

Girl, it is the best. Hands down. My BFF is a guy and he even agrees that the Black Orchid Perfume (gold edition) smells great on me. He says it smells smooth, lol. We went to the department store and tried every TF we saw, the poor sales girl was so patient and she knew her stuff. It's something to wear when you go out or when you want to feel like a rich sultry bi**h. The last notes smelled like a true orchid scent on me. I got it on sale for 15% off at Dillard's. Your explanation/review of the scent was 100% accurate. Now I know who to go to when I am interested in a new scent. It does have a slightly mature scent so you have to wear it with confidence. It is perfect for Fall/Winter.

Great comparison... I didn't know if my nose had matured, but a little while back i couldn't handle black or velvet orchid. (I still can't do velvet though i want to love its rum and honey) surprisingly, i now own the new black orchid. so they did make it so that it dies down and not stay a hype man all night like the original... ok! i'll have to spray a little heavier when going out because i did notice that the new one isn't as scary and loud as the old one.

Have you had the chance to smell anything from the house of Fragrance Du Bois? Id love to know your thoughts on Oud Jaune, Oud Orange, Oud Rose, Santal Complet, New York 5th Ave, New York Intense, Milano and Petals De Cashmere. I want to know your thoughts on them and see if they are worth the asking price. Maybe a video dedicated to the house discussing wich ones are worth it? The scent itself needs to be 8/10, the longevity needs to be at least 8/10, the projection needs to be atleast 7/10, and the versatility needs to be atleast 5/10 to justify the price tag.
