Love my Hyken. I’ve had mine for 3 years and it’s been pretty beat up by me and my pets that loved to chew when they were babies. Literally everyone who’s sat in it instantly mentions how comfy they find it and asks where I got it. They’re also shocked when I tell them how cheap it was. Yeah the Herman Miller is definitely better, but at ten times the cost, definitely not even close to a “better bang for your buck” deal.

No chair lasts even 5 years.
Don't believe the hype.

The movies are always nice! But I don't know why you always let the chairs high for you. It makes it harder to have the overall comfort and adjustment idea.

The Aeron looks great and it's definitely better, but I've seen the Hyken for $165 and based on all of the reviews I've seen I'm not sure the 10x price difference is worth it.

I’ve decided I wanted to replace my home office chair after a couple year because the pleather is peeling off and a well ventilated mesh chair would probably be better for our hot and humid summers.

But now I’m learning that $200 for a chair, which is thought was expensive, is actually cheap. And that the Hyken in Canada is actually 350 Canadian Dollars. And that a chair with armrests that can move out of the way (I play guitar) is a pretty rare feature. Seems like I’ll be sitting on my current chair for a while.

Well, I’ve got news for you: here in Denmark we must pay $2.700,00 usd for an Aeron if it’s not on some ‘special offer’, so what are you crying about?

I'd love to see a similar video comparing the Clatina Mellet and the LeapV2 and/or Amia.

I'm happy with my Clatina since it fit my company's WFH allowance, but a Leap V2 or Amia is what I hope to replace it with in the coming years.

Hey, could you help me find a chair?
I want a chair that has an headrest and have a budget of 500 EUROs and live in the Netherlands. The problem is I can't find any chairs that are found in videos. Because they're either not available or suddenly hundreds of euros more expensive then the american counterpart.

With my back and neck issues I prefer to spend money for comfort. I spend too many hours in a chair to not be comfortable.

I don't wear jeans around the house, I wear boxers. I'm afraid a mesh seat is going to hurt my tail bone....and my balls.

Honestly the Hyken isn’t as good as the Dexley Flexfit Mesh. Its bigger and has better support. That is the chair you should compare.

Wouldn’t consider the Haken just for the hard inflexible armrests without even considering the other faults… It doesn’t look very durable either, a big consideration: The arm just snapped off my £1000 humanscale chair in about 3 years, turns out it is made of brittle plastic attached to a steel frame… just got Aeron to replace it and am happy so far. It does look quite robust although I’m a little worried what might happen if someone dropped a cigarette end on the mesh seat… fortunately I gave them up some time ago.

The Hyken is way to small for anyone 5’9 I got the Dexley staples chair for $159 and it’s way bigger and more comfortable then the Hyken.

I wonder WHY high end chairs does not include a plastic or metal anti sliding surface on the seat star surface. It is a detal, as totaly removing armrests, that they just miss every single time.

Btod team have you guys heard of GTchair? I recently stumbled upon them before watching your vids but apparently not many had reviews their products because they are a Chinese group that creates office and gaming chairs

On the website and what they show the chairs look really good.
But I'm not sure how the hands on feel would be, have you guys ever tried any of their products before ?

Just did a little more research they also have an Australian branch with the name of Onex which only gives their "office-gaming chair" and they also go by another name too called "ergo"

I'm more interested in their office lineup though

I've had my Hyken for about 3 years and honestly it's not as bad for me as I'm seeing other people express. The mesh is loose and the adjustable headrest and lumbar never stay in place, but I can sit in it for 5-6 hours at a time no problem. That's just my experience though. I will probably replace it with something like a Leap 2 or Aeron at some point. Luckily I live like 20 minutes from the Herman Miller headquarters so I have plenty of shopping options near me for refurbs.

I had a Hyken, back when I didn't know anything. It was okay for a couple hours at a time at best. Wifey's using it now, but just bought an Embody that'll come this week. I can't believe she was okay with suffering with it for as long as she did...
I'm moving on to a Haworth Fern myself now. Really, I think buying into a chair that'll last 10+ years is the way to go. Better than spending $200 every few years for cheap and low quality options.
That said, there's most definitely some decent budget options out there. They're just hard to find.

Tried a hyken but those armrest are just too close. I now got a vera, which I like but that mesh is too abrasive. No matter what clothes I wear, i can see that the fibers are getting pulled out and placed on the mesh. Poor design I would say. Do all mesh chairs do this, or just the vera?

I love watching these reviews! I spend long hours working in front of a computer, and I needed a chair that wouldn't cause me back pain. After watching some reviews in this channel I decided to give Aeron a try and it made a significant difference for my seating experience. Now I can sit long hours without any back pain and completely forget that the chair is there! I think this is the best investment I've made for my working environment and I want to thank this channel for that

If you have the $ great. If not it's a stretch for the average home to even spend $200. I'm starting to get more comfortable financially but I know the grind. It's a bit frustrating

For people talking trash about the comparison realize this vid ain't for you. I am LITERALLY in this position. I have the Hyken chair and the mesh is so loose now and I bought it less than a year ago. I was so upset bv now the Hyken, it hurts to sit down on it. So I am calling Monday to see how true their warranty is. If they can replace it or at least the mesh back then I'll keep it I guess for another <half year. If Staples reject it, I am done searching and compromising. I will finally pull the trigger on an aeron.

Worked in an office that had the Hyken chair. Hyken is comfortable for short term, e.g. couple of hours, anything more will be uncomfortable. You get what you paid for. Bottom line: don't cheap out unless you enjoy constant neck, shoulder, hip and back pains.
