The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam is located at the Museum Square next to the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum. The museum was founded in 1874 and moved into this building in 1895. The building was designed by A.W. Weissman. After the construction of the new façade, the museum was nicknamed de Badkuip (The Bathtub).
