ОтветитьSorry to hear that. My wife is from France and we never take taxis anywhere in Europe. I have been traveling for years, and we always find an alternative means of transport. Whether New York, Paris, Rome etc. I don’t trust taxis. Especially now with economies in collapse scams only increase. Cheers
ОтветитьSo you have vlog channel and fall the oldest scam in the book? how is that even possible?
ОтветитьAsk before you get on the taxi
ОтветитьNice video and good information. I am going to Naples new year and would like to know if the area you were walking around in at the beginning is the city centre. Just trying to find an area to stay in that has shopping and restaurants where tourists go to.
ОтветитьScammers are a disgrace everywhere however regarding Uber, they cannot operate in Italy because taxi drivers have to buy a license that costs up hundreds thousand euros. It wouldn't be fair that everybody else could just drive and make money while taxi drivers have invested so much more.
Ответитьpaid the same in NYC and SF. but it was an uber
ОтветитьAnd you believe uberpeepo do not scam you? ha... haha ... hahahahahah
ОтветитьThe only reason the taxi drivers protested against Uber is because they won't be able to scam tourists anymore, Uber is actually quite useful for both the driver and the person taking the cab.
ОтветитьIt's a pity that all are talking only about 10€ taxi scam... the red horn (in various sizes) is the "cornicello", (in Neapolitan ‘or curniciello), also commonly called “lucky horn”, is a scaramantic and good luck object ... you walked through "some square" ... it's Paizza Bellini ... where is the statue of Giovanni Bellini (italian Renaissance painter) and there's a small archaeological area known as the Mura Greche (greek wall)... you spet 1/3 of video talking about "tragic" scam of 10€ but you missed the soul of the city... tragic
ОтветитьWe’ll be in Naples with my partner in 3 weeks. I’ve been to Naples once in 1992 and loved it!
I guess I’m pretty lucky though. I speak Italian, my mom is from Lisbon and dad was from Marseille and also speak fluent Portuguese, Spanish and French.
Thanks for the tip! Cuzz no taxi dude is gonna scam me!
It happened once in 2016 when we spent a week in Budapest. Maybe it wouldn’t have happened if I spoke Hungarian 😂
Mille grazie per tutti!!
do not backbite
Ответитьplease do not talk behind his back
ОтветитьI really really really hate this city, never again
ОтветитьItaly = scam. Scammers are everywhere in Italy. They just rob you. Will never come here again
ОтветитьI mean, what do u expect???? everybody knows that! every country scams tourists like that. Epecially if you get you taxi next to train station, airport etc... At least go couple of streets down the road and then get a taxi. And never NEVER say it is your first time here! Always say something like '' Oh I've been here many times for buisness''
ОтветитьAt the end of the ride, when it comes to paying, you just ask for the bill and have it say where to. The price immediately drops
ОтветитьOh my gosh!!!!! I have also traveled all around the world and yup! Taxis have been the biggest negative in every big city. Drives me bonkers.
ОтветитьI love frittatina❤
ОтветитьThose horns is for good luck is Napolitan thing..ps sono Napoletano
Ответитьnever had a problem with taxi scams. We always ask what the charge will be BEFORE we get in the car., and yes, been to Naples.
ОтветитьYou can use uber and the application gives a taxi option and you already know what it will cost you. Sorry this happened, I know it's hard.
ОтветитьNaples is a total shit hole. Don't waste your time.
ОтветитьThis seems to be a very interesting place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
ОтветитьNew to your channel, I’m enjoying your posts.
Way back in 2004 I was in Italy with my Mom and we were heading inland on Sicily to visit my Great Grandfather’s gravesite in Agira. We got to the closest town with accommodation being Enna. It’s a hilltop city and once we got there we got off the bus (from Palermo) at the bottom of the hill.
A man came by in a car and offered us a ride up. This was his business, a driver.
It took less than two minutes to drive us to the top and his fee seemed ridiculous for the short drive. We paid it and chalked it up to us being easy targets.
The next morning we asked the hotel concierge for recommendations on how to get to Agira and he had “just the guy”. It turned out to be the same guy from the day before! We had already mentioned how we got ripped off the day before to the concierge. So when he discovered, this was the fellow that did that, he said something to him he negotiated a rate to Agira.
We ended up having a great visit to the war cemetery that day.
And we learned a lesson!
Italy is full of scammers. Disgusting experience.
ОтветитьWe got scammed in Rome too it’s so expensive taxis. They’re like limousine they don’t allow Uber in Italy. Italian mafia runs the taxi service I think.
ОтветитьYeah you should really do some homework before you travel guys. not knowing how to get around is the reason taxi drivers do this. its the same anywhere. Avoid taxi's 100% and always use public transport where possible.
ОтветитьI'm not sure about the clickbait title. Hardly a nightmare paying a few euros more for a taxi, compared to the rest of the day.
Thanks for the video, though. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Great vlog.glad you mentioned the taxi rip offs.seens to be everywhere at the moment.first impressions are not good🤔
ОтветитьTen minute trip 20 euro back again 20 euro, and tip he got 10 euro that's what it is in Ireland
ОтветитьAlways ask how much before I get Amy taxi 🚕💯🙏🙏🙏✔️
ОтветитьIt’s why I like Ireland. Hate de bloody scammers. Happened to me in Paris 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
ОтветитьNaples is TERRIBLE when it comes to getting around. At the airport the tourism counter says they have flat rates from the airport to downtown/cruise port. The agent said pay no more than 10 Euro. We get to the taxi stand and they want 50 Euro. We argue ... argue ... its stressful and intense. My wife and I in a sea of aggressive taxi drivers. Finally, they agree on 30 Euros ... 20 over the flat fee. They keep trying to put our bags in the car. Finally, we getting the cab and this guy acts pissed off and drives like a crazy person. Same thing to our hotel from the cruise port. The hotel says on the phone, don't pay more than 15 (even though it should be 7). Loud, scary, aggressive negotiating and finally we agree on 20. The Naples tourism board should know we ... and it sounds like you ... will NEVER come back to Naples again because from the first second in the country, its scamming and stress. No thanks. Until they work on their taxi drivers' system of scamming, we will NEVER go back to that city. Too stressful.
ОтветитьNot just Naples, had a worse experience in Rome - 50 Euros! Finally after much complaint 30 Euro but was still too much. Gotta confirm the price from the start before you get in. Live and learn.
ОтветитьTaxi got me today to and now I see your video lol figures
ОтветитьALL Italy is a big scam! They managed to convince the whole world that they have the best cusine which is consists ONLY by stupid pasta!
ОтветитьHow much should a 10 minute taxi ride cost in Naples?
ОтветитьI'm German and travel since over 50 yrs to Italy, they are like our cousins - I never ever got scammed, Italian people are very very honest. You can have anywhere in the world a ''black sheep''.
ОтветитьI’ve been scammed so many times in Naples. Ask how much before you get in the taxi. If they point to the meter, know that they manipulate the meter. If a restaurant or hotel calls you a cab, you’ll be shocked at the cost. Don’t ever say you’re from America. They think we’re all millionaires.
ОтветитьWhen travelling especially in Italy, always barter for the price before you commit. If your not sure what it should cost, its usually 1/2 the price they quote you.
ОтветитьThe entry into Naples is always awful the tourist board don’t know what’s going on. Neapolitan taxis are the worse and travel there all the time it’s like a lottery if you get an honest driver. They are not all bad but you can tell by their demeanour at the station airport is grim. A gang of men all in collusion ,It’s no wonder Naples has a bad rep if this is the first impression and believe me I love the place. The tourist board have no idea how to run the industry as they always have limos to collect them
I am sure you ended up loving the city
Napoli 💩🇮🇹💩💩💩✝️💩✝️✝️💩💩
ОтветитьWell, you got ripped off with the "taxi" (was it an official taxi? Real taxis do NOT approach YOU) because you don't expect such scams as a tourist... (I don't blame you... it happens in N.Y.C. too)
But you got an Aperol Sprizz for only € 1,50 ! In Milan (city center) it would have cost 5 €.
If you had just done research on the clean safe subway system, your problem could have been avoided.
ОтветитьTaxi worldwide are scams. When I used a taxi with my Italian friends, they told me not to talk. Ready for trip back, I know this city....Aloha
