Is a regular hdmi to USBC the same as a capture card?

This saved me a lot of money because I already own an iPad mini six. This will be fine but I’m planning on streaming on Twitch in future soon. Play a bit of PS2 and this saved me a lot of money because I thought I had to get like a fool on streaming, PC and everything.

Or I can just bring a small 24inch tv and plug in through hdmi.😊

iPads and Mac devices have a built on feature that lets you use the iPad as a monitor, it’s called sidecar and it works perfectly compared to…. Well this app.
Someone made a 3D printed case for their Mac Mini and their iPad mini, and it was pretty much perfect

The latency might also be due to the capture card interacting with the App on the iPad having issues.
It’s unlike regular displays just showing the signal perfectly. But most of the times it’s due to the cable.

The requirement of a capture card means this is a bit more expensive…. But for sure apple has to work on a full on integrated version where you don’t need a capture card.
Just one cable, or an HDMI dongle so you can keep the iPad charged so it doesn’t die in the middle of gaming. I’d see this working well on the go with anything, especially a Nintendo switch in the car with a 100 watt hour battery that can support both devices, or just the switch in docked mode. Cuz Xbox’ and the PS5 would be pretty power hungry.

If you use this as a camera monitor, can you live steam the content via the iPad or is there limitations there?

Does anyone know if you can connect a Nintendo switch directly to the iPad? Meaning with just the usb-c cable? I know there are some portable monitors that are capable of that, but I’m curious if that is a capability of the iPad with one of these apps.

Not a new thing. I set up my Steamdeck to use Steamlink via USB cable, connected to Ethernet adapter. It works very fine if wireless is slow.

Ive been using duet, and recently they added 120hz mode for the ipad pros. Lag is pretty bad, but a bit better recently. Im just wondering how this is compared to duet.

If it has noticeable input lag it’s pretty useless. We’ll just have to wait for the lazy clowns at Parsec to release an iOS app, which according to them “it’s coming” and has been like that for like 4 years now.
