It still isn’t working for me it’s saying my media is offline randomly after trying to render and it won’t let me go to the file to use the clip I downloaded the video to avoid issues with my usb and now it’s just saying I can’t download it again and says media offline on my file as well

Thanks this helped me alot i thought i was screwed i organised my drive but when i went to edit i saw the 'media offline' screen and almost had a heartattack because i went trough 10 hours of footage and if it wasnt for this video it would have been for nothing thanks alot

I followed all of these steps and i am still getting media offline. Ive been using DR for 3 years and never had this issue, now all of the sudden its a consistent problem, any suggestions?

Deleting the cache did it for me! I have multiple timelines in one project and just realised how much cache the one project was using. Many thanks!

Unfortunately exporting and importing compound clips is impossible and they are not fixing this. Don't know how to comment this.

you'll also get that message with x265 HEVC videos

i record with 144 fractional fps so i can get it as smooth as possible, but how do I use it so its still 144 fps in davinci and why does my sound gets really "bassy" and weird when i use the recording in davinci, HELP!

Hai, I have 4K video Slog ( Sony ) 120 FPS and it is showing " offline" sound is imported... video not. Any suggestions ? pls. Rather new 2023 Mac m2 ssd card storage. Would be great if I can solve this. Using handbrake is possible ( downsizing ) but I do not want this.. of course. Thnx.4 reading

First one did it for me. I had been stupid enough to move my raw clips into a new folder during the rendering process which resulted in the render failing and the media to appear as offline. I'm still new to davinci & video editing in general so I was puzzled. Thank you!

Nothing was helping me. I managed to fix the issue by converting video files to mp4

Another way to get an offline media error that cant be fixed by methods mentioned in this video is importing an h265 video that was created and exported by Da Vinci Resolve :) fix? export source video to h264

None of these helped- it won’t let me quick export, it says that there’s offline media but there isn’t any offline media and I don’t what to do.

I imported a bunch of my images into davinci resolve [I downloaded the program today] and only 3 of the images are loading and everything is offline despite the program knowing where they are

I'm suspecting it is because I modified the names of images just downloaded of google
though one of the images was an exported image and that worked

so either I try to export every image I took instead or do some other method

or just not changing the names of the things

Wow thank you! The locate wasn't working when I had just the clips on my desktop but I made a folder and put them in and did it again and it worked :)

And when you try all of that and it wont help , it might turn out that you have 10 bit h.265 video, thats when things will get interesting..

It won’t even let me select where the media is?? It’s in my photos file, where I put the videos. Sooo lost

I seem to have a problem none of the options work, could this be because of the file format? mine shows mp4. This is what GoPro generates

Yasss, liked subscribed, all dat shiz. Because you sir somehow got me the exact answer I needed on, what I would think, is an obscure issue. I thought I lost all the rotoscoping effort, and heart, I put into my vid but all I needed to do was delete the render cache. Whew

i am new to davinci resolve and video editing overall and i think i know my problem so i have a video i was editing and i wanted to take it and edit it on my laptop becasue i wouldnt be home. so i clicked the house icon in the bottom right then clicked export and i put it on my flash drive so i could plug it into my laptop. thats all i did so i am missing the files of the actual video files arnt i

Sadly none of these help. It refuses to add a clip, the clip works fine, is the same format as the others, but when I go to view the clip it has 4 clips with this error on it. I know it is something weird with my drive probably because I can dig through my folders in media buuuut this folder does not show up at all til I drag it in and then it opens it up. I dunno what is happening. Maybe too deep not sure. Others from this folder work fine so I dunno why these few are all of a sudden out of reach.

Slow storage for me, but only because I'm rendering from AE at the same time on that drive. It's a bit obnoxious of Resolve to call that an "OFFLINE MEDIA" instead of simply "the playback will be a bit jerky because the drive is a bit slow right now, do you wish to continue anyway ?". Instead of just making the project entirely unusable while maybe you'd be OK with some dropped frames. Always ask the user, don't decide anything for him.

Davinci showed me the red files although I did not change anything in the folder/file structure (did not move nor delete anything). store all my stuff for editing on an external SSD (relatively). What I noticed is that everytime I plug another external device, lets say a SD card in order to get recently recorded offtext the order of the devices SSD has the name T7 (D:) yesterday but now gets the name T7 (E:) because the SD was plugged in before the SSD an was assigned by the laptop SD (D:) and the SSD changed from T7 (D:) to T7 (E:) and thus Davinci loses the original T7 (D:). So the question is how to avoid the random assignment of the different devices by Windows (other that deliberate order of plugging them into the laptop)
