Very nice video. I never was interested in Linux, hacking, etc. I didn't know about it anything, but once by someone advice I became to interested step by step. I installed VMBox, Ubuntu after Kali, etc. And I am trying to watch videos to learn all this staff. It is not easy for my age already, need to remember many things and understand. So this video very interesting even I don't know how all internet and machine works.
Maybe this course not for absolute beginners like me, because you need to now how everything works in general, IP, nmap, ping, etc, many unknown names 😁 but it help me to watch more videos about it.

This guys a hero, but the first two mins made no sense LOL yeah guys you can install virtual box or VMware. For this demo I'll be going over VMware. You can download the free version but im going to pay for the pro version. Why pay for the pro version you ask? To run multiple vms and have snapshots saved. Hmmmmm.... you mean like virtual box does for free? 😂😂😂😂😂 are you ok

lol with all linux you can hack windows smb if you have the password or username... windows firewall cant block it but comodo can help you against it with port block for System... worst thing is these creeps from satellite are keep asking me for my username and password hitting back front and top of my head with wave... making me hear echo of it everytime I do it knowing they have it lol.. who cares I just block the port for syst4em and microsoft close that damn port when I say I dont want smb/network sharing as comodo doesnt give away their firewall anymore...

After decades of not knowing what to really do with my life, and three degrees ending with a masters in data analytics, the one thing I keep coming back to is Linux, which I first used in 1996, Redhat 4.2. Maybe this will stick and I can make a living again.

Why would you just not use the built in windows hyper-v. You didnt even acknowledge its existence. Why should someone but the "Virtual box pro" when all the features are already in THE SOFTWARE BUILT INTO WINDOWS. That alone tells me this video isnt worth it, and im not wasting my time with any simple garbage you have to say.

Fantastic course for us beginners and thanks to Heath for this amazing learning opportunity. The only issue I've had so far is after starting apache2 when I type in my IP in the address bar followed by port 8080 I get a connection error. I am able to get the default apache with my IP address. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi thanks for the lovely video, I have a question, I have tried to change the default password so I have opened the terminal and typed "passwd" It is asking me straight "New password:" but doesn't let me type anything, it is nothing wrong with my keyboard, in fact, when I am typing in the terminal anything else except the command to change the password the keyboard works.....

this course is for Ethical Hackers only or cyber security too?

In 2020+, when logging in to Kali, you instead need to type "Kali" for the username and pw sign-in.
Then, open a terminal and type:
sudo -i
kali
whoami (to check if you've accessed root)
passwd
[type your new password]
[retype it to confirm]
exit
clear

Then re sign-in with "root" as the username and use your new password
